Sporting is not going to be a challenge to Arsenal, sporting chance of winning against Arsenal is small. Given that Arsenal is stronger than them, and already at the top and this is another very important match for Arsenal they will do everything possible to see that they win the match.

I don’t see Arsenal beating Sporting if they did not play well and with the injury they have currently is going to affect them, nine to ten Arsenal players are injured before and during the international break, some need to be withdrawn from the squad to come back to the club for a proper treatment, but some people said that Arteta withdrew his players from the international break just to focus on the premier league trophy, we will all see in the weekend when Arsenal will play against Southampton in the FA Cup.

I am so excited after waiting almost two weeks since the knock out round finish and next few days later we are watching the quarter final round, many super big match watch exactly PSG vs Liverpool and Real Madrid vs PSG.

Not underestimate the match Arsenal and Barcelona but both team will face not really strong team such as Arsenal will face Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona against Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal have had a relatively easy path in the Champions League this season ... Whilst the big teams have had to face each other in the quarter finals, Arsenal have been very fortunate that their opponents is Sporting Lisbon . That’s not to say I’m underestimating Lisbon, but Sporting Lisbon got through because they only had to face Bodoe/Glimt, and I think Arsenal play at a completely different level to Bodoe/Glimt, which means Sporting Lisbon won’t easily dictate the pace of the game, and they may even face significant pressure throughout the match.

Indeed, Arsenal have just lost to Man City in the EFL Cup Final, but I’m fairly confident that won’t affect their morale, and I think that they’re totally ready for the Champions League match. Before that, Arsenal still have a match against Southampton in the FA Cup, but I don’t think Arsenal will struggle to win that match, even if they have to play with their bench players.

@Solodoski, to be honest, I don’t really get how you can say Arsenal already show a champion mentality. Over the past few seasons, they’ve looked more like a team that struggles under pressure, bottling key moments and falling short in multiple competitions. That’s despite having a squad full of quality players who, on paper, should be capable of lifting trophies.
That’s why I lean more toward @Frankolala’s view. In my opinion, Arsenal’s winning mentality will only start to show when they fully commit to focusing on one competition and actually secure a title. If they can get it done domestic league first, it would boost the players’ confidence and mentality, and then they’d be in a much stronger position to compete seriously in the UCL.

Both away and home match Arsenal need to have more high advantage, Let?s assume Sporting will dominate during the home match it?s left for Arsenal to defend if possible equalize or the goal margin should not be much otherwise if Arsenal fail to keep tight corners they might lose during the second leg not minding home benefit. I observed something mostly the second leg is just a back up game to fully qualify although sometimes the second leg might determine the qualified team only when both club played poor during the first leg, not minding how Arsenal is having a higher chance of winning if they fail to play sporting away they might miss everything.

arsenal at home is a real battleship and i don't think there is any team currently that is capable of managing what they are trying to do, they are trying to be the best in every field, and this says a lot about the level of the team, they are the best but they still have to prove it until the end.

Atletico Madrid have their favorite tactic as counter attacking that can be used well against Barcelona and Simeone is good at constrains attacking teams like Barcelona. He does not lack of tactical ideas for doing that but it will depends on Atletico Madrid player performances as well as how Barcelona players will play in two quarter final matches.

Barcelona are very strong and they actually want to do better and go farther than the last season so they will not easily lose in quarter finals, but it's what they want while Atletico Madrid actually want the same. They will challenge Barcelona a lot in quarter finals in the La Liga derby in Champions League, get a spot to semi finals and aim at another UEFA Champions League final with Simeone.

IMO, if Barcelona were to face Arsenal with both teams having full squads available, I’d put my money on Barcelona. But if Arsenal had to face Atletico Madrid, I wouldn’t hesitate to back Arsenal for the win. It might sound a bit silly or overconfident to say it like this, but I see Barcelona as the more confident side with a stronger mentality overall. It actually reminds me of the 2006 UCL final between Barcelona and Arsenal.

Deciding on who will win here is very difficult, betting on these games is very hard. Not that there isn't an obvious winner in my mind, but it is not guaranteed at all. Like at Arsela vs Lisbon we all know Arsneal will get the win, that one is easy, but at PSG game for example, PSG should be winning, that seems like the expected result, but are we sure it will even happen? Or the Barcelona game, they are missing Rapinha, so I am not sure anymore and anything could happen.

This is why all of this feels like anything could happen and I am not entirely sure. Specially when it comes to Munich vs Madrid, that is going to be very tough and we are not going to eb certain about it and we are not seeing how this could be changing on the long run at all.

Well said, it is a classic late Guardiola syndrome, full control, no risk, just passing and passing,,, but Mare's nest in the name of entertainment. Yeah they won the match right away but half of the fan fell asleep watching the game.

It is clear that Arteta is a carbon copy of that blueprint. But taking a little risk and playing vertical passing would have made the game a lot more fun.

If Arsenal beats Sporting in the quarter final, i think between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, Atletico Madrid would be a better opponent for Arsenal in the semi final not just because Arsenal already beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 this season, but i believe Atletico Madrid would be a better opponent for Arsenal because Arsenal is better than Atletico Madrid and the gap between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid is too big this season, so if Arsenal and Atletico Madrid meet in the semi final, Arsenal will dominate Atletico Madrid in ball possession, create more chances than Atletico Madrid, and win Atletico Madrid.
