Unfortunately, we could never know what would have happened if Spalletti had remained on the bench of Napoli for another year. This story reminds me a lot of when Mourinho surprisingly left Inter after winning the Champions League final, I think he saw that more could not be achieved and that he had reached the maximum, in fact then Inter went into total decline in the following years. The stories are similar! Returning to Napoli, I hope they can at least reach the Europa League because by now the Champions League is difficult to catch but not impossible, but they would need a miracle.

in my opinion, with Spalletti, Napoli would have at least maintained their position in the top four. Often a coach motivates the players a lot, such coaches are quite rare, I remember Carlo Mazzone very well who was like a father to the players and they listened to him as one listens to a father

I liked it a lot Mazzone

Most probably with Spalletti at the helm there would have been a different championship for Napoli, I think you are right, maybe he wouldn't have ruined the championship but he would have fought for a position in the top four. I checked my usual source (BBC Sport) to read some transfer speculations today and the interesting point is there was only one related to a Serie A club.  Sad

I'm linking this to the big debt big Serie A clubs have been in. What do you say? They are of course making transfers in summers but generally we don't see them spending a huge amount of money on a player. Inter have a quite strong level of squad though. However other big clubs would really need some good transfers to get more competitive for the league championship.

We have seen really good coaches coming here but not being able to do much because of money problems for transfers.

The Italian clubs unfortunately are very indebted, we are now in total decline, before they can make purchases they must necessarily sell a few players to be able to make transfers, they also wait for funds from television rights and placement in the standings. Inter despite having a very competitive team make targeted purchases and especially in free transfers such as Taremi and Zielinsky who are already promised to Inter, in addition, the company Inter is in the process of changing ownership, if by May 20 Zangh does not repay the debt the new owner will be Oaktree

Injuries really had a role in Juventus to get worse. I mean Juventus already don't have a very impressive squad I'm afraid. When they struggle with injuries too things are just turning into a nightmare.

Indeed Juventus has been going through a lot of injuries if not they would have surely go far more than the way they are now because it has affected there performance that there last three matches has been a sad one for them, although somehow they tried for a club that been having some injuries to still maintain the current position they are. Although there is still chance for them to compete with AC Milan on the second position because even if Juventus may have not been on there best performance this season but they surely have an advantage over there upcoming matches because most of those matches may likely not going to trouble them too much because they have a good advantage of wining especially there upcoming match against Lazio they will possibly win Lazio because they have more quality players than Lazio but if they are not consistent on this matches they will not have a chance to compete with AC Milan on the the second position.

he certainly wouldn`t have won the scudetto even with Spalletti, but probably being stable as a team he could certainly have done much more than he did this season
This season has been truly bad for Napoli, terrible from every point of view.. nothing is good and the season not end Smiley

At the start of the season, Juventus' performance was quite good, even since the start of the season they have experienced this problem, but this has not had a significant effect on their performance because there are supporting players who are able to cover it and maintain team stability. The large number of injured players is not a reason in my opinion, but it is. Their motivation had decreased when they were unable to compete with Inter Milan in the race for the Scudetto and this bad thing continued to happen for a long time so that up to now they have not been able to recover.

For the opportunity to compete with AC MIlan in the battle for 2nd place, I think there is no longer a possibility for Juventus, the two teams are in different performance trends, AC Milan is on fire and Juventus is in decline.
Now Juventus must get up and focus on maintaining their position to finish in the top 4, that's enough in my opinion.

I think they were going for the title for a while, and they were tied, going neck and neck with Inter. After all of the injuries, things changed and now they are not looking anything like they used to.

This should be the most important part, I understand that it is not going to be easy to accept for them but they need to have a bigger depth not higher quality of players. They wanted to have a better eleven, but that came at the cost of not having a great bench and depth, which resulted with them being horrible when one of their good players injured. This means that during this summer, they need to replace anyone that leaves, but also need to have better bench players that can help them be a lot better if anything happens to other players.

well yes, many teams have a lot of debt because they spend the money very haphazardly, very exaggerated salaries for players and astronomical transfer costs
not to mention the salaries of the coaches, all this money cannot come from simple season tickets
the system is sick and destined to get worse as the number of fans dwindles more and more

You are right, the system is sick and everything is going to get worse, especially in Italy, which has now lost its appeal. In this world of entertainment if you do not invest you gain nothing and unfortunately Italy has not invested anything, rather it has fossilised. Once upon a time Serie A was of great interest because it was the championship of the seven sisters (Juventus Milan Inter Rome Lazio Parma and Sampdoria) who contended for the scudetto right to the end, now it is just Juventus Inter Milan dominance and nothing else

With Players like Chiesa and Bremen the defender linked with a move out of Juventus,  they would really do with some incomings as well the coaching role. I don't know if they'd still want to go with Max Allegri as head coach. Two to three signatures would be seen as Sofyan Amrabat has also been reported as one of thr names they're interested in signing.

