Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?

You didn't specify the amount if you want to us to tell you the amount to spare for gambling. Imagine you are earning $100 a month for instance and I tell you to use 5% of your money to gamble, how do you think it's possible to achieve that dream of gambling with $5, some casino can allow you to have a minimum wager of $0.5 but your return will be small even if you try multipliers.

I think you should know better an amount you know it's affordable for you to use in gambling, if you go and listen to other people advice and wager big amount, you will suffer alone without anyone there to give you the support you need the days you don't win anything and using a lot of money for gambling, you will likely run of more bills to be paid.

Some people can asked any sort of weird question sounding ridiculous to the ear, why should someone think of using his salary for gambling in the first place, then can boldly come up to the public in asking as well on the amount to be ratioed for gambling from salary income, i know as well that some would have also given ridiculous answers like the entire salary for gambling, because this is something we just need to understand that we are gambling all because we are able to afford doing so, and we should gamble with the amount of money we are capable of loosing.

I'll be honest.
I do not adhere to strict money management in gambling. It's not every month that I set aside a certain amount for gambling. Sometimes my mood determines whether I'm going to play or not. It happens that for a whole month I don't touch gambling at all, because I'm happy with my life. I understand that you need to be reasonable and control your expenses, but sometimes it's hard to restrain your desires and emotions. And because of this, sometimes I can spend more than the norm on gambling.

Sometimes I allow myself to play with risk in gambling and test my luck, mainly in hockey, football and even e-sports. I probably lose more than I win, but the process of the game itself is important to me. I have a small set aside amount for all my expenses and I take from it when I see that there will be super games and super matches. I like to bet on big events. So, I can place a lot of bets on a major tournament and this could be half of my salary, but next month I won’t make a single bet, so it’s always different. Although here you can get carried away quite easily and lose your entire salary if you lose control of yourself, so you need to be careful.

In my case I set aside 5% of my salary for leisure, it's an amount that I can live without. Thus, even I lose in gambling it won't affect me to the point I will chase it back. So for me, it depends on how much is your salary and of course the amount that you're willing to lose. Because if you gamble your money, don't expect that you can double it. Just enjoy the game to entertain yourself.

Anyway, regardless of the percentage, it's a must to prioritize first your responsibilities before setting aside a money meant for leisure.

So, now how much income do you have for a month? try to only use 15% or 20% of your income or salary to gamble for a whole month because it is impossible for you to use 50% of your salary or 100% of your salary to gamble, you must be crazy if you do this.
Regardles of how much ops salary could be, using 15% of that to gamble for me is too high because gambling is not something you can't predict it outcome for that one need to be as carful as possible so as to avoid making unbearable decisions.

Secondly, it is important to only gamble with money that is a spear cash flow and not something as important as salary because using your wages to gamble is an act of irresponsibility to me.

Quote
Gambling is a risky activity, unless you have a lot of cold money then there is nothing wrong with putting a lot of money into playing, but if your money is small and you are still a worker then don't gamble excessively.
Yeah very risky and just as I have mentioned also that one should only gamble with amount that you don't have need for such as cold money as you mentioned.

There are instances but you cant really be able to generalize that it is really something like this on which you could really be able to say that they are fixed or something. We do know that when it comes to fixed matches then it wont really be just that limited on esports but also in other sports as well which it isnt really just that limited into this. The good thing about poker is that it is something strategic and experience is something that could really be put you up on advantage in against into those players who arent that good against you but of course luck would really be always the determining factor too.
As for slots then we do know that this is something that against the house but there are still tons of people who do really love on engaging into this one.

As for talking about on how many % that you would really be using up for gambling into your salary then it would really be just that depending on you because not all would really be the same
in terms of salary amount but since we are talking about percentage then it would be just that a normal approach that you should really be just that spending up less.

As long as the money and percentage you intend to use out of your salary are not going to affect your daily life budget, then you are good to go. Some people gamble with up to 5–10% of their monthly earnings; that's up to them.

The percentage to be used should be based on the person's budget, how much they earn, and how much they can risk to gamble. If you are sure you can cope with that, then feel free to go ahead, but just learn how not to get addicted and start breaking your own rules.

I think the answer to this question varies from person to person because I think there are other things that need to be known in order to answer this question correctly. Do you have a dependent family? Do you have a house of your own? Do you have assets from which you earn passive income? Gambling is an entertainment for me. I don't spend a lot of money on gambling for entertainment when I should be spending it on things that are more important for my life. I think you should answer these questions for yourself and then ask yourself how much of my salary should I use for gambling.

This is a difficult question as each person will have their own answer due to the different circumstances they are facing on their lives.

If you are not earning enough money through your job then you should not gamble at all and you should instead focus on earning more money, but if you do and you would like to gamble occasionally then using 1% if your income makes sense, however if gambling is your main hobby then spending up to 5% of your income seems right to me, however spending that much money only makes sense if you really do not spend too much of your money on your other hobbies, otherwise that amount could be too high.

that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?

What I would do personally is to settle first all my ends, payments, savings, and finances. In your case, set aside money first to settle with your house rent, car payments, insurance, food, allowance, gas, clothes. Those should be settled first. After that, set aside for your savings and investments. After all of those, pretty much all the stresses you carry is off from your back. If there's any money left, you can then use that for your gambling. In that case you are no longer pressured to make the money.

