Are people really capable of 100 pushups per day? For real? I can't even do 40 push ups per day or is it not a one time thing in a day? Like can I do 30 in the morning and afternoon and night to complete it to 100?
100 pushups in a is going to land me on the hospital bed, my health is not even that great because I always get tired very fast, I will never understand how people get this type of strength.
Maybe if I see someone who do it every morning I can be pissed at myself and start forcing my way? Or there is a technique about pushups that most people like myself isn't getting?
Some guys start out by doing 10-20 pushups per set, so you can do 5-10 pushup sets in a day. You do not have to start out by doing so many pushups that you cannot do them. It may well be pace yourself to your level and even what goals that you might have related to doing pushups, whether daily or otherwise. When I started doing daily pushups at the beginning of this thread, I had to work up for 5 days or so in order to get up to being able to be able to do 100 pushups in a day, and i would usually do 3-5 sets, but I had to spread the pushup sets through the whole day because it used to make me so sore that I needed time to recover between sets.
In recent times, since late September, I had been doing pushups on steps of the stairs instead of doing them on the flat floor, so it is easier to do the pushups on the steps than regular pushups. The easiest step level is step 5, and then it is more difficult for each lower step, step 4, step 3, step 2 or step 1. Of course, flat is the most difficult.
When I am doing my pushups on the steps they are more cardio than they are resistance training, yet I still get very sore from them because I make sure that I push myself in such a way that I work to my level of soreness. So there is both judgement and personal preference in choosing how many pushups to do, how hard to make them and even how to count them. I have found that when I do pushups on stairs, I tend to do the pushups within a larger range of ups and downs and so I tend to extend myself more and make sure that I feel which muscles are getting tired.
So, of course, doing the pushups on the stairs allows abilities to do more pushups as compared with doing them flat, and I tend count my pushups at a lower level, whether it is 50% of the quantity or 60% or 70% or 80% of the total quantity depending on my own judgement of the difficulty level (and which step level (or steps) I am on for that set).
