At this point there is nothing to be impressed about the super eagle team honestly, not making it to the 2026 World Cup despite all the advantages they had just proved how poor the team is, a celebration on a victory against Jamaica is uncalled for and I my self backlashed the coach for the rubbish celebration, knowing fully that the World Cup is kicking off in 10days time and my country won’t be participating because they failed to win ordinary DR Congo it’s really annoying. The super eagle team was known for participation in the world tournament always I don’t know what sort of player we have in the team that play like they have no passion for the flag they represent.

So, because we didn't make it to the world cup we shouldn't jubilate over another success? 

Are we going to mourn missing the world cup forever? I know it's painful to watch other countries playing in the biggest tournament in the world while your country is left out but we have to accept our fate and move on. We can not continue to let that pain harm us, success does not only come from world cup. We should join the super eagle to celebrate our victory in the unity Cup.

The Unity Cup is a small tournament and it holds no value because it is organize for diasporas in England and there is qualification round for it, and every country that played in this year's Unity Cup used their reserved players which show how meaningless the tournament is. I believe the England government organized the Unity Cup for diasporas in England just to show appreciation for the value they are adding to England. The Unity Cup is an upgraded training session, so the super eagles coach see it as an opportunity to feature some players who have not had the opportunity to feature for the super eagles in a game.

That's the point I was trying to make. Chelles used this tournament as an opportunity to feature some players to see their performances and how to integrate them into the full squad list not only that, I also think he tried some possible formation to see how it could fit in the team's activities and how fast they could easily conform to the new formation.

I guess you don't want him to awaken the anger in you again by bringing the thoughts of Nigeria not being qualified for the world cup, it is annoying indeed and the moment I also remember that Nigerian Super Eagles are not playing as a country, it got me pissed off because I don't see it as much fun when I can't find any of my supported teams playing, I know that the way we perform in Africa is not as how other continents like Europe and England do play, but at least in Africa, I don't expect Nigeria to be this cheaply eliminated from the world cup.

The tournament is an Afro-Caribbean football competition used to celebrate countries with a large diaspora population in London. Irrespective of the fact that this tournament is not as popular as other football tournament, we want to urge our national team to continue make us proud of our football identity in them.We need them to qualify for world cup, we need them to bring the AFCON trophy home this this time around. They have a good coach and are in good form so they should go for gold next football season for both the world cup and AFCON tournament. In as much as I am a Nigerian, I wish them the very best. When did the Unity Cup competition start? Congratulations to the super eagles for winning the Unity Cup. Yes the victory was well deserved, the super eagles has won the Unity Cup back-to-back and it seems there is no country that will stop their dominance in the Unity Cup right now so the super eagles would likely win it again next season. I cannot remember the last time the super eagles qualified for the world cup and bring the Afcon trophy home like you said, so if the super eagles can do this in the future i will be happy.

Well, the unity cup is not a new competition, it was held in 2002 in London and then in 2004 and now Nigeria won it again in 2025 and that shows their strong record in the tournament. And I think I have to congratulate the super eagles because they've obviously been the most successful team in the competition because they've won the competition for the third time now. But while winning the unity cup is encouraging, we really want the super eagles to qualify for the world cup and also win the AFCON, they won their last AFCON title in 2013 and have not been able to win the title ever since and they've not qualified for the world cup for a while too and that's what the fans need that they qualify for the world cup or win  the AFCON title. Nigeria has good players and is still producing world class players but they really need to drop their personal ambitions and select a team that will be willing to play well for the team and get the results we want.

It is only if you have not been on the media that you would still blame players for the poor performance of the general team. We saw the news sometime this year of how player suffering and not receiving enough benefits for the efforts they are putting into play for the national team how they are being owed salaries, lodged in poor substandard hotels and poor quality training materials because of our football federation have corrupt officials who are more focused on embezzling the funds allocated to them instead of using it for what it has been meant for. I feel like if there is no change from our Football Federation We may never see our super eagles soar so far so high as before.

The World Cup would have been more interesting to watch if Nigeria was among the African countries that will be representing Africa continent in the World Cup, even as Nigeria didn't qualify for the World Cup I am going to enjoy the World Cup and I already have the country I am supporting in the World Cup as if they are my country and that country is Portugal. I'm supporting Portugal in the World Cup because I am a die hard fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, and since this World Cup is going to be his last World Cup I want him and Portugal to lift this season's World Cup.

Thank you for this update. I didn’t watch the match but from your analysis, I can tell that both teams are quite strong on the same performance level. This goal to Tanzania is in my estimation, a mistake from the Senegalese side that the Tanzanians quickly took advantage of. I am sure that there would be more games coming up and then we will be able to gauge the teams’ performance. Are you betting on any game in this tournament?
