This is so annoying but Arteta and the management of Arsenal won't see all these wasted chances, if the Gunners have a natural number 9 I don't see why this first half would be goalless, 2 to 3 clear chances gone begging. How on earth will these guys win Madrid if they have more wasted opportunities? Arsenal are doing pretty well and they are making Madrid defend more than they should have, that's on like Madrid that knows how to attack and getting their opponent fall back but tonight the reverse is the case. I expect Arteta to urge Merino to always put pressure on the defense of the opposition and he have to make sure to follow Saka up when he's with the ball to tap in any crosses that comes in the box of Madrid, if Madrid get any of those chances that would be the end.

Surely Arsenals problem is a proper Top 9 that understands what he is doing.
The management has been so nonchalant about this and it’s actually very frustrating to see. Like how can you go across 2 transfer windows and refuse to sign a striker when options were certainly available in the market
 These are the kind of games that doesn’t need speculation or near misses, it should be a point blank attack from a striker that can turn things around at any point in time. Merino might have been scoring and rescuing the team but still that doesn’t make him a striker. The management should get 1 asap

Real Madrid like always waiting on their counter attack and they might even score from them with how much space they have when its a counter attack

Indeed Arsenal was clearly the better team over the first 45 minutes, they could easily have been at least a goal ahead, but it's still all to play for in the 2nd half. I hope Arsenal can just keep playing the way they did in the first half while not overcommitting men to the attack, they should surely be able to get a goal.

Arsenal are playing a nice game in the mean time (first half) , they play as a home side not giving Madrid the chance to gain overall  possession of the ball. Madrid defense is a real issue for them in this game. Although both sides have created some crucial goal opportunities but just couldn't make a goal out of those chances. The game could take a different turn with goals in the second half.

Arsenal are indeed playing a good game but the absence of a striker is being really felt because by now the Gunners should have been several goals up if their chances had been buried by a striker. Saka is making good impact but the efforts are going begging and I'm just hoping that they can be calm enough to bury their chances because go be frank Madrid are still finding their feet and aren't even confident enough.
 Arsenal can do better in the second half and I believe that if they add more energy to their game, they will surely get a goal from their visitors. For now courtois is being mindful not to make mistake and if Arsenal can capitalize on the defense that's a bit shaky, they will be rewarded.

The second half half has just entered with an opener goal for Arsenal in a solid but beautiful free kick from Declan Rice in the 58th minutes. Arsenal is now leading with a lone goal and still pressuring Madrid in a way I never expected. Can Arsenal take all three points tonight or Madrid might level before full-time?

What a hot from Declan Rice to get the ball past Thibaut Courtois from the free kick. Alaba concedes a free kick as he fouls Saka close to the 18 yard box. It was a long range but the English man beat the Belgium goalkeeper with a shot to get the gunners ahead in the tie. Now Real Madrid concedes again for the 9th consecutive games. I'm not really sure so far this season that Real Madrid has kept a clean sheet.

I was thinking the match will be a easy win for Real Madrid in the game, but the two teams didn’t even play anything special in the first half of the match, the first half of the match was just kind of boring to me, before the match started, I was thinking it’s going to be a interesting one, but am just surprised with the way they both performed in the first half of the match. From the way they played in the first half of the match, I won’t really be surprise if the match ends as draw, because they both didn’t play well in the match.

I was thinking Real Madrid will have scored like two goals in the first half of the match, but to my greatest surprise, they created just few chances, and they missed  those chances. Real Madrid defense is kind of weak in the match, because Arsenal are penetrating into their defense, just that they are unable to score any goal also.

This was just how I expected it to be today at Arsenal home stadium, I knew Madrid wouldn't be able to win Arsenal easily at Emirates stadium but I expected them to be able to hold Arsenal and try to get a less goal margin in this leg so that way they will have the advantage when Arsenal visits them at Santiago Bernebue.
Arsenal is not a bad team and they are capable of challenging Real Madrid. The game will be boring but I believe the 2nd leg will be very interesting one. Arsenal is already a goal up but there is every chance that the match could end as draw just as you said.

From time it is obvious that Real Madrid is not a team that defends so their defense is not so strong and their power lies in their attack.

But I don't think that Havertz would fill that gap that Arsenal has. They need a top striker like Mbappe or Kane, strikers who score more than 25 goals a season. Havertz is more average in my opinion and not the same level as those top strikers the teams like Liverpool, Real Madrid or Barcelona have. It is something they have not had for many seasons now and maybe that was what was missing to get them onto the level they have to be to win titles.

Inter scored and gave the ball to Bayern and they are also playing very good defense.

