First time hearing op said their stupidity. However, you are so lucky to realize your mistakes and were addictions is bringing you to. But it's bad as a student to gamble while school time. Even when you are not gambling with money time will come when you will start betting with money and as you have started at your early age it would be very difficult to quit.
Funny aspect of addiction and gamblers is they don't always agree that they are addicted to gamble. You see, now from using the money made from cigarettes to gamble one day you might sell property and use the money to gamble, that's how additcions start.

I haven't tried this kind of betting experience when I was young, the first gambling that I've tried is card games as well but Me and my cousins did it during summer break and that's how we used our school break. Fyi, our parents didn't know that we were playing card games because for sure they will get mad to us. Time flies really fast, I miss those experiences when we were kids, we just had fun and didn't take things too seriously, unlike today when we have to work hard to survive.

During my middle school, when our teacher is not around or did not teach that day, one of my classmate would always bring cards. He and his friends would play different kinds of games without betting any money. They just play for fun and for pass time while we do study. Although it looks fun to join, but I just watch them play and I did not particpate since what they are doing is against our school rules. I guess most people are stupid when they are in mid-school, I have done so many stupid things at that age but gambling cards isn't one of them, I can remember where I would skip classes and get out of the school compound to place bets of video games, football and fighting games.

Its not something I was proud of either, no one will but being young and desperate, this is why its dangerous to be influenced by the wrong things, you will just point straight to it like your life depends on it, I am glad that I still managed to end mid -school with flying colours, this habit could easily ruin anyone.

I knew some thugs wannabe in mid-school at the time and the eventually grew up to become one, I don't know if they felt wrong about their decisions today but I bet they won't want to show that to anyone, exposure to gambling at a very young age is not cool.

During my Secs school days there were other game played with my fellow girls but that is not related to gambling where we do draw out some spaces in a carboards paper and inserts stones on it (4 each space) though it will be shared into 12 separates places then such game can be played by 6, 4, 2 or 2,4,6 which ever way can go. This game as then made me to miss classes as well though it was periodically on low mentality leaving class for a stupid games that doesn't add anything our life I think the name of the game is called "Ayo game" name deriving from Yoruba and is popularly known and mostly played by those of Yoruba's.

As a child I usually won lotteries, which were huge prizes. Like motorcycle, jeep car, mobile etc. and various other prizes. So I bet on them in my student life but never won. I originally had high hopes of winning a motorcycle, but I didn't get them. I usually lose a lot on these types of bets and get regular prizes that are far less than my lottery worth.

Yes, it's almost not much different from you because I have an uncle who likes to gamble so I often see him at home gambling with his friends which in the end makes me often steal his cards to play at school with my friends, betting our pocket money given by our parents sometimes Sometimes we gamble with our savings or school fees, not much different from you where we often skip school just to gamble and it's true that it was a stupid thing I did when I was young.

But everyone should have a stupid story from when they were young so that it can be used as a lesson when they have children, at least make sure they don't gamble after their father when they were young, always try to protect their environment so that they don't want to know about gambling, I still gamble but my child doesn't I never knew that because I never gamble in front of my children because that will make my children follow me in the future, for example I follow my uncle because the environment around us is what makes us become what we see and learn there. There is no need for regrets, everything is a process and that's how life is, everything has to have a story to correct so that it can be better in the future.

You grew up the street way, not everyone had life hard way but I can relate during my game days in school. In junior school back then, you will be allowed to have game days on every Wednesday and play all the type games you like range from Badminton, Handall, Football, Volleyball, High jump and long jump but cards are strictly prohibited, my school dislike card games because they see you as a wayward person but you know where there is law, some people must still break it.

This faithful day, when others where busy doing there things, some group of us prefer the card game and went to hide in our of the classes. We bets breakfast money and we were playing our stuff until the Labour master came around for check maybe there could be some students hiding and didn't went for any game and that's how we were caught. I after the game time, we were summon to assembly ground and our assets were whoop and was reported to our respective parents, that was my last I did something like that.

I remember playing card games while I was little, but I never played gamble with it. As a matter of fact, I only started gambling mainly on football predictions. Any other gamble outside of football never really took my attention or I was never involved in it, but however as a child I know I played some card games.
But in answering your question about doing something crazy to bet, specifically I've seen a lot of people do crazy stuff like using their mobile phone to bet, pulling of their clothes to stake on a game and they lost out, going home with bare body and few others I can't remember.

I sold crisps and sweets in school but cigarettes at that age is a step up in cool kid doing bad things factor, cant remember anyone in our group doing this but theres always teenagers who smoke so its a market of the worst kind   We also played cards and bet for money but I only did that in later school not skipping classes at early age;  I would often miss entire days and just stay home however coming in at lunch hour pretending you were always there for a couple hours sometimes covered the absence.
   I would get the head of our year, students not teacher to forge a cover note for me also sometimes;  he also sold on details of the school security systems for exam results on the computers it was a big scandal when that hack was found out 

We definitely played card games of a basic kind at even first few school years.  No money, far more valuable was the card itself which often not but sometimes you might lose the card in a bet.   High stakes gambling when you are very young, nobody wants to lose their very favorite set of cards.