The most important part here is that you are making importance of your life first before gambling. You are responsible on your life first and you are not taking anything for granted just to play and gamble.

I agree with that, because indeed when we receive a salary from our work, the thing that must be considered first is our needs, whether it is meeting or helping family needs such as paying monthly bills, or saving or others. After that and there is still money left over, then use it for our desires whether for entertainment or fulfilling our own desires such as buying property or others. Let's say there is still a lot of money left over from payday, but even with that leftover money, we must be able to limit the budget allocated to gambling, do not allocate large amounts of money such as spending all the remaining salary if the amount is large enough.
Also, if for example the remaining money from the salary is small, do not expect that by betting it on gambling it can make us get a large multiplier so that it can make a lot of money that was previously small, if like that there is a possibility that we will not be able to accept when the money at stake is lost or experience defeat with the gambling that is done.
I dont know why but I feel that when we talk about gambling and how much of our basic salary that we used to gamble, it best for the said individual the decide because salaries are not on the same amount while some persons can afford to gamble with 1% of they income at the end of the month, others could spare out 10% of their income and still be ok with it so that why I said when gamblers have access to funds that increases their urge to bet higher and since salaries comes once a month, ops could first States the exact amount he received as salary.
That's what you have to pay attention to, the point in my opinion is to have awareness of the income you get by balancing it well, thinking about what things you need to pay attention to first. because when we get our salary, it's impossible for us to immediately think about gambling, of course we have lives that we have to fulfill. We must pay attention to our own needs, don't think that we can use all our salary money on gambling, we should be able to put aside the desire to gamble first and prioritize other more important things.
There are no specific limits to allocating a certain amount of money to gambling, it's just that we have to be able to have our own limits, by allocating a certain amount of money to gambling without being too excessive. but with what you say it does make sense, but I think maybe they will have difficulty with their daily needs if indeed when they receive their salary they bet large amounts on gambling. On the other hand, they are indeed lucky if they can win, but even if they win, they will not necessarily use it properly.

Yeah, everyone should know what is their priority especially now that we're living with a lots of responsibilities and bills to pay, if you're a financial literate then you must know where we should put our money and income first before prioritizing our vices and leisures, besides it's good to settle important things first before doing some activities so that our mind will be focus in our gambling session and to avoid thinking a lot about our expenses.

When it comes to determining how much of your salary to use for gambling, it's wise to proceed with extreme caution. Gambling can be an addictive and destructive activity if not kept in check. While some view it as a fun diversion, the house always has the advantage in games of chance. The more you gamble, the more likely you are to lose money over time. Therefore, it's generally not advisable to gamble with any amount that you aren't fully prepared to lose. In my opinion,  gambling is no more than 1-2% of your overall income.  limiting gambling to entertainment budgets.

If you can do it, don't use any of that to gamble, most cases that you can do this is if you've got a side hustle where you can easily supplement your gambling habits since you've got an extra income. If you're not that person that I'm talking about, you probably shouldn't portion your salary to satisfy your gambling needs, most of the time, you're going to end up with nothing and that money that you will allocate will definitely be not enough for the gambling session. If you're the kind of person that's got a salary that's on the 5 or 6 digit territory already, you're probably good with a 10% of that being used for gambling if you really can't help it.

I dont admire having a specific amount for gambling. This amount might only be approximate. But having, for example $100/week, is bad and here is why. People might aim to gamble whole amount till the end. Lets say a person starts gambling and keep loosing. Just a bad day, stars in the sky are in wrong position, woke up with wrong foot and etc. If I was such a person in such situation, I would stop the game, or postpone it for few days. What will gambler with specific budget do? Gamble till whole weekly or monthly budget is lost.

The thing is that most gamblers would be better off if they simply saved (or even better, invested) their side hustle income instead of using that extra money for gambling.

But I guess the thing that is different is that they are buying some kind of "hope" to become rich, which won't happen if they simply save or invest the money.

Ironically, over time, they might get wealthier if they don't gamble.

You should be asking that yourself, not all of us have the same salary and expenses. I suggest to compute first your total expenses and prioritize that but if you are familiar with 50/30/20 budget rule (it's not fixed) I think you should follow that, for instance in 50/30/20 budget rule. The 50% should be for the needs including expenses, grocery, etc., the 20% should go to savings or emergency fund and the 30% remaining is for your wants though it doesn't mean that you should use that 30% to gamble (maybe if you really want) but with this budgeting you would be able to have a gambling bankroll and at the same time you still managed to have some savings and pay your expenses.

That budget rule is flexible and it doesn't need to be like my example, find what suits for you. But be responsible and stick to your budgeting and don't get greedy or addicted to gambling.

If your locality does not prohibit gambling, then you are completely free to use your salary to gamble. However, you should be careful when using money for urgent daily needs for gambling, this will be dangerous for you and your family if you lose. How much of your salary to use for gambling depends on your goals and current financial situation.

If the amount of money you have to spend to take care of your family is large, I think you should only spend 2-5% of your salary on gambling, considering that you use that money for personal entertainment purposes. If you do not have a family, or your family's financial burden is not too large, in addition to the amount of money you are required to pay monthly and a little reserve money, the rest you can spend on gambling.

There is no specific number, as long as the money you spend on gambling does not affect your quality of life and does not put you into debt. And the most important thing is that if you accidentally lose all the money you set aside in that month, you should stop, and only come back the next month when you have a salary, absolutely do not borrow to continue playing.
