The Nigerian team were impressive in this game as they showed class and dominance.much people didn't give them too much chances going into this tournament, Nigeria were the first team to get Nine points at this ongoing Afcon as the super eagles won all their three games in the group stages of the competition. We are now going into the most crucial part of the tournament were there is no room for errors and mistake so maintaining this momentum is very important if Nigeria hopes to go far in this tournament.

Today's match was all about Nigeria, they clearly dominated the match totally in all angles, the Ugandan team was not able to do much throughout the game except for the the goal they scored with the assist from a beautiful through pass. They conceded a red card so early in the second half and it added to their problems on the pitch.
 
Osimhen did not score today but his work rate and coordination ability is top notch, the Nigerian team remained focused throughout the game and they emerged victorious and topping the group stage with 9 points. They did well today, congratulations to them

Nigeria has really shown great tenacity in their previous games winning back to back matches scoring three goals in each which we don't see often. Uganda conceded a red card in the 56th of the game after Nigeria was ahead by a goal to nil, but soon enough toe more goals kept flying in but surprisingly no goal came from the prominent striker, Victor Osimhen.

I found osimhen assisting more than attempting to take the front leader of goals as expected, before he was changed he showed support for every front player and yes he doesn’t necessarily need to score, as others scored for the team it’s a total win and the win is for everyone, if he becomes selfish with the goals or aim at being the only person in the goals then it’s will end up in a bad result, he is not Messi only Messi is expected to lead with goals at all cost.

Honestly,I like the way Nigeria dominated their opponents in the group stages, they won three of their group stage matches. Nigeria became the first team to win three of their group stage matches, secured 9 points and qualify for the next round. I did not expect them to play at this level in the group stage because we are a team that always disappoints their fans, they have disrespected us many times, I still remember the last Afcon we lost in the final.

Nigeria did well in the group stage, winning three of their matches, the most important thing is that they do not disappoint the fans in the next round. I hope some of our key players don’t get get injure in the next round, because this is where we don’t have to joke with any opponent we face. If they take their games seriously, we can make it to the final.

Although is AFCON for all reasons hasn’t actually carried the same hype as we had in the last editor at Ivory Coast but to be honest the clear difference has been that the top footballing countries have actually made their marks in this competition, so base on that as we move to the knockout stages of this competition I think it will be actually scary for any team to face a top opponent. As it stands today both DR Congo and Senegal are favourites too and it not be easy  for any of the countries you listed if they go against any of them. For me DR Congo can take on any of this team on their day.

As for Nigeria, our total dominance in this group stage games actually brings fear to me a little bit because Nigeria that I know can simply go to knockout stages now with over confidence and get knocked out. One thing is Nigeria is conceding a lot and it’s alarming because once we go behind I thin it will be hard to come back

Onyedika did a great job today, scoring two goals consecutively in the 60 mins of play. As for Osihmen he is a star, his presence is all that was required of him, and he delivered just that. Nigeria did fine today, they only have one job to do, which is to stay relevant in their team work, down to the end of the competition, for anything that drops this tempo they've possessed, could affect the progress of the super eagles.

Super eagles performance is just unpredictable, we can see how they have been performing since the beginning of the AFCON tournament, their performance has not been so bad, they are able to win all the three matches which they played in their group, and they are able to get 9 points which put them at the top of the table. I don’t know if the super eagles will be able to maintain their good performance, and they will be able to win the AFCON for us.

We can all see difference in super eagles performance in this AFCON tournament, and how they performed during the World Cup qualifiers, there is improvement in super eagles performance right now, and if they had performed like this during the World Cup qualifiers, maybe we will be part of the country’s that will be participating in the World Cup. If the super eagles cant qualify for the World Cup, at least they should win the AFCON for us.

The Ugandan National team features a player of Nigerian descent  Uche Ikpeazu who is hoping to beat Nigeria in order to give his team a hope or chance of qualifying. He has come out to say sorry to his Dad in case he scores against Nigeria. But what are the chances of him scoring against the Super Eagles?… it’s not like he’s one worldie exceptional player but sometimes luck shines on this kind of people just to mark history.
But in his case even if he scores there’s no way they’re beating the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

That shouldn't be the case, we have so many players around the world that players for bigger sides but this very guy can't be a threat to the Eagles in this encounter, we should see this as one of those headlines on paper and the net h. For me I think the Eagles should make sure of getting something productive in this game and not to lose it if not they are going to give the Uche Ikpeazu a chance to say more things after this game, the Super Eagles need to shut him up completely without him seeing anything close to a goal or an assist.