We have a reckless attitude when we are young we are driven to adventure out of curiosity, and your experience is one of these, I have a share of that too, when I was young we used to skip classes to go to fiestas to bet even if that fiesta is from another town.

We challenged one another on who among us was the luckiest for that day and the luckiest was going to treat the losers to a drink, because of this we got failing grades and our parents found out about our gambling activity, so we got punished by not having an allowance for 2 weeks, its a lesson learned for the young not to be adventurous to the point that you will neglect your study.

That's quite normal for some kids, we like to experiment when we are young. Personally, I learn gambling through the influence of people around me, and that lead me to gambling online when I learn that there's a lot of casinos in crypto where it's easy to deposit, that was year ago when KYC wasn't a big thing yet. It's called curiousity on my part until I fell in love with the games I'm playing, so I'm more an online gambler guy now but my past experience in gambling has been significant for me to be interested in gambling.

There was a lot of goofing around... coin tossing, marbles, playing cards, and some weird games that I don't even know how to translate into English. And I guess most of them were in the wrong place, behind the school, empty places, when we are kids who care about the place and time, it is all about having fun with friends. We were young and crazy, as it usually goes with all of us... and with age we all get serious, "kids" games start to be boring and we want something else.

I wouldn't say that the street way was a hard life, when I was a kid the entire fun was on the street. We didn't have computers, there were Commodore 64, Atar, and Nintendo but even those were rare... most of the time we were out playing with other kids. Even arcade games were played with friends in some "suspicious places" sort of speaking.

No, I have never got involved on the kind of situation you shared in your post. Always I gambled I did on a specific time of the day for that practice, without prejudicing another activities and duties of my daily life, such as attending to lessons at school or gambling during worktime. During my childhood I didn't like to go to school, but at same time I wasn't introduced to gambling yet, at least not through the same concept of gambling I have today, neither I had colleagues to gamble with, because this activity was strange to them. So, when I was too annoyed and bothered to go to school, I just resorted to videogames. That was my safe heaven.

And thankfully I didn't develop interest for gambling back then, even though I knew its existence, as I watched movies, saw family members gambling and we even played few gambling games together, although rarely. If I did develop that interest, I guess I wouldn't be prepared to deal with it yet in a smart and responsible way, so I think I would have lost all the little money I had back then, which I used to purchase videogames and snacks. No regrets about that, though. These are some of the best memories I have in my life.

Not that crazy because it is normal for kids to sell cigars if they want to earn some money in my place.  Other kids even ask people to bet on their basketball-ending games just to get some percentage from the total bet.   But indeed it is kinda crazy to think @OP playing cards inside the bathroom with his friends, LOL.

I never had an experience of gambling in a strange place just to hide our activity.  I gambled when I was a kid but it is on my friend's house or on the side walk of the street since our street is not a main road where vehicles are frequent.  Aside from that, I enjoy betting on a shooting game where the participants have to shoot the ball from either the free throw lines or the rainbow line.

This actually reminds me of a fellow I saw in a Gambling hall one day,  this gambler was so engrossed in the gambling that I even left what I was doing, sat down and was watching him closely, he gambled to an extent that he lost all his money, and instead of leaving, he decided to go into the dangerous route of loss chasing, he left his mobile phone with tgr cashier and continued playing. Luck was clearly not on his side that day so he also lost his phone to the casino and even incurred a few more debt he couldn't afford to pay, so they seized his clothes and shoes and he would've went home on his underwears if I hadn't stepped in to pay the cashier some of the money for his clothes to be released.

Yes, we were both stupid at that time, the bk room was our usual place, and both teachers and our friends knew us not because of the intelligence we had or the achievements we achieved, but they could know us because of our naughtiness. which we often do. Skipping school hours, climbing the fence and leaving the school area are things we often do. And this is really stupid because we waste valuable study time just playing cards with friends. Or just spend the pocket money we have to make small bets. We continued to commit mischief after mischief, until we received a warning letter and endured the shame of having our parents called to school to take responsibility for the mischief we committed.

This is not something to be proud of, and if I look back on that incident, perhaps this is one of the deepest regrets I have ever felt.

This is probably the innocence of your youth. My youth had no such bets. But for me, I'm only now getting involved in gambling. That's really stupid.
I have a family, I want to get rich, and I want to make money quickly from gambling. I took all my husband and I's savings and gambled. I don't know what motivated me to do so because I am very careful and have always been the breadwinner of the family. I don't know if I'm addicted or if the temptation to get rich has blinded me. I paid too much for this crazy and stupid thing.
