Arsenal are the best playing team in the CL now. Most probably we all think the same about it. But like I said, "now". After league phase things can get to a more interesting point too.

Like another team also stealing the spotlight. Just like PSG did it last season. You know Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal and Inter were the best teams of league phase then. But PSG started to shine after.

However I'm on team Arsenal until the end. I hope they maintain this level after this phase too and win even the PL - CL trophies both! 

Arsenal are in good form at the moment. They have been performing well in the last few matches and their win list has been very big. They are currently in first place. If they can maintain their performance like this then maybe they can win the trophy. However, their defense has performed very badly against Barcelona. If they can strengthen their defense then maybe it will be much better for them.

I think that even though they're currently four points behind Barcelona in La Liga, that doesn't mean they're not performing well. Alonso still hasn't been as perfect as he was coached Leverkusen, but against City in the Champions League, which has been inconsistent in domestic league, madrid still have a chance to win. If Madrid relies too much on Mbappe, this could be a mistake that must be solve as soon as possible and Alonso must remind all players to fill their best positions to score goals and lead to win in every match together not only trying to give Mbappe a chance to score.

It doesn't mean they're not doing well, but they're not doing badly, considering their position in both the league and the Champions League, they should do even better.
They have a roster of players that many other teams dream of, Mbappe is back in form and so they have to push hard to get decent results and be able to overcome Barcelona.

Real Madrid's performance this year still doesn't look very good. They started the league very well with Xabi, but they've dropped a lot of points in the last few matches. The UEFA champions League use to be confusing at some point although I understand why you said premier league team are likely to take  the trophy but we can't conclude on that now, I know your reason for this might not be far from Arsenal defeat against Bayern Munich, I won't argue you that the English premier League teams are not giving chances, their performance is not bad but till that competition is over, we can't say the league side that will win they competition unless if two teams from the English premier League happens to meet in the finals.

Even with the drop in points of Real Madrid, I don't think Barcelona is in fantastic form to have a smooth rise in retaining the League trophy. Atletico Madrid was a shadow of itself. I was surprised that Barcelona could get that cheap win. Diego Simeone's side failed to showcase their counter-attacking runs that put every defence on check. Just two shots on target for the visitors were poor.

The draw with Girona was very disappointing when you consider their position in La Liga. But there are still many games for Xabi Alonso to put his house in order. The January window is also important for Real to fill in some positions that are experiencing some lapses.

I don't think Manchester City is difficult match for Real Madrid at upcoming Champion League match regarding how several bad result last several matches and The Citizen has lower position standings than Real Madrid. Until matchday 5, Manchester City have loss 1 and draw 1 match than Madrid only loss 1 match and has 2 points remaining from Man City.

Although Madrid have bad performance in La Liga I think not bring bad impact for Champion League match and this victory from Manchester City will make close qualify to knock out round. After facing Manchester City, Real Madrid will face Monaco and Benfica in Champion League phase round match and likely will get three points for all three matches left.

And I was feeling like maybe mbappe might even be regretting why he left psg since they even won the Champions  League, and  it's a matter of time before real madrid will regain balance so mbappe  have to be patience, and he needs to train harder to maintain stability. Like I'd really love it if Arsenal can win the English premier League title and the UEFA Champions League title also, I know this might almost look impossible but with a good dedication and hard work they can actually make that happen, because Arsenal seems to be the more formidable team across Europe and they're still playing to that leading the UEFA Champions League standings and the English premier League standings too, with consistent they can actually achieve that goal, but how much can we count on Mikel Arteta and his boys because they have so many bottles in the recent season, but I just hope things went quite well this time.
