Dev Update:

Android wallet has been updated again and in the play store.

New security checkpoints added.

This was done as the number of users using smartphones have been increasing by the week and will be done once a month going forward so new users don't have to wait for long sync times.

For those that weren't around over the weekend the following updates have occurred.

1. New Block Explorer built from scratch by one of our Devs. It is currently in Beta, please have a look at let us know what features you would like to see added.

https://explorer.guldencoin.com
https://forum.guldencoin.com/index.php?topic=496.0  --> For more info from Geert himself.

2. Forums have been moved behind cloudflare with the increased DDOS attacks we been having. We also took the time to update the look of the forums. (Ticker will be put back soon)
https://forum.guldencoin.com

3. As mentioned above , new Android Wallet, checkpoints to be added monthly.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the above.

Keep up the great work! I almost missed this one.

Problem around hash spread is getting worse last days.

Actual figures:
Date              NLG Received by Gf7wGA  Blocks found   % of 576000
2014-09-01   336.000,26530000         336000            58,3%
2014-09-02   412.002,55330000         412000            71,5%
2014-09-03   461.001,62930000         461000            80,0%
2014-09-04   474.000,98565000         474000            82,3%
2014-09-05   497.001,14100000         497000            86,3%
2014-09-06   477.001,76475005         477000            82,8%
2014-09-07   518.001,02310000         518000            89,9%

Apart from a possible 51% attack, there's another problem: you see that other miners quit because Gf7wGA cheats by mining only at low diff.

In the event NLG goes into top 20 marketcap(and hold) the network hash will increase to a point where miner Gf7wGA will have less of an effect, this must be motivation for the team and community to push harder for updates, I don't think the current pace of updates can be kept up personally but even if September and October is half as good as August, the coin will be above Feathercoin in marketcap by middle of November.

I'm not so sure about that. I'm almost sure Gf7 is the same guy as our old friend Gd something. The day that wallet stopped this wallet started... At that moment he varied his hashrate around 50% with 2-300 Mhs now he does the same with 7-15 Ghs... I also still believe he has other intentions then mining only but can't pinpoint what.

Thanks for running the numbers and sharing this table!  Very informative.  I wholeheartedly disgree with some claims on here that the mining activity associated with Gf7wGA is in any way good for the coin.  What if 4 or 5 big hashpower miners catch on to this trick and they all try to jump in at the same time? all pointing their rigs or pools at NLG when the difficult drops.  how high would the difficulty spike be?

Not sure what I can do to help, but over the next couple days I'll try connecting to and logging large public auto-switching scrypt mining pools, to see if I can correlate the activities of one the big players on poolpicker.eu to Gf7wGA.  At least then we'll know who we're dealing with.   let me know if this doesn't make any sense to try, as I've got better things to do with my time. Is Gf7 Lucjver?  If so, I can tell you that he has a considerable amount of hashpower.  He hops on my TAG pool from time to time, and totally dominates the TAG network.  He was one of the first people I ever saw on a pool with that amount of scrypt hashing power.  So much so that the first time he hopped on my TAG pool, I started checking logs because I thought the numbers were jacked up.

@markanth: Your help is appreciated.
The fact that there is in total 8M+ NLG received on Gf7 and not kwowing the intensions is scary isn't it? I can't query the blockchain at the moment for the accurate received NLG. If there is another Gd adress it's even more scary. BTW I have no problem with honestly mined coins.

I don't think so. Lucjver is mining at a more constant rate as far as I have seen.

Does this guy having 8M+ coins honestly matter?  I understand that everyone is worried about him dumping and killing the price.  Stuff like that happens.  Look at what has happened to BTC over the last few years.  Up, down, up, down... panic on both swings.  I'm not worried about the one guy selling 8M+ coins.  I'm worried about the weak hands that will panic sell the price to nothing and then let the guy who just sold 8M+ coins buy 20M+ coins.

Lesson to be learned is have a steady hand and think things through before you panic buy/sell.

As far as I have seen Lucjver he is visible in the pools he mines. This person hides from day one and at the times I saw Lucjver mining at Hardcore (and he is there at this very moment with 1Ghs) this person was mining solo.
I agree with Fuse it doesn't really matter what he does, but gaining this much percentage of the hashpower is annoying for other miners and induces a risk. The only thing that worries me is the fact he keeps mining even in times it's not profitable to mine NLG at all. When I noticed that I got supicious and still try to figure out what other reasons, gains, you name it this person can have.

What do u call constant? I've seen him go from 50MH to 350 and currently he's at 1000mh.
On hardcore there's also another player now 'Kloink' with 1200MH

Constant in that he is always mining.  Lucjver is always mining something.  He may move hashpower around, but he sticks to his core coins.  Even coins like TAG that are not profitable but were/are a decent prospect.  I could reach out to him and see if he'll join our discussion... even if it is to just share his setup.  I'd love to see what he's working with.

Exactly. Respect for Lucjver. He's mining the hard blocks!
Kloink is not a guy to worry about. He's also mining hard blocks and is not even in the top 25 at http://nlg.hardcoreminers.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=blockfinder.
For those who doubt what the problem is with dishonestly gathered coins: it's market disruptive. The coins can be dumped if the 'owner' was able to get them to cheap. If you'd payed a fair price, you would think twice before selling to low.

Fellas pls, shall I wait on purchasing nlg or not really?
I feel like the market is stabilising for now, maybe I should acquire some nlg's right now?

Wait for 600-800 to buy in again, sell pressure is building up all the time. iOS is the next dev release which is only going to be end of this month and a few more merchants most likely.
Make sure you buyin before iOS release.

They will, just like the blockchain app which I use on my iPad.

For what reasons would they decline?

Even if they reject it, and not saying they will, you can always sideload the app.  I know it's not the ideal situation for the masses, but it gets the job done for those people that absolutely have to have the app on their phone.

@CIG: I pointed cgminer at clevermining.com and logged for a few hours.. seems to correlate 100% to Gf7wGAwJGDLfoHcNCRLKZqpk2EQU5ixA6c.  see the activity log snippet below (i filtered out a lot of the garbage).  The highlighted hashes and difficulty match up to the guldencoin blocks 114389 to 114397. Clevermining switches to NLG and keeps mining NLG until crossing a high difficulty threshold.  With 120 GH of hashing power available they can churn through blocks like butter.. then switch off to something else, leaving the hardcoremining pool and others stuck mining the more difficult blocks.  I can see why honest miners would get discouraged mining NLG.  The only bright spot (for traders at least?) is the coins are likely dumped onto the market for BTC on a regular basis as clevermining has BTC payouts to make.. which I guess is a good thing as waterloo suggests?..  cheers --Mark

PS: I'm fairly confident I got this right, but someone feel free to double check me.. i only got into crypto a few months ago so maybe I'm misinterpreting what these logs represent.

Then why not implement Digishield?

This was brought up before when discussing the KGW.  Digishield might help even out some of these peaks, and keep small miners like myself interested(not that I'm not actively mining NLG anyway).

Hi Fuse,

We also looking at DGW2.

Please comment on what you guys think is better between the 2.

I have started talking to the team about this as we do want to keep our dedicated miners happy and for longterm network stability.
