That's the common way of detecting if there's a multi account and if they're being abused by them. It's probably true that they have other ways through detecting suspicious activities. But that's the first clue they have and why someone has to do it when they can only use their account once if they want to stick around. And if findings are right, they didn't just guess it right but as you've said, they've done such parameters in determining if the user have abused the system or not through their own ways.

The pre match odds did not reflect well on the competitiveness that Aston Villa can be particularly with Unai Emery. It was value wise tempting to see Villa at 7.5 even when it was not expected to win. The 0-0 first half came very close to eliminating the +2.5 goals bet because the two teams were playing conservatively and concentrating on the strategies.
