Killing oneself by suicide is not something that occurs to everyone no matter what loss that we have been faced with. This one of the reasons why the gambling thread is always discussing issues concerning gambling while educating many people about gambling. Sometime ago, someone introduced a topic on "gambling responsibly" which many people contributed their respective opinions about gambling responsibly and how a gambler should not exceed his gambling limit. I've always said this on this thread that if a gambler can't gamble responsibly or can not control his emotions after losing money in gambling, it's absolutely unwise for such person to even engage in gambling activities in the first place because he's very unlikely to manage his emotional feelings when he loses big.

According to the news I heard about the incident of the guy that committed suicide after losing a lot of money in gambling, more than 50% of the total amount of money he lost in gambling that made him took his own life was borrowed and it was borrowed after he went bankrupt by losing all his money to gambling and in his quest to get back the already lost money, he decided to borrow money to gamble more with the hope that he's gonna win big at the end of the day but unfortunately for him, he lost all to gambling and became depressed immediately. He couldn't manage his emotions about his huge loss abd decided to take his own life.

I don't think it will give gambling a bad name in the sense that gambling took a life of a person. I guess no, this does not happen. In fact the gambler himself is responsible for what he did. There are moderate gamblers too who gamble for years and years and yet they will never dare to take such steps which may cost them their lives.

From the new development we are getting from a close source it seems this young man that losed this money also took the money as a loan in the hope of doubling it and returning the money back to the loan company in no time. He had his own plans whereas gambling was having another plan too different from his. As a matter of fact, this kind of discussion is more needed on this forum and everywhere else where gambling or addiction means are being discussed, no one prays for such unfortunate things but it will be a constant reminder for us to know our limits and show restraints at some points. I hope the soul find rest, this type of death are the painful one that the family will never forget, anytime a close relative or family member want to engage in gambling, even if there is no addiction yet or he has his money to stake and wager, they will be against it and if he want to prove stubborness, they will remind him how their son died miserbly from same gambling he his trying to do. It’s really very sad news i read this story, although i heard a lot of such incidents even in my country, I think this is the result of excessive greed in the gambling, I don’t know why should he made a bet in such a large amount where if he loses he may lose everything and even his life, because there are no sure win guarantee in gambling so definitely it was big mistake by him because we should to make a bet with affordable amount which will not any bad impact in our life if we will loses.
