what's your thoughts on many of the 19:00 comments (also over @ fok) dev?
We can understand the comments, but also want to give a fair opportunity to miners from around the globe. Launch time countdown: http://www.altcoincalendar.info/coins/332-NLGAdded pools and launch date to ANN "Around the globe"... Well... If you live in the USA or UK it's a fair opportunity... If you live in India or Australia, it's not a fair opportunity... 24 time-zones, can't please everyone... But... It's a Dutch coin, for ****sake... So launch it when everyone is awake in the Netherlands... |

If you live in India or Australia, it's not a fair opportunity... 24 time-zones, can't please everyone... But... It's a Dutch coin, for ****sake... So launch it when everyone is awake in the Netherlands... Agree. 18 PM is in my opinion a much better time for example, as most of the working Dutch citizens are going home then / are at home then  . |

So it's true a massive GPU farm will be mining this.
Damn, that's going to make it almost pointless for single GPU miners like myself to even attempt to mine this coin considering the difficulty will be insane in no time.

Why not go with scrypt-n or something else to protect the network from ASICS?
Then it also stands more apart from EFL.
This is just getting-rich-quick launch!

Ok guys! My dearest apologies for not immediately listening, in fact we were definitely listening and pushing really hard to launch sooner. The reason we set the launch time at 23:00 dutch time, was because of the KGW patch we had to implement. The good news is we did! This means we can launch two hours earlier at 21:00 (dutch time), which means 7PM UTC. Thanks all for you feedback!
Also we would like to announce that WaterLooDown will be helping us with our support department. There is a great article in Dutch news about EFL where we are also mentioned, which shows us competition doesn't have to be a bad thing, in fact it only improves quality. So officially from the Guldencoin team: Good luck EFL! But don't rest, we are coming...
Ok iedereen! Mijn oprechte excuses voor het niet direct luisteren, maar we luisterde wel en waren hard bezig om eerder te kunnen lanceren. De reden dat we 23:00 hadden gekozen was vanwege de KGW patch die we moesten implementeren. Het goede nieuws is dat dit op tijd gaat lukken en we daardoor twee uur eerder kunnen lanceren om 21:00 (nederlandse tijd), wat 7PM UTC is. Allemaal bedankt voor jullie feedback!
Ook willen we aankondigen dat WaterLooDown ons gaat helpen met de support afdeling. Er is een heel goed artikel vandaag in de Nederlandse pers over EFL, waar we ook in worden genoemd. Dit laat ons zien dat concurrentie niet per se slecht hoeft te zijn en juist de kwaliteit verbeterd. Dus officieel van het Guldencoin team: Veel succes EFL! Maar rust niet, want we komen eraan...
I am exceptionally happy to be helping where I can with Gulden, I honestly believe if there is one country that can make a huge impact on virtual currencies it will be the Netherlands. A very recent example of this is a program that started and created in the Netherlands and is now extremely popular around the world is a music reality show called the Voice and I know that if the citizens of the Netherlands get behind virtual currencies like Gulden it will go viral. Also Netherlands is by far one of the most tech savvy nations in the world when you look at population ratios and I have no doubt Gulden will be a success. |
