I watched the match between Inter and Juventus in Sydney on TV. It was just a friendly, mind you, but Juventus were pretty embarrassing. Lots of passing, lots of attempted crosses, but zero shots on target, one goal by accident, but honestly, nothing to write home about. Things changed a bit when Alajnbegović and Kolo Muani came on, but apart from that, absolutely nothing. Inter didn’t do much, but from the little they did, they could easily have scored four goals. I don’t see things looking good this year for the Turin team.
I didn't see the match to be honest, but they're just friendly matches that are useful for getting some minutes under our belts before the championship starts. Obviously they give a lot of indications but they don't always reflect the reality of the facts.
However, I remain firm in my opinion: these summer tours do nothing but weigh down the players.
It would be more interesting to have a competition like the English FA Cup. However, no team automatically qualifies and qualifying matches are played instead of friendlies. I think it would increase the appeal of Serie A, and all teams can aspire to win a trophy! Even third-tier teams.
Am I fantasizing too much?
