The spending limits for teams during the winter transfer window have been announced. Looking at these limits, it's hard to tell if there really is a limit at all. Galatasaray can spend 12.8 billion TL. Fenerbahçe can spend 6.2 billion TL, Trabzonspor 7.8 billion TL and Beşiktaş 5.8 billion TL. These are crazy figures. Even if the teams wanted to, they couldn't spend that much money. It's hard to understand why the federation would set such limits when the clubs are already in too much debt. This is not sustainable. Even the team that wins the league can't receive prize money within these budgets.

No team in our country has revenues this high, yet the spending limits are extremely high.
Because this system is not sustainable, our clubs go deeper into debt every year and then ask the government to forgive their tax debts.
In my opinion, these limits are unreasonable, they should either be much lower or clubs should be provided with more ways to generate revenue.

The mid-season transfer window has officially opened. Let's see what crazy transfers we'll see this winter, which ones will truly contribute to their new teams, which ones will be complete flops and which ones will play a part in winning the championship. Transfer season will remain open until February 6.

League matches will begin on January 17. Excluding cup matches, teams have nearly three weeks to rest and prepare for the second half of the league.

The Super Lig will resume on January 17th. I expect Galatasaray to secure a comfortable victory. Fenerbahçe will also have no trouble against Alanyaspor. Beşiktaş will comfortably win against Kayserispor, who are currently in a slump, especially since they are playing at home. Trabzonspor will be playing away against Kocaelispor and will be fighting to get three points. Their situation might be a little more difficult, but I think the other three teams will win.

Sami Uğurlu has taken over as head coach of Antalyaspor. He previously managed Kasımpaşa, Bandırmaspor and Alanyaspor. He has some experience but no major successes. He is considered a young coach, only 47 years old. I don't think he will be worse than Emre Belözoğlu and Erol Bulut. He will keep the team in mid-table. If he can win the easier matches and accumulate some points, they won't pay much attention to how he performs in the bigger matches. The further the team stays away from the relegation zone, the better.

This break in the Super League is helpful for especially teams having players in the AFCON now. Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe also have players there while they are challenging for the league title here.

Galatasaray is lucky to have Lemina back in a short time as Gabon have been eliminated. But Osimhen and Jakobs are still moving on in the knockout stage. Nene and En-Nesyri from Fenerbahçe also are still competing there.

Fenerbahçe's hopes for Sörloth have been dashed once again. Atletico refused to let the player leave the team during this transfer window. Simeone sees him as an important player and wants to keep him on the team. Sörloth isn't getting as much playing time at Atletico as he did at Villarreal. Still, with his coach's confidence in him, he will continue to play for this big club. Fenerbahçe has been trying to sign Sörloth in every transfer window but has been unable to do so.

It's difficult to secure his signature, as he a key figure at Atletico Madrid, even though he rarely in the starting eleven. Sorloth always knows how to break the deadlock for Atletico. I heard that Fenerbahçe is only willing to offer €35 million, but if Fenerbahçe offers a higher price the Spanish club might be tempted, and if I remember correctly, Sorloth also wants to return to the Turkish league, perhaps another option is to wait out his contract.

From what I remember from previous seasons, Sorloth said he didn't want to return to Turkey. This is because Turkish teams want to sign him every transfer window. He played for Trabzonspor for a year and became top scorer, leaving his mark in Turkey. We know how high-quality he is, and if Fenerbahçe signs him, they would fill the gap they feel in the forward position. It's also being reported that Fenerbahçe is interested in Nkunku. I think signing a striker during the mid-season transfer window is a priority for them.

Every single window, it's the same story with Sorloth. I’m so done with this. And Fenerbahce fans have a weird obsession with him. They act like he is the only striker in the world. Why you want to give so much money to a 30 year old guy? Giving him huge salary and transfer fee is a mistake. You can find 3 young and talented players with that money.

Signing a player that's 30 years old with a big amount of money is a risk because the player will be prone to injury and he can't give his maximum performance, but I won't blame Fenerbahçe why they want to sign Sorloth from Atletico Madrid. I could remember Robin Van Persie helped Manchester United lift their 20th title when he was close to 30 years old, so if Fenerbahçe knows that Sorloth can help them achieve greatness, I am backing Fenerbahçe to sign Sorloth.

It looks like they have changed direction and started being interested in Noa Lang instead. Most probably because of Lookman's being much more expensive than him.

Lang is also a good player despite his poor season at Napoli. He looked great at PSV. Maybe he can also meet the expectations for Galatasaray.

