Your explanation is comprehensive because literally anything we call hobby is something that is done at our leisure time and for pleasure as well so it depends on how a gambler takes their gambling approach that will determine if they take it as hobbies or depending on it to earn a living and if it gets to that extent, it is no more hobby. You are right and I completely agree with you, for people who may not understand to understand better, hobby simply means something that we do on the side, aside from our main job.
Some body who is working with or for a company can decide to play football on the side as a hobby, and this he or she does only at his or her free time, so, it's not something that is really important since its not something that is generating income for the person..

Nope, in my view gambling is a style of life rather than a hobby. True and abstracted gamblers will bet on everything even on tomorrow's whether and it doesn't matter with whom and where. It is gamblers that are gambling for profit that will get sad when they run at loss because they don't know that it is a trap to losses.
