The problem with your reasoning is that Chelsea was already qualified for the CL from the 4th spot.
So your tiny percentages in an increased chance for England to have a winner would only come from Tottenham and Newcastle.

PSG were arguably the best team in that tournament because of the number of good teams they defeated to get to the finals no one could think that Chelsea would defeat them not even when they are the reigning champions League winners and their performance is still very good but Chelsea took the challenge upon themselves and came up with a strong ambition to defeat them and it worked perfectly as they outperformed PSG by defeating them without letting them hit the bake of the net. Next season is going to be a difficult season for all the teams because of clubs have equipped their squad and are ready for the competition so just like PSG did last season a new club may emerg or one of the big teams will continue where they stopped.

And I think it's only natural that PSG would have played with confidence in the final, especially considering they were in peak form and had also eliminated three Premier League giants from the Champions League in a row. But ultimately, in the FIFA Club World Cup, PSG lost to an English Premier League club.

PSG performance was impressive last season, but they lost the FIFA World Cup due to overconfidence, they were confident that they would beat Chelsea in the final because it was not the first time they had played against a Premier League side last season, but Chelsea proved to them that they were not among the rest of the teams they eliminated. The preparation of Tottenham for entering new season is quite good during pre season tour that Tottenham have unbeated records against their opponent and seem they will be very serious for this game because this is good opportunity to gets first trophy this season with new coach and for PSG after lost at the final of FIFA world cup from Chelsea they didn't do the pre season tour so from the preparation i think Tottenham is better but assuming this game is not too important for PSG then might be Tottenham has good chances to be the winner and odds 4.00 looks good although bets for this option is very risky

In this transfer market, Maresca only inserts players that he thinks are important. With the squad Chelsea currently have, I believe that Chelsea can expect a lot in the Premier League and Champions League.
Palmer, Enzo, Caicedo, Joao Pedro will be the key for Maresca to go far.

On paper, I agree that PSG deserve to be considered the favorites. Luis Enrique still has the same team as the one that won the Champions League. Meanwhile, Tottenham have seen a lot of changes, including a change of manager and a squad overhaul.

Chelsea boss Maresca was very accurate in identifying the weaknesses of PSG's defense. I saw that Chelsea's first two goals were from long passes. They were also clinical and made use of the chances they got; to top it all up, they were perfect in defence. It was interesting to see Chelsea play so well.
The problem with Chelsea is consistency. They may play like prime Barcelona one day, and the next week they play like Sunderland. That will be their biggest problem in the league next season. The league requires a lot of consistency and I don't believe Chelsea can be that consistent.

The fact is that even last season, Chelsea started well, but toward the middle of the season, that's when their form started to drop. The reason they weren’t able to maintain their form was due to some injuries that key players were facing. Even when the players came back from their injuries, they weren’t able to return to their strong form. I can’t say much for now, but I have some confidence that Chelsea will do well next season, both in the Champions League and in the Premier League provided they don’t face too many injuries again, because injury is one of the main reasons strong teams easily lose form. It’s not because Chelsea won the Club World Cup that I have this confidence; it's simply because I know Chelsea has a good squad and a good coach.

You can not actually say that Paris Saint Germain was betrayed by too much confidence, so are you indirectly saying they overlooked Chelsea at that finals? Didn't they play to win Chelsea but luck was not on there side?. Paris Saint Germain played everything they knew how to play but it didn't work out well for them that day and Chelsea on the other played very well and utilize all the chances they had. If you check very well you will notice Chelsea played with so much pressure in that first half and they secure 2 goals first and that was what gave them a better edge to win because it was already too much for Paris Saint Germain to equalize.

Coach Enzo Maresca wants to coach a bit like Guardiola because he worked with him before. So I think he is a very patient and tactical coach.

Chelsea is currently full of many new young players. Who have talent. But they have less experience. I think they are completely new in front of the big teams in the league. If their talent could be brought out equally in every match, then they would also be one of the top clubs.

what you should know is that Chelsea is still with in progress so you should not use Chelsea initial success of winning the conference cup and the recent world club cup going into this season consistency is one thing that Chelsea will find hard to get because this season every club is strengthening their squad by buying top players.
