I talked about this with buwaytress (and a few users more) a long time ago, it was like a two years ago when bookies cut all the tail on odds, i remember how you can find odds at 100+ or even at 1500 in some crazy shot, today is impossible they cut it super hard, and is impossible to us to get real shots, who is gonna risk some money in dortmund at 21? impossible.
Yee and the tails are cut on both sides. Imagine placing a bet with odds of 1.01!
I won’t do this even if the result is already announced (i.e. the probability of the event = 100%), but there will still be 3 to 4 months left before the payment (depending on when Bayern officially becomes champion). These odds are probably just there to scare people away from this market. Technically, the odds exist, but no sane bettor would place a bet. Unfortunately, I see the same thing in live betting: almost impossible events are rated at 20-40, although I wouldn’t bet even on 100.
Remember just a decade ago you could get 5000/1 on Leicester? Today, you get max 300/1 on the shittiest team to win Prem League.
I'm to a certain extent disillusioned, and that helps explain why I've stopped betting as frequently or stopped chasing the long odds too as even 10/1 is next-to-impossible to find now when you clearly have an underdog who deserves 20/1.
Just two or three years ago, for example I used to see Yes/No both podium finishes at 1.1+ for No for middling teams and that seemed fair given there were podium finishes for such teams once or twice every season (of roughly 25 races). Last season, you would get 1.01... so you get 1% back on an event that has a roughly 10% probability. Nonsense.
Yesterday, Djokovic. Down 2-1 and trailing 5-4 on the 4th set. This is an old guy playing 3 hours, after surviving 4 hours 2 days ago. You know what the best odds was? 6/1. Bookies are telling us, once in 6 such situations Djoker would overturn a 14-year-younger Alcaraz with tiebreak and then win the final set? Please. Idiot that I was, I still took it.
