Xabi Alonso is a better coach than Arbeloa and if Real Madrid had not sack him, they would have gotten better results in this season. Their failed season, a second one after the last season, truly began with that bad management decision months ago.

I probably agree with you. Alonso is a good manager. And he proved it in the bundesliga. Leverkusen won the title without losing  the whole season. It was incredible.

Real Madrid did not give Alonso enough time. They should have given him more time. Also , Alonso did not have a good relationship with several players. This could be one of the reasons for his dismissal.

Alonso should have been fired and an  experienced manager should have been  appointed. Arbeloa has very little experience. Even then, the Madrid management fired alonso and gave arbeloa the responsibility. I do not know the reason for their decision. Alonso is undoubtedly  a smarter manager compared to arbeloa.

 Arsenal will need to step up their game if they want to go far in the UCL. Yesterday's game against Sporting was so very boring and more of the Gunners defending than making moves. As it stands, they'd face Atletico Madrid and I saw how ferocious the Spanish side were in the second leg and if Arsenal know they will not take this competition serious it's better to have allowed Sporting to have won them last night.
Real Madrid will now have their domestic cup to fight for because despite their efforts, they still got dropped by Bayern Munich and it was made easy due to the red card given to Edward Camavinga. For me, that game was more fierce and looking like the finals and that's the kind of fire I expected from the Gunners. I hope they don't bottle it this time around.

Arsenal will face Atletico Madrid in the semifinals which I’m not even surprised. Arsenal humiliated Atletico Madrid the last time they meet in the group stage, but I don’t think the same thing is happening this time around, Arsenal have lose their form and Atletico Madrid players will give their best to make it to the next round. I can’t wait to see them play again.

But I’m on the opposite side here. As I already said inthis post, facing Arsenal is not the best option for Atletico because their tactical style of play is quite different, and I am in doubt whether Simeone will manage to adapt his charges to Arsenal’s constantly changing structural positioning. Sporting could be an easier target for them because the latter prefer to keep the ball and occupy more predictable areas.

Yea I think Sporting would have been preferable for Atletico Madrid than Arsenal because in that group stage Arsenal beat Atletico Madrid 4 null in the second half of the game after their first half draw. So I don't really know how this semifinals is going to look like for Atletico Madrid but judging with what happened in the group stage I will say Arsenal will qualify for champions league finals not sure though just what I feel but Atletico Madrid performance this time has improved.

PSG vs Sporting would break the PSG vs Inter final record, I think Inter fans would like that  
I don't know why you don't like the Atletico - Arsenal semi-final, it's haramball at its finest. I can't say I'd like to watch these games, but I'd like to see how this matchup plays out. It seems Arteta has nothing but set pieces to rely on, while Simeone has plenty of traps like red cards and other tricks. And I think that Simenone, as the more experienced one, will be the favorite.

I would also love to know who would win a match between Lincoln Red Imps and Runavik  (Gibraltar and Faroe Islands leading teams) but I wouldn't watch that game!  
Let's be real here, we had better matches than this 2 round ago, like Chelsea vs PSG and Real vs City.

The whole thing feels weird, it's like one of the semifinals should have been the final, it's beyond me how Arsenal is dropping to 3x after those two games and their PL matches.

It shows a lot of character coming back from being down a goal 3 times, and in the end even winning says even more about them. With resilience like this they can also beat PSG in the semi. Well maybe I worded that wrong, not can, MUST beat PSG!

Both teams scored goals at the beginning after mistakes made by their goalkeepers. Bayern managed to equalize and win mostly due to Eduardo Camavinga's stupid second yellow card. I don't know if we should put all the blame to Camavinga.

Betting on Over 2 doesn't seem to be a bad thing in a big game like this.

I feel sorry for Barcelona, but they got what they deserved, in the first leg it went badly, in the return it went better but still it wasn't enough to get through.
They suffer too much from the defensive and in all this time they have not been able to strengthen this weakness.

I understand the desire and the wish to beat them, and I do hope that they do for their sake, but let's face it, Bayern is a much better team and will do a lot better. I think that's the most important difference, we should not be guessing how things could go wrong, and we should be guessing how this could be a very wrong situation at the end.

Real Madrid were right up until half-time, and played a big role in winning. But one player, Guler, was sent off after being shown a red card, which made the difference in the game. Real Madrid could not hold on to the game until the end, but Bayern took the opportunity and scored two goals in a matter of minutes to win.
Real Madrid's failure here was because they failed to provide support at the end. Real Madrid wasted the results of their long work in this way, but Bayern were able to make their success even more attractive.

All my predictions have come true after the 1st leg. But I really admired Real Madrid's game last night...    They were beyond the expectations.

PSG weren't very comfortable in the 2nd half but still secured it nicely. Barcelona messed up again by a red card! Arsenal had very boring 2 legs and I think ATM can even eliminate them considering this effort.

Indeed! Real Madrid is the king of the CL in the end. They didn't give up easily. If they had a better manager than Arbeloa I believe they could have lifted a trophy this season.

Both Real Madrid and Bayern fought extra hard to win and scored many goals However, Real Madrid ultimately lost again in the second leg with a score of 4-3. Now, real Madrid's Champions League campaign this season has come to an end, and Bayern must certainly be forced to let Bayern advance to the semifinals. Even in the 86th minute, with Real Madrid already leading 2-3, I thought the match would go to extra time, but it all went to waste when Camavinga's reckless action resulted in a red card, allowing Bayern Munich to capitalize player on the advantage and score two goals, securing a 4-3 victory. With Real Madrid eliminated in the quarterfinals, Real Madrid is again trophyless this season.

It was a good game, but when you're conceding six goals in two matches, it's clear you won't be able to reach the Champions League semifinals with a defense like that. It's a shame Bayern will be playing PSG in the semifinals, in my opinion that would be the perfect Champions League final, because they're the two strongest teams right now. I'll try to predict that Bayern will beat PSG, and in the other semifinal, Arsenal will beat Atletico, and Bayern will be champions in the final. Bayern have a great attack that can compensate for any defensive shortcomings, and I think that will be enough for them to win.

What are you saying? A team that won Thier first leg and qualified on aggregate isn't ready for the champions league? If you were talking this at the league phase of the champions league, it would have looked nice seeing that we are talking about points but at this point that all you need is to ensure you qualify to the next round, I don't think arsenal have done anything below what's expected of a potential champion.

They had the option of qualifying through a win or a draw but what matters most is that they qualified. They went through by drawing against sporting, I don't think we should expect too much from them. It's a game at a time and for you to even plan on doing well in the next round, you need to qualify first. Take real Madrid and Barca as a case study and you won't underate the effort of arsenal.
