After the round of 16 so far Nigeria has been among the few team to show this so much domination over their opponent. Morocco against Tanzania was hard for the tournament host and they managed to score only one, Cameroon did not play better than South Africa but they won, today Egypt went to extra time with Benin.

Nigeria getting an easy win against Mozambique doesn't mean they are stronger than other big teams that found it difficult before they could win their opponents in the round of 16. Let us be plane here, Nigeria played against the weakest and the most mediocre of them all that qualified for the round of 16. If Nigeria can replicate same fighting spirit against their next opponents in the quarter finals then i will have to applaud their bravery but for this win against Mozambique, there's nothing really special about the win.

Would you have written in this energy with the match happening that the Nigeria team lost the match to this most weakest team in the round of 16.

I criticize the super eagles where they do poorly and correspondingly when they perform the brightest they deserve to be applauded regardless of the rival they were against.

What will be really special about who Nigeria wins in the quarter finals when what they did in the round of 16 is nothing of respect to you. A lot of you viewers out there do think football is a simple sport with a round ball to kick around.

Today we anticipate the last two games of the Round of 16, Algeria vs  Democratic Republic of Congo and Ivory Coast vs Burkina Faso games.

DR Congo has also been in a somewhat good performance in the group stage they didn’t lose any of their three group games, they won twice against Botswana and Benin and they draw against Senegal. Algeria on the other hand are in top form as they have won all of their group games in the group stage of this AFCON. It’s might be somehow hard to predict the winner of this game but I think Algeria will win it..just my opinion.

Ivory has not been in top form but their performances are really good, they won two of their group games and draw one against Cameroon. Likewise Burkina Faso’s performance, they won two of their group games but they lost one against Algeria. For this game I’d choose Ivory Coast to win.

Well said, the reason we all love the greatest of footballers are  there attitude and character on the pitch, as a good sportsman you are meant to be able to carry yourself on the pitch. I was hyping on the fact that I wanted Osimhen to be the captain, but last match tantrum made me rethink that thought. Guess Ndidi is the right choice.

I will not argue with you when you say Mozambique is a small team that should not stress Nigeria to win but don't forget that in football most times the team you look down on thinking is just a small team turns out to surprise you by even tending to win if you don't take your ground. In the game of football you have to play all team the same way with the same energy to avoid stories. And the domination have continued to show tonight against Mozambique, it's 3 goals to the good for the Super Eagles and there is no stopping them now, they actually aren't sitting on these 3 goals and look rather hungry to score more goals.

The ticket for the quarterfinal is definitely secured, and having 2 of Nigerian players amidst the top scorers of the competition is another thing to be cheerful about, it's surreal that this team didn't actually qualify for the world cup, I'm still hurt.

Super Eagles gave impressive performance, and they also encouraged their supporters with thumbing win against poor Mozambique which was completely out of way in this game, no player able to create problems for Super Eagles mostly bets were won. In other game, Egypt performance was completely unusual they scored 2 goals in extra time for having win against Benin even mostly were expecting them to have big won against Benin, but they failed and have troubling end of their game.

They drew the game with 1-1 and only won the game in the extra time.  And extra time is not counted in the betting time so I lost the game. I am not a praise singer but Nigeria tried yesterday. Their defense was good and the goalkeeper was good. The first goal Victor Osimhen scored was cancelled because it was an offside. The quarter final matches will make sense.

This one of the biggest issues the supers Eagles has  had to face for a long time now, the issue of discipline, especially amongst key players who appear to be really vital and important to the team, they sometimes build so much importance that they want to be sure that in their absence, the team may not thrive as much and so they go ahead to put up some really silly attitude that gets to affect the team, we understand osimhen is good at his craft but it is high time he is called to order or sanctioned if need be, he shouldn't feel too important because we know how useful he has been to the team, he wouldn't do any of such at turkey, so why doing it back home, it is almost an unpatriotic act but since he is not been called out, he may want to feel bigger than the team.

Nigeria win a match but people did not celebrate the match and talk about it well, instead people are busy talking about victor Osimhen action towards his teammates, Osimhen action is very bad, no any professional footballer will do that kind of thing, because your teammates did not pass a ball to you for you to score three goals does not mean you will shout at him as if he is your younger brother or someone that you bring to the team to come and help you with goals.

