Are we all not tired yet of all these unending calculations the Super Eagles have subjected we all to, because am sick and tired of how the giant of Africa and the team with some of the best performing players playing in Europe clubs would be downgraded to struggling to qualify in the WC qualifiers. Tonight against Benin, they played with beast performance but sadly such outstanding performance was coming late only landing them to playoffs. Now what's next?

I wish we played this way throughout the qualifiers, too bad we only brought this version of ourselves in the last match. Over all, no team was really exceptional in our group, because despite our abysmal performance, we were only one point away from top spot. That said, congratulations to Bafana Bafana, they were one point better. But we also live to fight another day as we move on to the second round as one of the four best runners-up, if we win that round, then we move on to represent Africa in the play-off.

Sadly all the games we lost important points were the 4-5 games Osimhen didn't play in due to injuries. The last minute goals we conceded against Zimbabwe was what cost us this position.

I think that match of Zimbabwe cost the Super Eagles so much because had it been they won that match there is no way they wouldn't have topped the grouped table and make it directly to the world cup without involving themselves in a playoff round. I commend Victor Osimhen for the few matches he represented the Super Eagles, even in that match against Zimbabwe he was the one that scored the goal that would have won the match if not that Zimbabwe equalized at the die minutes and i know how angry Osimhen was that day.

We have the playoff coming up next month, hope we can show the same commitments and performance we shown today. We need to be in this World Cup.

I also want Nigeria to pass through the playoff and qualify for the world cup but what will happen if Nigeria eventually qualifies because if they must go far in the world cup if they qualify, they need to take their matches serious especially the first two matches because if they can win, it can guarantee them a spot in the knockout stages.

I have not been a party to discussions about the Africa football but osimeh touched my heart with his performance today and I was clued to just him in my screen and in today’s match, he labored for everything he played today and he took today’s game very serious and truly his an agba baller which means, he truly plays well.
I do not want to totally give up our country yet and I’m not even bothered about us qualifying for the WC, I am concerned on what’s next after now, I mean after qualifying what’s next ?

South Africa is in the first position in Nigeria group though the point difference is not much but I doubt if Nigeria can make it to the world  cup next year since it is only a country that will qualify, I mean that is what I heard but not sure yet. To me, Nigeria didn't play a nice football today against Benin, I mean there was no pressure, no curiosity, I would say they were flat footed even though they win the game, it was not an impressive play they really need to work hard and improve because if they manage to qualify to world cup next year with this form they will be out in group stage.

According to a post by Fabrizio Romano, after the Super Eagles of Nigeria won Benin by a whooping 4:0 defeat today, they have qualified for the play-off round which is quite interesting but my question is that can the Super Eagles scale through the play-off round and qualify for the world cup proper? It will make no sense after all these struggles and they couldn't make it to the world cup at last, it will just be like a wasted effort and i don't want them to experience such. At least for the sake of Victor Osimhen who has made wonderful performance in the qualifier matches, i wish Nigeria will qualify so that he can play at the 2026 world cup because it will be so painful that a world class player like Victor Osimhen will be nowhere to be found at the world cup due to his country not being able to qualify.

What gives me joy is the way they arrange this picture of Osimhen and the caption is just awesome. Let's say up to 99% of Nigeria supporters didn't believe the Super Eagles will beat Benin 4nil because since this qualifiers they haven't been up to speed and is a big shame to see the Eagles play out 5 draws which is something we never expected, they struggled too much in this qualification. It should have been more winnings than draws and we won't have been in this mess today but thank God for the way and manner they approached the game knowing fully well what's at stake and the kind of team they're playing against, at least they didn't wait for any team to win before they could sit up.
We couldn't ask more from the big man Osimhen, he allowed the flow of the game to come in and he embraced it, he really enjoyed the game today. Well, the Super Eagles didn't top the group but they finished 2nd, I believe it will make them sit up in this difficult part in the playoff and I know they'll qualify, they have learnt their lesson and I can't wait to see them play.

Thanks for your understanding mate. I never expected the Super Eagles to defeat Benin Republic today because I have watched their previous games and I didn't see the seriousness in the team to qualify for the world cup and when I saw the games and the way Benin plays their games you could see the way the team is organized and the way they control the game but today they were totally dismantled by the Super Eagles as our goal keeper was just resting till the end of the game. I understand that Nigeria should have qualified if they performed the way they did today in their previous games but since they have come this far we should support them regardless.

Some how the Nigerian never giving up spirit actually worked out today, this is a super eagles team that finds it difficult to score goals but today super eagles were able to score four goals despite their fans giving up hope on them.its really unfortunate that Nigeria is struggling to qualify from a group that has Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and south Africa respectively. I just hope that Nigeria will be taking this form into the playoffs because they will meet teams from other confederations.

