After a great start to the tournament, Nigeria lost 4-2 on penalties to hosts Morocco in the semi-finals, but when I saw that Senegal would have experienced stars like Sadio Mane in attack, I was looking forward to the final match at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium with double the enthusiasm. However, I think Morocco will play with a chance to win the tournament for the first time in a long time and they have a very good chance of winning.

With the start of campaign in this event, Super Eagles surely deserves to be in final but now after lost on penalties no one can talk about this, Senegal and Morocco deserved to be in final which is going to be played on 18th January. It's going to be a tensed game because Senegal has done very impressive job in semifinal and have good win against Egypt.

Morocco is having good home advantage with their game against Nigeria surely have good fighting win for them on penalties, Nigeria surely needs to work on penalties and their technique in big games because they play with very nerves in big games which always hurt them, and they faced defeats despite having quality players into their squad.

The knockout yesterday should be a great lesson to the entire Super Eagles team and it should help the coach to train them more on taking penalties despite it not being the game of any man. If you have been following the history of Morocco the host nation you will realize that they are not also a good penalty taking nation as they have been knocked out several times by other team but they were lucky yesterday to have played against a team that couldn't take advantage of their first miss to win the game.  The penalty kick of Samuel Chukwueze was too poor from when he took the ball there was zero courage in him likewise Bruno but the coach will continue to do his job and I believe they will improve if he train them on that.

Thanks so much for your support, super eagle really try but unfortunately that is how games used to be. I could not be able to watch the game completely because I will not be happy if it end the way it ended, I just wake up in the middle of night to check the scores, from there my tension calm down because if I could watch it to see that we are eliminated, I will not be able to sleep throughout yesterday, but since I choose to love myself more than anything that was why I was able to prevent myself from that action. I could not be able to blame our superheroes because they did more than I expect it, and I'm still proud of them and I'm happy to welcome them back home for representing us well.

Thanks to every none Nigerians who supported the super eagles to win but unfortunately they didn't, they gave their best but it wasn't good enough to take them to the final. I watched the game until the penalty shootouts and when the penalties were dragging too far I couldn't watch anymore because I didn't want the anticipation for the super eagles to win to affect me negatively. I stopped watching and later checked the scores to see that the Moroccan, team later won the match. Any games that reached penalty stage means that the teams are paired so I won't call super eagles inferior because they lost, I'm still cheering them to win the third place match against Egypt.

I feel there is no much to be said right now because since yesterday I have really lost faith in them well I most said it was not that easy for them to just have missed such opportunities that yesterday, I feel their is more to those game been played yesterday i feel the referee was a bit to much when he was given judgements over so many of our players yesterday he was really be unfair to us that yesterday, this was really a discussion of another day self…

The super eagles really did there best despite the fact that winning was far fetched. The only thing I noticed that wasn't working was there mid field. Unlike others matches they played with other team they were able to have complete pass in the mid field. But between them and Morocco it wasn't possible. If not that the supper eagle defence was really strong, Morocco team would have won before the 90 minutes. Super eagles needs to work on there performance in terms of playing penalties. They lose to Dr Congo in the world cup playoffs, still as a result of poor penalty shootout, same thing with Morocco.

They were trying to drag to a penalty shootout but sadly they were the unfortunate ones at that. The Nigerian team got exhausted at the extra time and while trying to maybe get a goal and avoid the penalty shootout they wanted it but we don't really do well in that except our goalie is exceptional but this time our opponent goalie was also excellent and then we suffer from it.

I think they didn't give much attention during their plans for a penalty shootout or maybe not, after all as ironic as it seems football happens.

I think Samuel Chukwueze was very nonchalant taking the penalty, he was chewing gum and the run up to taking the penalty was too nonchalant, Leo Messi has had that type of penalty against France in the World Cup finals but that is Messi.

Samuel Chukweze came in the finals minutes of the game and I’m not even sure if he was able to even get in contact with the ball for up to five times. The zeal to play and win was not in him, so he shouldn’t have been allowed to play in the penalty shootout. In the end of it all, we were eliminated from the AFCON through penalty shootout just like we were also eliminated in the World Cup. There is need to improve in that regard from the whole team.

