Tough one for Athletico Madrid tonight as this game is turning out to become a test of their strength and resilient. Barcelona is taking the game to ATM as they put the pressure on ATM today. The game is getting more tensed as the first half draws to an end. Lookmon goal has given Atletico more confidence that they can do it. The reason why Barcelona had the opportunity to score that 2 goal was because Atletico Madrid decided to play a defensive game and that cannot work for Barcelona. Barcelona will always find a way to score you even though you are defending no level of defense can stop them from scoring, Atletico Madrid should have learnt their lesson from the Copa del Rey second leg match that they played against Barcelona, now that Atletico Madrid after the second goal scored by Barcelona have decided to come to play ball with them. It's likely the managers will make substitutions in the last half hour of the second half. Because if the match continues like this, Barcelona will be eliminated. Barcelona needs to score at least one goal to take the match to extra time. They are constantly creating chances with Yamal and getting into many scoring positions, but goalkeeper Musso is having a pretty good game. I will be happy if in the end it is Atletico Madrid who qualify for the next round.

l don't even understand Someone sometimes, before the match everywhere on social media was about Atletico minutes playing defensively throughout the game and Diego Someone couldn't surprise us by coming out to play normal football he proved everyone right by turning to defensive approach. If he wants to progress, he should better come out and play this match till the end. If he approach the second half with defense mentality Barcelona will remove them.

It would be very hard for Atletico Madrid to play defensively all through and come out victorious. Barca is a good attacking side and we have seen that with two quick goals. And I was expecting more until Ademola Lookman scored to give his side the advantage. I don't know the tactics Diego Simeone would adopt in the second half. But my assumption is that coming out to play this game would be better. Nevertheless,  I have seen Athletico adopt this bus packing style and still win the game.

Keeping a clean sheet in this type of fixture is something that wasn’t going to happen. It just 2 goals on the aggregate before the kick off and Atletico Madrid knows that, Barcelona would most certainly get goals off them and as such, the most they could do to make qualifying difficult for Barcelona is to get a goal or two with hopes that they could hold Barcelona off to just 2 or 3 goals.
When you’re trying to go all out and keep a high line, there would be margin for error and once Atletico got that and the through ball came to Lookman, he made sure it did count.

The first half result was a very good one just that the coach of Barcelona failed to signal his players to defend their goals after scoring the second goal if they had done that in the second half it would still be more tough for Atletico Madrid because they will be scared of coming out to attack and Barca will mess them up with that strategy. In the second half Atletico will be looking for a second goal to put Barcelona in a very tight situation so the plan should be for Barcelona to defend as they attack.

No they didn't  really come with a full defensive plan, they tried to open the game with a surprise attacks to so they can secure atleast  one more goal before trying to go full on defence. That didn’t  work but miraculously  a goal attempt was build up and it entered  which gave them edge to start defending again.