Out of all Osimhen goals in the tournament, lookman has been the one given him assist to score goal, Osimhen attitude is the reason Napoli sell him and I believe it is the reason why big teams did not want to sign him, as a player, you can’t get angry and tell the coach to remove you, what if the team need a win in the game? His behavior was really uncalled for. The behavior displayed was certainly not passion. He was obviously pissed off at Lookman and didn't want to calm down. There's a clip making the rounds of Osimhen, going over to Lookman and wagging his fingers at him not minding and shrugging off when the captain, Ndidi tried to talk to him. That's disrespectful to the captain and to the team in general and i think It was better he asked to be substituted later on.
He's no doubt an amazing player and quite valuable to the team but he should try harder to keep his ego in check. That wasn't professional in any way.

That is the reality this time, I think Egypt is not in their rightful performance this time because I do not know the reason for the draw but it has happened and we can not reverse time, I do not want to talk about the bet part because my bet slip they messed with is much, but that is gambling and we have to move on but sincerely I will not put those guys in my slip again, they are not good, they match that they were able to win was on struggle so I rather avoid them totally, Nigeria has been doing well in this AFCON, sincerely I did not expect such performance from them but I wont say further so that it won't enter their head.

It is obvious now that the Super Eagles is a force to reckon with. At the earlier stages of the tournament, I was having doubt that their inability to qualify for the world cup was going to dampen their spirit in this AFCON but the passion and energy they have displayed shows they have let the past be in the past and just want to enjoy this tournament. They have not failed to show their commitment in the field of play and at the pace they are going, I'm strongly pitching my tent behind them for the trophy, although the host Morocco, Algeria and Egypt are my biggest fears.

Today will show us the strength of Ivory Coast the defending champions and Algeria, one of the dreaded contender. Both teams I expect to win their respective opponents today to secure their place in the next round.

Congratulation to super Eagle of Nigeria. They really showcased what makes people  believe that they will win the game with many goals which they did to beat Mozambique 4:0  to remain unbeatable in this tournament. We know that the remaining games will not be easy for super Eagle but super Eagle will not lose any game till they will lift this trophy, because they have good players that will make them to play what will lead them to secure victory through out.

That altercation involving Osimhen was completely unnecessary. I understand he wants to add to his goal tally and maybe push for the tournament's top scorer, but that doesn't excuse what happened. A few players were taking shots for fun when there was a proven striker up front, yet professionalism has to come first.
What happened today needs to end here. For Nigeria, this tournament is more than just football. It's a chance to rebuild their image. The team needs to rediscover unity and move forward together.

He is hurting his career with this crap he's pulling up, big teams are watching him, the major criteria for a player is discipline and attitude not just playing skill. Osihmen isn't a team player, he's feeling too important for the way he's treated in the national team, why would he isolate his team mates and stay all by himself in the vehicle, such attitudes drops the team's tempo, everyone now blames him for being the cause of why Nigeria didn't qualify for world cup, trust Nigerians they'll drag him very well, he should have known the kind of country he's representing and how far everyone has lost it for the super eagles, nothing will ever be new for fans, he should misbehave all he wants, the team would still stand, lookman is there and other valuable players. Egypt had only five shots on goal throughout the 90 minutesh, but even so, Salah could have scored in the 89th minute. Instead of shooting from a dangerous position, he simply rolled the ball to the goalkeeper. He did score later, but Benin had no chance in extra time and Egypt advanced.

Nigeria is pleasantly surprising with its attacking play, especially Ademola Lookman, who made two assists and scored one goal yesterday. While everyone expects goals from Victor Osimhen, such productive play from Ademola Lookman after a less than productive period at Atalanta is a welcome surprise and I think Nigeria should beat both Algeria or Congo in the quarterfinals.
So far, Nigeria looks like the main favorite of the tournament.

This is the problem that I habe with these set of players in the Super Eagles. They have pride and ego which has been the reason for their downfall. Look at Osimhen because he played with a weak team and was scoring easy goals, he's raising up his shoulders as if only him can play the match and score without anyone assist.

In other games apart from this competition, why didn't he show his ego when their opponents use to trash them. Osimhen should hide his face and go back to Turkey if he wants. Who cares.

The only tough match the Super Eagles have played in this tournament was against Tunisia and I even considered them favourites. Even in their round of 16 match yesterday against Mozambique, before the game I predicted Super Eagles to win because I knew Mozambique isn't a strong opponent. But whatever be it a small or strong team Nigeria played with, in my opinion we should learn how to appreciate their effort. I never expected Egypt to lose to Benin, and I'm sure almost all of us here had that belief. So I applaud Nigeria big time because it would've been a different story if they lost to Mozambique.

so far from my experienceed with Nigeria in this tournament yesterday match was their best game that I have watched, because only Nigeria have scored four goals in a single game in this tournament. There's a lot of improvement in their game, which is enough to trust them against any big team.
