I don’t like that it includes altcoins in the basket either, but if it picks the top ones, as it seems, and gives more weight to Bitcoin relative to its market cap, at the very least, it won’t be too bad.

Certainly, this (shitcoins included) is much better than the EU, where they continue pushing the launch of CBDCs and the implementation of the MiCA regulation. It’s like night and day.

It's good news for Bitcoin from an investment perspective, but from a Bitcoiner's perspective including those shitcoins is actually VERY LAUGHABLE.

Bitcoin Bear Peter Schiff gave the most possible statement for Bitcoin that he could make, and it included "What's the rational for an XRP Reserve"?

Trump does it once again to pump his own bag and WLFI. People are in the hype of crypto being a part of treasury. I wonder whether senate will do agree to pass the bill.

I remember some in senate were against this bill, but gonna be a long drama for sure.

Honestly, i'm not a fan of putting XRP as a part of treasury, this makes no sense. I think treasury bill must be only for bitcoin, not alts.

If he doesn't mention crypto and doesn't do anything related to crypto, people will complain that he is a liar and doesn't keep his promises. But when he mentioned them and planned to fulfill his promise to the crypto community, people complained that he was manipulating the market. It's hard to please a crowd. .

Whether the Senate and Congress pass it or not is their business, Trump has no right to decide. We can't blame him if they don't pass them. What we should care about is that as long as Trump proposes, plans to establish cryptocurrency reserve, it means he has kept his promise  to us and he deserves respect.

Interestingly, most people on the forum seemed quite disappointed that Trump also mentioned altcoins, but meanwhile, on social networks like X or Telegram…many investors seem to be in favor of altcoins being mentioned as well. This shows that  people support the coin they hold and it is all for personal gain, nothing more.

It's surprising, unexpected as anything almost never thought of prior to this time that Donald Trump would choose altcoins over bitcoin in his strategic reserve  move is near betrayal to the bitcoin community.

But why SOL, ADA or even an XRP reserve? Well it's obvious these altcoins has in one way another some connection to America and it's like Trump is personal on prioritizing American projects in the Reserve. I can't say I was not expecting this with the people that were around him and Eric Trump. XRP Founder, Cardano's Founder etc. I do find it stupid, because not even ADA holders use ADA but well...

Not only that, both SOL and XRP are highly centralized for different reason. SOL require enterprise-level hardware/internet to run validator node[1], while XRP uses proof of authority (PoA) mechanism[2]. Although we shall see percentage of money will be used to buy those altcoins.

Actually I don't expect anything yet with other alts he mentioned since there's nothing happened with Bitcoin yet.

So maybe he should implement for creation of Bitcoin reserve first rather than discussing other things. Since its like he's just click baiting people and want people to hope for something that won't gonna happen. I don't think its good for people to get happy with just a post maybe they should do some action first before thinking about other things since for sure if they can hit the first target and implement it for sure many people would be happy with those developments.

The strategic reserve can start with seized coins but later by assessment, if this strategic reserve works fine, the USA will possibly consider to DCA cryptocurrencies to expand its national strategic reserve.

If Bhutan, El Salvador which are small countries can do it and succeed, the USA can do it and even do it better. They are a bigger nation, with much considerable more money to spend, and effects from their news are big already, so their actual action in accumulation can bring bigger impacts on this market, capital inflow and surely price will be benefited.

He did not say anything like this and there is space and chance for his announcement on Bitcoin and Ethereum in future. He knows very well about news impact so he knows what he does with his announcement. We only are unsure about his thinking on Bitcoin and Ethereum, and whether he actually wants to have Bitcoin and Ethereum for the strategic reserve. I believe he wants them and only did not announce it yet.

I think the market is waiting to see what's going to happen in the Crypto Summit (held at the White house) on Friday. According to the Crypto Czar (David Sacks) there's is more to come. Let's just hope that whatever "valuable coins" he's planning to add to the list, are not going to take an allocation as big as bitcoin's.

If that's where this is heading, then the announcement isn't really that big since the U.S. isn’t actually risking anything. All they did was seize funds through law enforcement, then convert them into reserves instead of selling them off, like what the UK did.

It would have been more impactful if they actively bought Bitcoin, showing real commitment. But maybe that’s just how the market reacts -- once people hear the words "Crypto Strategic Reserve," the automatic assumption is that Bitcoin is going to the moon.

I'm also confused with the information, even if it's clear that truly he will be me making a reserve not 100% in submission to Bitcoin but involving a few crypto currency really changed a lot. From the image in page one were he said Bitcoin and Ethereum as the heart of reserve means they are holding the bigger portions, his team behind the whole reserve strategy knows their reasons of diversifying, but the actual dream of that reserve was just on Bitcoin alone.

I do agree about bitcoin and ethereum being part of the reserve. I think that it can be a good addition since these are the two biggest cryptocurrencies and had proven themselves to be useful to investors and users alike. They have been the longest standing cryptocurrencies as well and many truth them.

What I find quite peculiar is the addition of other coins. XRP and SOL are categorized as memecoins, are they not? They might be the coins doing well today but until when will it do well? This also gives a lot of acknowledgment to the memecoin sector which I am not the biggest fan of. I would like to see how this turns out in the future.
