Is a big award that would give any player who earned it a large portfolio, this award is like the type we saw on the AFCON during the time of Ademola Lookman that they got nominated, usually I think the players they use to nominate is four players and what they nominate here is five players, perhaps they don't usually have a specific number however I support Chiamaka because she earned it by hardworking and not by consideration because she performed more than every other person on the list, was Nigeria the one that won the last one? Because I no that nigeria has win this before for winning ten times.

I'm psyched for the afcon later this year. I feel like the timing is awesome and will be very benefitting. I would also love Nigeria to with the afcon this time. We came close last time and lost the finals despite being the best team on paper. It would be interesting to see all new progress that the African football industry has made since the last afcon.

I just checked the list to see that no Nigerian player made that list, I can only see two African players which are Melchie Dumornay from Haiti who plays for Lyon and Temwa Chawinga from Malawi that plays for Kansas City, it's not easy to make the nomination list for the Ballon d'Or and if those girls made it means they had a very impressive performance despite not playing for bigger clubs in the female league we should show support for them even though they won't win it. Well our Nigerian girls are trying and I believe that After this performance in the Afcon many big clubs in the female leagues would come after them which could give them opportunities to be nominated in future if they keep doing better, I support your statement concerning Asisat Oshoala I'm hoping she wins it before she retires cause she's had a fantastic career so far.

Asisat has a good and credible profile to start with, and she has a good career, and she is well recognised globally as a playmaker on the pitch. Why will she be ignored? She has been on the team list that won the past years' WAFCON trophy, and that alone should have paved the way for her to clinch a Ballon d'Or award. After all the strong performance put in by both Senegal and Nigeria, the Senegalese went home with the victory at the end of the day. The one goal is the evidence, so the Super eagles should do better next time, and stop giving unnecessary excuse or say things that will justify their loss.

I am generally proud of the African teams they are doing well. That being said, the Super Eagles have a problem and that problem is not even about the players or the coach. It is not about the formation or the tactics, it is about our leadership. This is one thing that I continue to say over and over again. Once you can fix the leadership of the NFF, even our team B will rise to the occasion. We are blessed with many talents but management and leadership are key issues. Until then, we will continue to struggle and have mediocre results.

TBH, the AFCON gets better each time it is played, the last time was a spectacle and i am sure the 2025 AFCON would even be better. Talking about the timing, yes, this is the first time the tournament would start in December and be played in the Christmas and New Year season, it should be lovely, enjoying the tournament during the holidays.

Morocco is the host nation. Last time, the host nation Ivory Coast won it, of course i want Nigeria to win it, maybe even sweeter if we beat the host nation in the final this time around.

The latest world female football team ranking shows Falcons at  36th position, which I don't really get clear even with the recent victory and back-to-back matches they have won.

Yes, things are getting much better than they used to be in the past. Our ladies are really making us proud and seeing one of them being nominated for ballon d'Or awards, it shows that the world is beginning to look into African football. If the women can gain such attraction, then the men can also do much better, but looking at the men now, I do not think they are ready for anything as they are not showing any sign of enthusiasm for their call up. The other day one of the super eagles player said things about the team not being serious with national call up when he was being interviewed. He said that his colleagues do not take matches serious compared to their club side as they do. He said lots that made me question the authenticity of the super eagles players  because so far I have not really seen the team spirit as it used to be back then, but I could see the team spirit in the Falcons whenever they play.

One of the challenges i see that Nigerians also have to put into consideration is by placing the females with top priorities, ad it been the ladies were not able to made it to the finals, non of us would have been talking and celebrating them the way we are doing today, this shows that they lack much anticipation required to pitch their value and most Nigerians don't see them the same way the super eagles are performing, we all know how the internet can be flooded by any sparking reaction/discussions about the super eagles, while that of the women is less talked about, and all these matters at long, but i also expect that they should be able to identify some outstanding player in the like of Asisat for the award and recognition needed.

I can agree with the notion that our major challenges are management and leadership because if there is proper management and leadership, they will be able to draft out proper incentives to keep these players motivated, set up proper training facilities for these players to keep their spirit high, and build a system such that there is always availability of logistics whenever these players are on international duty.

If there is a system that these players can trust, a system that these players know values them, they will give their all on international duty as they do in their clubs, and our team performances will improve.

Of course, the leadership of the Super Eagles is the major problem of the team, and because of this issue, it is affecting everything about the team. One thing that is so concerning about this problem is that the Super Eagles' leadership is not even doing anything for the good transformation of the team, which I know they are not. When the management of a team is not doing well, it is impossible for the team to perform well, and this problem is not a result of the players or the coach.

I think you have pointed some disparity in recognition and the support between Nigeria men's and women's football teams, while the women's team has achieved notable success, they often receive less attention and celebration compared to their male counterparts, just take look at this outstanding players like Asisat Oshaola can help raise thier profile and advocate for greater recognition and support for women's footballin Nigeria.

If you follow Women football well you’ll know they’re still far in their racial preferences and sensitivity. I’m not bothered that Asisat Oshoala isn’t on the list, the times she would have won it or come close atleast to top 3 or 5 she wasn’t recognised, her exploits at Barcelona and the National team in her prime. Even while she was top scorer at Barcelona sometimes she still comes from the bench.


Talking about this African Nations Championship, Uganda seems to be in top form firing in all cylinders, the South Africans is also a team known for having good home based players but they had a tough start hoping to see how they progress. The Nigerian Team needs to unlock their goal scoring form and win their remaining games if they are to go further in this competition.
