Does anyone know if any other club still participating in the Champions League did what PSG have done and asked their local football association to postpone their league games to let them prioritise the Champions League? I think PSG have done it twice already and they might do it again if they advance further. Some say it's an unfair advantage, and there's some truth to that, but I don't necessarily see anything wrong with the French FA trying to do what they can to increase the chance of a French club winning this most prestigious club tournament.
Among the cases I know of, these only happen in smaller leagues, like what happened this year with Bodo Glimt when the league postponed one of their games due to their Champions League match against Sporting. Perhaps Ligue 1 is the first major league to do this, and I totally agree that there's nothing wrong with it, federations have to support their teams in the biggest competition in the world.

Agree with the guy who said seeing Arsenal in some games is like a torture they play a super boring football sometimes and that makes me remind a stage of the Guardiola teams in which nothing happens and was all non sense pass between the players, they win everything so i cant say so much about it, but for the health of the football and the fun of the fans, damn it was horrible and sometimes this Arsenal falls in that.
To watch Arsenal's park the bus and pass sideways mode of play is to torture yourself at times, lol Well said, it is a classic late Guardiola syndrome, full control, no risk, just passing and passing,,, but Mare's nest in the name of entertainment. Yeah they won the match right away but half of the fan fell asleep watching the game. It is clear that Arteta is a carbon copy of that blueprint. But taking a little risk and playing vertical passing would have made the game a lot more fun. Do you think Arsenal will ever change this style under Arteta? or is this their true form now?

Yes I also think the same thing that the French football federation is supporting their team in every way they can to defending their Uefa champions league defense. Maybe if Lens was the one in the Paris saint German situation the federation will still be supporting them. Although There is no English premier League this weekend too as well.

I think it’s a farce and totally ridicules the idea of fair, honest competition. Lens are in a title race with PSG, they didn’t want the game postponed and the French football federation have just done it any way. It stinks of corruption and the other French teams must just think, what is the point of trying to compete with PSG when the entire idea of non bias, fair competition is thrown in the bin when PSG want a rest. It would never happen in the PL. This is why Ligue 1 is a joke, a true farmers league, bent over by Qatari corruption money being sports washed through PSG.

Arsenal's play is too rational, so watching them sometimes feels like torture. And I agree that in an away game they will not force the issue and, above all, play reliably. For Sporting, on the contrary, this game is "now or never" since it is difficult to hope for a good result in London, so perhaps it is thanks to Sporting's efforts that BTTS Yes will happen. For cash betting, this option seems fine. Otherwise, given the "preliminary" nature of the game, I wouldn't risk it.
Well rationality its clear that arsenal are the potential winners of that match, the consideration for the upcoming match to me is unnecessary, Because clearly and logically we can see that arsenal has a higher potential for a win, Sporting wouldn't be my problem if I'm an Arsenal fan, my problem will be of the semifinals. Arsenal chances of advancing to the next round are indeed higher, but this will be played over two legs. The first leg is away, and considering how they played against Leverkusen in Germany, there's obviously a risk in betting on them outright, but betting on them for the second leg is certainly profitable, after all, they're playing in England. I agree with @KTChampions, Btts (yes) is the better choice. Sporting won't play it safe at home.

Sporting's chances of qualifying are slim, but it's still a smart move to back them. I can see a slight chance of them qualifying, they have the potential to beat Arsenal to qualify for the semi-finals, but the odds are slim. If someone wins with these slim odds, their winnings will be much bigger. When I place my bet, I can put $10 on Sporting and to protect that $10, I can place another $20 bet on Arsenal. No matter who qualifies at the end of the second leg, my chances of losing are slim. If Arsenal wins, I may get nothing, but if Sporting wins, my winnings will be much bigger.

Therefore, they will play much better to gain an advantageous score in Portugal, and their chances of scoring are high. Arsenal will also need to be cautious in Portugal. If we consider the Leverkusen match as risky, the Sporting Lisbon match will also be noteworthy. Arsenal have a high chance of advancing, but they need to be careful as a team in the match in Portugal.

Sporting is not going to be a challenge to Arsenal, sporting chance of winning against Arsenal is small. Given that Arsenal is stronger than them, and already at the top and this is another very important match for Arsenal they will do everything possible to see that they win the match. They won’t want to drop any point in this stage of the match, Arsenal will win the match against Sporting, football is full of surprises but this won’t be a surprise due to the stage and how sporting performance is being good

I think so too, with Arsenal’s long for a trophy and seeing what Sporting was able to archive with Bodo, coming back from a 3 goals aggregate to win by 5:3 goals on aggregate and confirm their spot, Arsenal is certainly not going to underestimate them and would be sure to get not is it the first leg advantage but apparently seal the deal. It might as well be the end of the road for Sporting CP and Arsenal gets to advance.

Is it possible to acknowledge that they have already scored more than a hundred goals in all the competitions this season? Bayern and Barcelona are the two that have scored higher in the top leagues in Europe this year. And here we are terming it torture. That's kind of hilarious to me. This is the way they are now. It is not a stage. Arteta made such a decision deliberately at some point in 2023/24, which he believes is winning ugly as opposed to losing beautiful. Nothing has since caused him to think otherwise. Eze was sparkling at Palace right. Among the most exciting league players. Move to Arsenal and he is all tidied up. More responsible. Not so dangerous in that uncertain manner. The system somehow swallows individual creativity and squashes it.

