Yesterday the ACC decided to continue hosting the matches in Colombo, rather than moving them to Hambantota or Dambulla. I was quite surprised by this decision. As a Bangladeshi, it is very sad to see the Bangladesh team losing the match like this. Bangladesh lost so badly against Pakistan that it is doubtful whether they can win their next matches against Sri Lanka and India. I myself believe that Bangladesh might fail to win a match against a smart team like India. Now is the time of rain so it is natural that it will rain now.  So there will be some problem in Asia Cup due to rain, some matches may be delayed or transferred to another day.

If everything goes well then we will see India and Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup.  Equation may vary if some matches are abandoned due to rain related issues.

So instead of spending 7-8 hours on a 50-over match, we are gong to spend 2 days? I am not sure how many people would be OK with that. The world is fast moving, and that is one of the reasons why T20I format is so popular now. ODI is slowly dying because fans simply doesn't have half a day to spare on the matches. And if they spread out the matches across two days (one being a working day), how it is going to work? The problem is that ACC bosses decided on the schedule without having any regard for the fans. And this will hit their revenue next time, when they auction the TV/OTT rights.

Why only for India and Pakistan? Ideally ACC should have given preference to the host country matches. Only picking up the match between India and Pakistan points that they don't care about other teams and their participation. They are organizing this series to benefit the broadcasting company. This is discrimination at it's lowest level and a way to put forward that except India and Pakistan matches, other matches are not that worthy to get a reserve day. Already, ACC moved the tournament from the actual host, then they went ahead and disagreed with Pakistan on hosting matches in UAE. Now, the bamboo came from Star TV & Hotstar and they flipped just like a coin falling on to the feet. Ofcourse it looks like ACC stoop to those who paid them huge for broadcasting  rights of the tournament. The worst is that the host board has not come up publicly about this special gesture and neither did other boards participating in this tournament are questioning it.

The season during which the Asia Cup is held is usually rainy and rainy in Sri Lanka, so it is not surprising that it rains every day during this period. Yesterday's match was too easy for the Pakistan team because Bangladesh's performance in this match was too bad because they gave only 193 runs targets which was too easy for any team to chase down this target. Pakistan's bowling performance was incredible, especially Haris Rauf. He bowled 6 overs and took 4 wickets against the Bangladesh team and also player of the match goes to Haris Rauf. One of the other players Naseem Shah's bowling performance was also incredible he also took 3 wickets and bowled 5.4 overs. If we look at the previous match performance of Bangladesh then they also did a bad performance in batting as well as Bowling. Sirlinka bowling performance was very well in the previous match they all out the Bangladesh team in just 164 runs. This match hero Matheesha Pathirana picked up 4 Crucial wickets and restricted Bangladesh under 200. If this type of performance Sirlinka bowler doing then Bangladesh will lose this match again. Srilankan team is looking good. The last match that they played against Afghanistan was a thrilling one. I never expected them to snatch the match out from Afghanistan. They have been bowling very good, both seamers and spinners are effective. They have some issues with the bat, that is still manageable when bowlers are backing up. My favourite would be Srilankans team for today.