The match is played in Inter's half but Inter narrows the area so well that Bayern can only pass.
Bayern's missing players are very obvious. Especially Musiala's absence is very obvious.
I don't know if Bayern can win this match but if they go to the return match with missing players, Bayern will say goodbye in this round.

Arsenal doing wonders in this match, when i saw their energy in the first half i was waiting for a surprise in the second half and here comes the goal to compliment their efforts, if they can maintain the lead till full time it will definitely be a good achievement for them. It will be lovely to see Arsenal win Real Madrid so that some analyst will know that football predictions is not just as obvious as it seems.

While typing i just saw that Arsenal has scored a second goal and the match is currently sitting at 2:0, second goal is courtesy of Declan Rice again and that makes it a brace for the England defensive midfielder.

Saying that you are not sure if Real Madrid has kept a clean sheet this season sounds ridiculous because they actually got clean sheets in some of their games this season.

Can anyone tell me why Arsenal is given 2.05 to win Real Madrid and Real Madrid win is at 3.6 odd? I find this very strange because I had the opinion that Real Madrid was going to win the match but seeing the odd, I'm a little skeptical in that match. In cases like this, it is either there is information of injuries on the side of the bigger team or some form of news that will make them not play at optimal performance, which I have not heard about Real Madrid tonight. Any opinion is welcomed.

Apart from home, Arsenal is also good to face Real Madrid.
The match was almost over the first 45 minutes (half time), Arsenal's game still made me assume if Real Madrid could not beat Arsenal even though Real Madrid when the match entered the 20th minute began to find the rhythm of the game so the percentage of ball possession began to be balanced.
A draw is still the best scenario, it seems.

Arsenal pattern is really giving Real Madrid a tough time mainly because of the fact that they have a lot of midfielders who are close marking the Madrid team, Arsenal are not good in shooting the ball from outside the 18 yard box, if not they would have gotten a goal in the first half, the playing pattern of driving the ball to the goal mouth before attempting to score isn't the best for them, you could see the likes of kylian mbappé and vinicius junior will likely strike a shot from outside the 18 yard box, Madrid are more aggressive on the front line than Arsenal at least from what I've seen from the first half.

Arsenal played brilliantly and have now scored three goals. They are in much better shape than in the first half and the hero of the match was undoubtedly Declan Rice. He did an incredible job by scoring two goals. I can't remember any other player scoring two free kicks in the Champions League in recent years. If Arsenal advance, they will owe it to Rice and his free kicks.

Arsenal is obviously performing exceptionally great tonight, can't believe Arsenal is trashing the King of Champions League Real Madrid by 3:0 now, the second half is really becoming so interesting. The performance of Arsenal in the first half was very suspicious and i was like it's this really the Arsenal i know or they borrowed players to play this match today. As it stands now, they should just try and not concede any goals till the match ends, they need to play a defensive game now and protect the 3 goals they have already scored. Arsenal is playing well, but they need to switch to a faster game if they want to win. I'm not sure if they are good at that, but around the 70-minute mark, I think the whole gameplay is going to change from Real Madrid.

Before now, I was being so bold to say that Real Madrid will eliminate Arsenal even in a twinkle of an eye. But I have changed my stance since I saw Saka play against Fulham. Since Bukayo Saka is back, there is great hope for Arsenal. I so much believe the capacity of Saka and I know he could pull surprices even when not expected.

I have known the Champions league and how it works. Team doesn't win CL but individuals do. Saka might decide to pull a surprise that day and that will be it.

I know what I said and I was so confident about it. I have even been saying it al over social media. I told people that Arsenal has a great opportunity because there is no favorite in this season champions league. The favorite was Liverpool but they were eliminated, making everyone have an equal opportunity to win.

While I was pointing at Saka to pull the surprises, I did not know that Rice was planning something special. Although Saka also impacted the game. With the football I watched tonight, I do not think there is an opportunity for Real Madrid in the second leg.

Who else is having regrets about not betting on Arsenal? The bookies gave us really good odds and we slept on them. Arsenal are winning Real Madrid 3 goals to nil. Arsenal have dominated the game since the beginning, the goals should have been up to five if not for the incredible saves by Courtios. If anyone bet Arsenal to win, I am sure they expect Arsenal to win the game by such a goal margin.

Arsenal have a good day today, while Real Madrid have an ordinary one   It's hard to play when a third of the team is in the infirmary, the players are playing out of position and don't remember how it should be "correctly". This defeat surprised many, but it was visible from afar, the whole season was not optimal and I think at the end of it we will see a new coach. At the moment Real has a chance to miss all the titles they are chasing, not only the Champions League where everything is already over.

I am speechless because I didn't believe what happened. Madrid is out of this competition because they cannot win at home with four goals. This is a big humiliation on Real Madrid and I respect Arsenal because I underestimated them initially. This is a brilliant performance.