Napoli will not be qualifying for the Champions League Competition so I know, a big name like Victor Oshime would be leaving ASAP. He would leave for Chelsea in my own opinion and I know Chelsea football club and Napoli are good doing business together just like they did with the case of Koulibaily.

Ac Milan also would be eyeing a replacement for Oliver Giroud sikce he'll be leaving as they have no plans to offer him a new contract, they're exploring the market and would come up with a good replacement for him who can use both feets.

It is very likely that Max Allegri will no longer be the coach of Juventus next year, given the poor results so far I don't think the club wants to continue to invest in him, but I wonder who the replacement could be? Osimhen will leave even with the qualification to the next Champions League, last summer he already wanted to leave as he had been repeatedly approached by PSG, rather I have the feeling that Kvaraskhelia could also say goodbye to Napoli.

If the board decide to sack him I think they should think about bringing Conte. He already has a lovely history with Juventus and he would be one of the best choices.

Apart from that I really like Juventus as for defending. They are currently the second least conceding team in the Serie A. However their being really poor at scoring pushes them out of a title rivalry.  Sad  New transfers are a must for Juventus from now on. They need more productive players. They can't get enough goal contribution from their midfielders especially. After increasing their revenues by the end of the season they should immediately focus on this.

Yes, what you say is true, but I think perhaps that in Italy we have the worst situation given that even very usual teams, like the team you support: Juventus, are in financial problems.
I am not saying they risk bankruptcy, but they have to do the math carefully since they are not making money but rather losing money.

Osimhen will leave even with the qualification to the next Champions League, last summer he already wanted to leave as he had been repeatedly approached by PSG, rather I have the feeling that Kvaraskhelia could also say goodbye to Napoli.

Next year will be a year of many changes
I cant say that I am happy to see him go, after all he is a good coach and I am verry sorry
I am convinced that the poor results are not his fault but a lot of bad luck, for example last season there was the terrible punishment of not playing the cups. Not Allegri fault.

Indeed AC Milan is currently on fire because they are no longer on the trend of Juventus in this league, so Juventus has lost the opportunity of competing with them and besides Ac Milan is very lucky because there remaining matches will not be that strong for them especially there next match against Fiorentina is very certain they will win the match and which will also improve there points the more, I really commend on Ac Milan performance this season because even if they no that there points will never be enough to compete with Inter Milan on the first position and also knowing that Juventus can never be a threat to them on the second position but they never underestimated any club and they always maintain there good performance.

However in terms of Juventus performance I agree with you that they were able to sustain there performance a bit as most of there players are injured but there consistency was not enough because the pressure was much on them and besides it was actually very difficult for them to perform the way they normally do because most of those injured players covers big role on the club that there absence could affect the team, so that's why I believe that the injured players contributed to there poor performance.

Yes, its not entirely Allegri fault, and he also couldnt get the star players he wanted in the 2023/2024 season because Juve only able to play in domestic competitions.
However, maybe he still has a chance to stay until his contract expires, as long as he can bring Juve to win the Coppa Italia.
The rumors spreading now are that Zidane or Conte will become the next Juve manager.

I mean they should definitely consider sacking him, he looks like the type of manager that is not bringing the success they expected of him. I think Juventus could do much better, and with what they have as players they are doing much better in the end, they will eventually win the title, but it is not going to be all that easy.

This should not be that simple, it should be something that will take a while, and because of that I believe that we are going to see some changes here and there. But that is me, if they change the manager, some of the staff, and do better training maybe they won't have this many injured players neither, which is why I believe that we are going to see them do a lot better eventually.

Injuries can significantly impact a team's performance, and Juventus has indeed faced challenges with several key players being sidelined. Injuries are an inevitable part of sports, their impact on Juventus, with its high standards and expectations, can be particularly significant. It's understandable to attribute some of the team's poor performances to the absence of key players due to injury. When crucial players are absent due to injuries, it can disrupt the team's rhythm and affect their ability to maintain consistency on the field. These players have pivotal roles within the squad, and their absence can create gaps that are difficult to fill adequately.

Also the consistency of Inter puts more pressure on them. The pressure on the remaining players to compensate for the missing key players is too big. They may feel the weight of expectations from fans, coaches, and even themselves to step up and deliver results despite the setbacks. This added pressure can sometimes lead to inconsistencies in performance, because the team struggles to adapt to the altered dynamics and find their footing without their injured teammates.
