I just read that the participant coefficient of La Liga in Europe has declined. One of the direct qualifications for the league stage this year is very poor for the participants from La Liga. In the current La Liga coefficient ranking, they are in fourth place. They are only 0.31 behind Serie A. So if they do not immediately improve their performance in the UCL or Europa League, Spain could potentially be surpassed by Italy, reducing the direct qualifications to Europe.

Standing out for me again was FK Bodö/Glimt yesterday? I mean who would have thought they are going into the final 16, and now they have 1 one into the final 8 after this 3:0 victory yesterday against Benfica. Sure, as soon as they face a big team them will most likely bust out but they reall make the most out of their chances, that's very refreshing to witness.
Isn't it kinda boring to always see the same teams in the later round? Having a small team like this stirring up the competition is great!

We can say that the bookmakers were wrong too. Looking at the odds, Manchester City seemed to be the better option, and this wasn't surprising because, as you said, Real Madrid were missing key players like Mbappé, Bellingham, and Rodrygo. On paper, Manchester City certainly seemed like the favorite, but sometimes a hero emerges in football and changes the whole balance. The hero who stepped up last night was Federico Valverde. The player who carried his team almost guaranteed their qualification before the return leg. Something nobody expected happened, and Real Madrid won the match by a large margin. Erling Haaland, in particular, showed no effect in the match.

Probably the result that surprised me the most was Bayern Munich's victory in Bergamo against Atalanta: I was confident the German team would have won the match because they are a better team but I never thought they could win with a 5-goal difference. I hope Atalanta won't lose the same way in Germany too, I honestly feel bad for them.

It didn't surprise me, but honestly i would have certainly said that they would have scored fewer, the goals that Atalanta have conceded are really many, and in a short time, the qualification is now gone, and there is no way to recover this qualification for the next round, considering that they will have to play at Bayern Munich's home ground

When PSG lost 1-3 to Monaco in the Ligue 1 i knew that they were cooking something bad but i never knew it they were cooking it for Chelsea as a revenge on what Chelsea did to them in past club world cup. PSG really played as the defending Champions though i wasn't expecting such performance from the defending Champions due to how poorly they have been playing recently. At this point i don't think if Chelsea has any other thing to do they should just surrender to PSG when they meet again in their second leg.

Despite their injury crisis, Real Madrid’s performance completely outclassed Manchester City and made them look like an average team yesterday.  Who else noticed that the Gunners played almost like Barcelona when they met Leverkusen? Very poorly and of not for the penalty that was conceded late on, the Gunners would have had a big task awaiting them when they play the return leg next week at the Emirates.They had few corner opportunities because their opponents had gotten the message of how they score through set pieces and to make the game extremely difficult, Leverkusen ensured Arsenal.didnt get anything. Leverkusen haven't been beaten by an English side which is a very good record to keep but the question is whether they will be the ones to kick out the team who won all their league phase games or if this might be the end of the road for them because Bayer where able to break one record and that was to open the scoring which no team has been able to do since this UCL started.

Yeah, the premier league teams are having an off-season, and these results aren’t going to change the fact that the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world. The others are just farmers league. You can be a top club in England and not win the league title in five or ten years. You don’t see that happening in the La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A.

As I was looking at the list that Agbamoni presented above, I observed that one name was missing. Of course, 6 English Premier league teams qualified for this round. So, Tottenham has been omitted and yet they lost woefully also.

I agree with you that English premier league is competition and most likely more competitive than other leagues, but then they should continue to prove it. There was when it used to be only England teams in the final and semi final of the champions league. That is exactly what I thought wil happen here. If you are the best, the best audience to prove it is in the champions league

I was a little surprised by the result of this match, I thought that this match might be won by Real Madrid but I never thought that it would be won in such a one-sided way and by such a margin. This match was a big nightmare for Manchester City to win at Real Madrid's home ground.

I have noticed in several matches that whenever Mbappe is not on the field, Real Madrid's performance becomes much better and every Real Madrid player seems to have a unique enthusiasm. Although Mbappe is performing very well, sometimes he scores goals himself and makes Real Madrid win.

This is precisely why Real Madrid is a winner team. Even when they play poorly, even when they have injured players, they can completely change the course of the game in big matches like this. They've gained a huge advantage before the return leg. Arsenal’s performance last night was far from impressive and tbh they were lucky to get a point. I’ve got to give credit to Arteta tactical brilliance in bringing in Madueke. Star boy just had a very poor game today, I can’t say I blame him. He’s battling injuries yet expected to perform at his best. I hope to see Saka fit next season. This was a surprising result as the two players that Real Madrid depended on to maintain their winning streak were missing. It is not that Manchester City played badly either as they had almost 60% of the ball in their favour but failed to score. It is impressive that Valverde played brilliantly in the match without Mbappe and Bellingham and scored three goals. Real Madrid left the field with a three-goal victory thanks to his extraordinary performance. It may seem unbelievable to some that Real Madrid will win 3-0 in this crucial first leg match for the last 16 of the Champions League and I was surprised when I watched the match.