The squad was different, just like this we now have our starting lineups. If the manager knows best he would consider using this very squad to start every of his competition. A few player can be replaced like Simon, though he tried assisting twice but he dulled some important counter and couldn't press further. Also, our number 6 today was somehow lazy on the ball, which i assume that he hasn't build the confidence yet, all together, Super Eagles gave an outstanding performance, it's been a very long time experiencing such electrifying performance from the team.

The Super Eagles were absolutely brilliant today. They approached the game with the right mentality and got the job done. This is no doubt their best performance in the qualifiers. The last time I saw the Super Eagles play like this was in the last AFCON tournament, which they lost to the host nation. They really made me happy, and I just hope we can bring our A-game in the next stage. We need to go to the World Cup.

Yes you are correct, they fight harder because I believe in is not over until is over, securing 2goals in the first half shows that they ready to win but what I won't like is amlwing their opponent to score, what the need to do in the second half of this match is to play without fear so that they won't give their opponent the impression that they can be penetrated, more goals should be scored because thats what we need, with what i have seen so far, I think this match ought to have been seal by the Nigerian supper eagles, their opponent should not be seen as a weaker team, just as I said, it is not ever until is over, no chances should be entertained by the super eagles at this point.

Nigeria were able to edge out Benin with 4 goals to nil and I must say that it's being a while the Super Eagles played and kept a clean sheet. Believe me, if they had been playing like this in all the times they had games, they would not have had the issue of having to qualify via playoffs because today, they displayed full confidence and dominance, characteristics that had been missing in their previous games.
It's a good thing they won today and very comfortably at that. Let's hope that the next phase they do better because it's sad that the two African Best Players haven't had the opportunity to play in the WC so it should serve as a motivating force to drive them into success.

Absolutely.. Winning Benin Republic didn't gives us a chance to qualify to the playoff. The goals he scored gave us hope while the last goal scored by Onyeka sealed it for the Super Eagles.

On paper Nigeria is the favorite team because it's better than Cameroon, which is the other strong team. Then we have Gabon and DR Congo, and they are just average teams. Nigeria can actually make it!

We need to go to World Cup but unfortunately our easier ticket to make it to the World Cup was not utilized well. Nigeria still needs to put more effort than what they’ve putting into the game so far. The playoffs game will come in stages before they get a final ticket to the World Cup. Even if they prevail in the matches against the CAF teams, they still need to win at least one or two matches depending on their FIFA ranking against other teams playing in the in inter-confederation playoffs. This may not come easier for them but using the same tenacity they used in their last qualifying games, they can achieve success and make it to the World Cup next year.

Have you watch these sides play?! Lol. Nigeria has big names all around the world but on the pitch? Where it's all decided? Lol, you'd want to throw your yourself on the floor rolling. Cameroon and Gabon wouldn't be easy fixtures, but Congo could be aced swiftly. We're going through a lot of work to make it to the FIFA World Cup, it will be sad if the country who's produced the last two African best players are not present. That fourth goal from Onyeka yesterday sealed this place for us, but I want to give a s/o to all these players.

Well their performance yesterday still raise some hope that was initially lost to the citizens, particularly me my hope of seeing them in the world cup was retracted before now, but if they can still show better performance with any play off coming next week to position themselves in the world cup better for them as the citizens will support them with their strength.

It's not laughable we keep having heart break when we watched their matches been lost with common team and nation we are better than and even have better players all over the globe. Osimhen performance is commendable that last goal is what ensure they are out and ready to correct some errors.

The super eagles out performed themselves yesterday compared to most of their previous matches, at first Benin republic seemed unbeatable for the super eagles but coordinated player performance with Osimhen starting his scoring streak very early in the match served as a discouragement to the opposing team, they just seemed stunned, unable to put their own team in order against the super eagles which was ultimately what paved the way for Osimhen to score his other two goals and for Onyeka to be able to net the final goal, if they keep up with this kind of player performance then the playoffs won't be too much of a stress for them and qualifying for the World cup would be a breeze.

Firstly I want to say a big congratulations to the super eagles for winning yesterday's match against Benin republic, they have to some extent redeemed their image as a team to contend with in African football. Also Osimhem, showed us that he is a word class player and saved us from shame in African football. That said I think that it is a shame that we football fans in Nigeria, have been subjected to being mathematicians by calculating points and the chances of our qualification. I hope that they quality despite all the odds against them because it'll be a pride to see our flag flying in the finals of the world cup.
