It was indeed a narrow escape and i insist that Real Madrid remains one of the best team in the tournament this season, it's not very easy to play against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona can testify to that, they're very inform this season especially at home and now that they've got lots of players with very good experience, you could see how tough the second leg was and if Madrid didn't score twice at home they would've been the team leaving the competition instead.

Personally I think the call that the ball hit Alvarez twice was a very close and it is where the debate should be but as for if it did touched him then yes the call to cancel it was definitely a correct one.

The rule is if it was during an in game penalty it would have been given as an indirect penalty but if it was during a penalty shootouts after the game it is cancelled. It was seriously a harsh decision on Alvarez

I second this 100 times and say amen! The way how Real Madrid sometimes has made it to the next round in the past 10 years is unbelievable. Yes they are a great team and they have fight back qualities like barely any other team has. But this is not how any great team wants to advance. It reminds me of this one scene in a game when the goalkeeper and a player, I think Arsenal, played the game back and forth and the whistle had been blown before, the player didn't hear and picked up the ball to position it for a kick. The referee admitted it should have been a penalty, but he didn't want to destroy the game because of that misunderstanding.

This penalty is a farce. Question guys, could you see the double tap? I have tried to figure it out, but did Alvarez really double tap the ball? Undoubtedly, Real Madrid is a good team because they have always performed well.But Atletico Madrid's performance was much better than Real Madrid's in this match.They performed brilliantly from start to finish. After a tough run in the semi-finals, madrid have shown their resilience once again by reaching the quarter-finals now, a victory in controversy clearly colouring their move yesterday when eliminating Atletico Madrid, although I personally wouldn't deny a double tap on the ball due to Alvarez slipping, but I wouldn't want to say that the pinalty alvarez was the reason for Atletico defeat, In my opinion their mistake was after scoring the first goal in the first minute which instead of looking for a second goal and continuing to increase the attack when madrid game was chaotic, but instead the Atletico players preferred to defend in the first half, but apart from that, of course the attitude shown by Simeone was extraordinary after his team lost, he even entered the field to shout and ask fans to keep encouraging their players who were sad.

You need to see the melancholy look on Diego Simeone face when he had to go into the penalty shootouts with the defending champion. This is increasingly one of the suspense atmosphere anyone could talk about. One needed to care about the winning but it was weigh out track for Atletico de Madrid. Real Madrid are a great team and they have proven it time and time again. I had predicted earlier that Real Madrid would be the favourites to win the match. Madrid won the first leg 2-1 and continued their winning streak in the second leg with a penalty shootout. They reached the quarter-finals of the Champions Trophy and this is their best achievement of the season. a very exciting match between PSG VS Liverpool honestly I did not expect this match to be won by PSG because I thought Liverpool who had won in the 1st leg who had already pocketed 1 goal would be more enthusiastic in today's match against PSG and won but of course now I have to let go of my money that I lost when betting on this match because I bet on Liverpool's victory.
