Yes, it's hard to accept losing to gambling. We tend to go until the last consequences, that is, until losing all our funds in a desperate attempt to revert the scenario in our favour. You are right, I do believe that anyone that can not have self control over their gambling habits, then the person should not be gambling, because they will definitely encounter big problem as a consequence of their addiction. Yes, it's like digging a deeper hole in the hope of finding a water source while they are doing it in a barren land where the chances of getting water are very small, just like what gamblers do with the scenario you mentioned where they keep trying harder by making more deposits in the hope of getting a win to restore the situation but the result is that they actually lose more money. Yes, self-control is one thing that is very helpful when someone is involved in gambling, but it does not mean completely avoiding a gambler from losses but to minimize so that the amount of their losses is not too large, namely by controlling emotions and every action they will do in the sense of preventing them from various excessive actions that have the potential to lead them to lose more money. Gambling strictly for fun does not reduce the chances of the gambler losing some or most of his or her bet, infact, let me say that if gambling for fun had a way it increases our chances of winning, I did probably be a millionaire from  gambling by now because it's been like 3 to 4 years since I stopped gambling for the money but for fun.