It might as well be the end of the road for Sporting CP and Arsenal gets to advance. I want to let you understand that Arsenal is not putting any special efforts because they are hungry for trophies. If they were hungry for trophies, they would have won one few weeks ago against Manchester City. There is no doubt that Arsenal is the favourite to win the match against Sporting, but also don't make the mistake to underrate Sporting. I started regarding Sporting as they made a wonderful come back against Bodo from 3 goals difference. If Sporting become as resilient as they were against Bodo, they might be a big threat to Arsenal. Let's see how it goes, since Arteta retrieved all his players from international duties. They are expected to win against Sporting.

That comeback you mentioned shows they that got real character and belief, and teams like that can be very dangerous, especially when they have nothing to lose and Arsenal will definitely be taking this seriously. With how long they have been pushing for a major trophy, they won’t want to slip up at this stage. I expect them to come into the first leg focused, trying to get a solid advantage and avoid any unnecessary pressure in the second leg. Still, it won’t be as straightforward as it looks on paper. If Sporting can find momentum early, they could make things uncomfortable. But overall, Arsenal should have enough quality and control to edge through and if they stay disciplined and don’t underestimate their opponent.

Everyone know that Sporting can never compare themselves with Arsenal with their currently performances, even those that said they should stop underrating Sporting CP performances or is because they where able to draw most previous matches and win some that is some people are hope for them against Arsenal; they should better stop that thinking. Arteta have qualify to semi final already in my view because sporting will be eliminated. But let watch and see. Barcelona and Athletico Madrid match will be very tough they will play the league match this weekend and they will still play each other in the Champions League we don't know who will get the victory.
I’m also expecting the match between Barcelona and Athletico Madrid to a tough one. Because both teams are in their best form, for the Arsenal Arteta have already build up their confidence and they will be able to win the match against sporting PC in order for them to qualify to the next round.

Sporting is not going to be a challenge to Arsenal, sporting chance of winning against Arsenal is small. Given that Arsenal is stronger than them, and already at the top and this is another very important match for Arsenal they will do everything possible to see that they win the match.
As a team playing the current 36-team format doesn't get to last 8 just to be easily underrated and written off like you guys want to do now. Arsenal for a fact has been a better side than Sporting this season and I honestly think they'll progress to the semi finals ahead of Sporting but that's not enough reason to not give Sporting a chance of getting a surprising result that'll see them dumb Arsenal out of the competition. Mikel Arteta I know should understand how this game works, I don't expect him to write his opponent off.

Both away and home match Arsenal need to have more high advantage, Let’s assume Sporting will dominate during the home match it’s left for Arsenal to defend if possible equalize or the goal margin should not be much otherwise if Arsenal fail to keep tight corners they might lose during the second leg not minding home benefit. I observed something mostly the second leg is just a back up game to fully qualify although sometimes the second leg might determine the qualified team only when both club played poor during the first leg, not minding how Arsenal is having a higher chance of winning if they fail to play sporting away they might miss everything.

Arsenal is one team that is very formidable at this period, Sporting might want to show some level of resistance given the confidence they built from their previous Champions League games but when it comes to Arsenal, Arsenal has a divide and conquer method that they've been using, their technique helps them cut across the edges of midfield and defensive formations of some clubs, so I really don't see Sporting giving Arsenal too much of a tough time. With the way I'm visualizing it in my head, I'm even seeing it that the first leg might have Arsenal score more goals.

How relief and happy I am that the international break is over. Have waited for this day. Back to the topic. The winning mindset of Arsenal is seen in the road to the final. Maybe Arsenal made it to the final, passed Barcelona, they wont win the final. The Carabao cup final made it clear to me, what mission Arsenal is on. A mission with no end result. It is clear Arsenal don't have the winning experience to handle the tension in final moment. Moment that will make history this Arsenal squad lacks it. It takes more than talent to turn up in final moment.

The international break is over and this week entering the domestic league match, around five days later or this middle week we are watching the UEFA Champion League quarter final round. I am so excited after waiting almost two weeks since the knock out round finish and next few days later we are watching the quarter final round, many super big match watch exactly PSG vs Liverpool and Real Madrid vs PSG. Not underestimate the match Arsenal and Barcelona but both team will face not really strong team such as Arsenal will face Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona against Atletico Madrid. The schedule of first leg match UEFA Champion League quarter final round. - Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich
- Sporting Lisbon vs Arsenal
- Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid
- PSG vs Liverpool

These games are gonna be a thriller to watch especially Madrid vs Bayern, I might have to go with Madrid in this game because of their ability to bounce back pressure and deliver in such big stages. How they won from Man city when they were doubt in that is proof they can't be underestimated. Real Madrid is likely to advance because of their because of their incredible record of winning high-pressure games when odds are against them. Arsenal should handle Sporting CP pretty easily and go through the next stage. Barcelona looks set to handle Atletico and In Psg vs Liverpool I might have to go with PSG because of how good their recent performance was. In the end it's just my take and it's football no one even knows if Arsenal would be able to beat Sporting. So it's just my opinion and nothing confirmed.

Yes that is a very good smart move, like that's the only way the French FA could support them and they did so i absolutely see nothing wrong with this, but do you think either England or Spain can do this? If yes then they will have to do it for Arsenal because i known after this round in the competition they will be the only English team left for i am certain Paris Saint Germain is knocking Liverpool out of the game, so i think the English FA have to do all they could to at least assist Arsenal on winning the UEFA Champions league title this season.