I think it is too early to sell the player. Noa Lang is still adapting in Napoli. I think he needs more time to show his worth. Napoli signed him for €28 million from PSV. Will Galastataray be willing to pay such an amount for the Netherlands international? He earns about €2.8 million per season; the Turkish side can afford it. He is a good player who could help the club in its quest to win trophies this season.

Fenerbahçe has signed Musaba. Musaba and Samsunspor mutually agreed to terminate his contract. He signed a contract with Fenerbahçe until 2030. He had scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists for Samsunspor. I'm curious to see how he will perform at Fenerbahçe... I also don't know if Fenerbahçe needed a player like him. There are too many players in his position.

Fenerbahçe needs a player who can play as a direct striker. Sörloth's name is mentioned frequently, Nkunku's name is also mentioned. I hope it's Sörloth. Nkunku doesn't have any different qualities than En Nesiry.

God knows how much these teams will spend again. Galatasaray is a bit lucky, because even 9 points seems to be like it could be enough to be in top 24, depends on goal difference of course, but the possibility is there and they could maybe make it happen, and even just one points off the next two games will see them ahead.

So for the love of UCL and going further, they may make some great transfers and spend a lot, and rest of the league will probably try to follow to make it possible. These teams are spending way too much for the return they are getting if you ask me, teams with much smaller budgets end up getting better UEFA results than Turkish teams, so they need to ask themselves if it's even worth it or not.

From what I can see, there's a huge shortage of defenders in world football right now. Real Madrid is having a defender problem, and so is Galatasaray. Of course, there will be differences in quality between players, but I see a decline in both the quality and number of defenders compared to the past. Perhaps the fact that players now prefer to play on the wings or as forwards is creating this problem. Finding a defender is really difficult these days. I agree that Galatasaray definitely needs a good backup defender. When players are injured or suspended, Galatasaray feels this problem seriously.

I think it would make sense for them to sign a winger now. I must say especially a left winger. Because Barış Alper isn't playing like he was at the beginning of the season.

He is still okay for the Turkish league actually but I don't think the same for the Champions League. If I were in their place I would also look for a better alternative to him.

Fenerbahçe is rumoured to be interested in Lookman at the same time. I hope we manage to snatch him.

Napoli does have this impatience, they do not want to wait for long for you to show so much of your incompetence and to an extent it feels they even make money from sales of players more and so they would rather do that and make money once they notice a player is not fitting in well, than to keep him and try to wait for him to be better.

Robin Van Persie later transferred to Fenerbahçe and was a disappointment. He constantly suffered from injuries and earned money while sitting on the sidelines. Sörloth has shown impressive performances in Türkiye in the past. That's why Turkish teams are very interested in him. However, I think the transfer fee mentioned for him is too high. If Turkish teams wait a few more seasons, they can sign Sörloth as a free player. He is a typical pivot striker. I think he can still do well in the Turkish league even at 32-33 years old...

Apart from injury the playe is already past their prime and their active time will be short, they will not be able  to give the team that best enough  the team would want from them, the most some of them would do is a few seasons and may aswell just get retirement, it is in some cases of some exceptionality that it turns out some really profitable engagement having such players come in board  the team.

Göztepe has signed a new Brazilian player. A 4.5+1 year contract has been signed with Guilherme Luiz. The 20-year-old midfielder plays for Ceara CE. This will be his first European adventure in his career.

Eyüpspor has parted ways with head coach Orhan Ak. He had replaced Selçuk Şahin. In my opinion, no matter who comes to this team, they won't be able to keep it in the league. Relegation is a very high possibility.

Galatasaray, has terminated the contract with Berkan Kutlu. He wasn't really suited for that team anyway, his level was much lower. Maybe another Super League team will sign him from lower standings.

For the age of 30, he is still quite a mainstay and the fact that Sorloth quality is still not exhausted at his current age with Atletico Madrid. And not to compare leagues, but we certainly realize that the quality of La Liga matches and here is very different, which is why I believe if Fenerbahce can bring him in, Sorloth can have a positive impact on them.

Guys, I just saw that there's a Turkish Super cup semi final clash between Galatasaray and Trabzonspor. I don't know much about Trabzonspor's recent performances but I do know of Galatasaray. What are you guys thoughts about this and who do you guys think will come up on top?

Personally, I'd go with Galatasaray to win as they're the best team rn in the Turkish and they have more experience as they play the UCL and sometimes UEL more often than not compared to Trabzonspor. So they can employ all of those experiences to win ties like this.