When they really got to the point of penalty i was very surprised and scared even though I didn’t start the games from the start i was just following up and at some points i got when I was expecting the super eagles to pull out the super giants in them and nothing really changed at that point I got to no that this game was not really for us because I have noticed that the super some how are not much good when it comes to the draw game and when it get to the penalty kick they always fall out hands, well I think if I got reminded the last three seasons on what happened that time to say the super are not to good in the games of penalties I have study them in such games most times…

That means many of us really noticed how the Super Eagles managed to play their penalty kicks unprofessionally, this shows that they need to work in that aspect also. They were also eliminated from the World Cup qualifiers because of poor their penalty kicks were, they need to improve in that aspect because they’re all part of what makes a team a formidable one to rely on.

So many players in the Super Eagles team were scared of coming out to take the penalty shootout, even those top players we mostly see them perform well in the pitch, they were also scared of coming out with the courage to take the kick, this is how scary it can be and they need to work on that to better themselves in competitions like this. Hard luck to them and best of luck to the host team in the finals.

Super eagles performance wasn’t so bad in the match, but just as you said, they were reluctant in the match, their was no much pressure on Moroccan that was why the match ended as draw, if the super eagles had mounted pressure on the Moroccan defense, then maybe they would have scored before the match ended.

It’s so sad that the super eagles couldn’t even get to the final, I was just confident in them with the way they have been playing in the AFCON, but they disappointed me yesterday because they couldn’t win Morocco. The match ended as draw and they went to a penalty shootout which super eagles ended up losing, we all know penalty is luck, and super eagles weren’t lucky yesterday.

I came across this tending news of Davido one of the Nigerian most famous international musician betting this huge amount of money money in the recent Nigeria and Morocco semi final AFCON match that took place yesterday.
The celebrity actually lost the huge amount of stake as Nigeria losses the match neither did they played and the game outcome came under the over 1.5 with the standard countdown to win the bet also cut it off on the 0:0 fulltime and extra time of the match.

But there's no need for alarm or gossip because his net worth is higher than what he lost. Only that we need to treat gambling with caution.

The Super Eagles are demoralized over the loss to Morroco, Egypt is likely winning them in the third place race, they never wished for that position, so, they may not invest their all in winning the Egyptians. It was quite a good time with the Super Eagles, they did their best in this year's Afcon.

Nothing to be demoralised about it, we've had a great time in this competition, the boys did their best and the same with the manager and fans. And if Egypt wins the third place position, no problem,  all we've ever wanted was the first position and we couldn't get it. It was clear that referee didn't really cared about Nigeria, and I am not even from Africa, like not just not Nigerian but I am nowhere from Africa and yet even I can watch the game and tell that referee made sure that Nigeria lost, and it was clear that they wanted to make sure he can do whatever he can to let the game go when Nigerians were fouled, and that is why they lost.

Don't get me wrong Morocco is a great team, they were at semi finals at last world cup, they were the ones who beat Ronaldo, but in this game Nigeria deserved it more. Lol, you're right, when they are being hyped then it means they will disappoint soon. I remember reading your post sometime ago about not expecting much from the Super Eagles noting out that they can't be trusted and relying on them will only lead to heart break. I am surprised to see you're still hurt from the loss, I thought you don't take them seriously anymore although it's our country so we will always feel bad when they are not performing well especially when they went as far as reaching the Semi Final.
Yesterday was terrible for me as well, Real Madrid lost, Nigeria lost and my club Chelsea lost as well.

That's right, a team do well in competitions like this when they are determined and more serious. They acted as if it's not important, that's one of the reasons that hinder their success in competition like this, they don't play with heart like they meant it. I think Samuel Chukwueze was put in to play the penalty, the coach will not just put him in less than one minute before the whistle and he did not have any touch if it wasn’t for him to take a penalty.
And he was selected as one of the first two players to take the penalty for Nigeria further proven that the coach thought he has the ability. I am not saying Chukwueze does have the ability but I am trying to make you understand that Chukwueze was brought in only because of the penalties.

I doubt Chukwueze has ever been in this position before in his career. His nonchalant attitude towards the penalty kick cost us a lot. It would be better if he had struck the ball with a shot than to give the goalkeeper the ball so easily. Eric Cheillle will take this chance to groom this team on penalty performance.

chukuwueze really broke a lot of people's hearts, maybe you are right, they are mot competent at all in playing penalty kick at all because tell me why someone that has a lot of experience and plays in the premier league miss such an opportunity he had..a lot of people said he didn't attempt to score and that he just passed the ball to the goal keeper, from the way it looked I think that they are right, it was a disappointing game