Uche Ikeazu is facing a lot of difficulty upfront as Calvin Bassey is strongly tackling him. The Super Eagles have been able to lead 1-0. But one thing I noticed about the squad is the fact that, some Super Eagles players like Paul Onuachu and some other players that haven't played in the first two games have been featured in this encounter, at least to help warm their legs preparing them for the battle ahead.

I so much love how the defenders made Uche Ikeazu feel, uncomfortable and you could see him trying to do something in as much as they caged him down, I so much love how he controlled every ball that comes to him and that's the kind of player the Super Eagles need as a back up striker in case Osimhen is not available. Well the way and manner the players played today was different, let's forget about the red card, even before that they made sure of not allowing the Uganda players enjoy their game, that's how I expect them to keep pressing and pushing forward to get goals, they should use this same effort and add up something new in their next game and I believe we would scale through to the next round. Good thing I got something in today's game.

Many of us are supporting Nigeria in fear because we are aware of the disappointments of the past but regardless, they are still our own and we should keep supporting them to become better. Since today's match wasn't important the coach should have rested Victor Osimhen against their next game in the knockout stages but he ended up starting him. Well, since their next match is on 5th of January, they must have rested enough to face their opponent. We should just keep our hopes high that the Super Eagles will be victorious at the AFCON but our expectations should not be too high to avoid a heartbreak if peradventure they fails.

For someone that love football and with Nigeria being one of the best AFCON can offer, if we’ve ever watched Nigeria games and be surprised at the result, this tournament is the one time we can say Nigerian Super Eagles are coming out to show what they’ve got in their squad and what they could do with it.
It’s just amazing how they’ve been able to find good rhythm and are dominating every one of their games, taking the lead and have their opponents chase them for a draw but, never gives it up. Good one Super Eagles, just hope they could keep this up.

The work of a striker is more than just scoring goals. His work is to make runs and move defenders so that more space can open for other players to have opportunities to score. His work is also a threat to their defense, winning aerial balls, and dueling. Not forgetting hold-up play, which is very important.

Osimehn is doing exactly what he is meant to be. When the opponent are trying to defend against him, big opportunies open for his team maters to score.

Can we say is the first time this super eagles is wining all the country on there group?, this is there third time they have gotten victory, the Tunisia I thought would be the first has become the second instead of also learning from the eagles, non of the super eagles regular scorers scored any of this three goal, Onyedika do score but when we are looking for those who does it he will be far but however that is not important because what is needed is actually what he has done for the team. They have not revealed the country super eagles will play after this group stage, after the last day of the group stage we would no.

You're right, trusting them will be a mistake because we have been in this same situation numerous times and in the end disappointment is what we get. This isn't the first time so I will be careful with trusting them even after winning all group stage matches. I also reduced my expectations with Nigeria in terms of competitive games to limit heart break.

My prayer is that they come out victorious in all fixtures till they win the trophy but I am not trusting them fully, they managed to score and win but their overall performance am still not impressed with it. I want to see how they will perform when they face a stronger opponent.
I won't be surprised if Nigeria losses in their game because their performance has not been stable recently I think they're just lucky not to have lose or draw any match yet. Let's just see how far they can go this around because in the last AFCON they managed to reach the final.

This is his first time starting for Nigeria in the AFCON. A boy who started playing football in the streets is now fulfilling his dreams by representing his country in the AFCON competition.

You are absolutely right bro, just exactly same way I resolved that I don't and won't care about celebrating any Nigerian wins during this afcon season until I see them lift the trophy, because it's just exactly as you said it, the super eagles are very good at raising the hope of their fans and when things get very critical at the moment when they are expected to win at all cost, they end up losing and nothing is as disappointing as this, you as an individual may walk that whole day feeling very disappointed and sad like you lose money, this is what too much attention to sports and to underperforming team does, they ruin one's day.

But then on the other hand, I commend their effort so far though. I've not watched any of their match to avoid stress but at the end, I always learn they won, and the nigerian in me is still happy, let's see what the final outcome will become.

I don't see anything special about players like Kylian Mbappe, Jules Kounde, and Aurelien Tchouameni watching the match between Ivory Coast and Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations because they are from African. I just feel that they came to show support for the country they were supposed to play for had the been they didn't pledged allegiance to France.

Man those guys are stars you have to show them some respect because they left the comfort of their homes to come show support to their brothers and fellow team mates who are representing their countries in the competition so if it's not special to you just know that you don't understand the beauty of the game of football which is love. Not everyone will want to represent his country of origin because most of them didn't start their careers in Africa and you shouldn't blame them for that but if you see them showing support you have to appreciate them.

I know that those players that came to watch Ivory Coast and Cameroon play in the African Cup of Nations are all super stars, and even though they left the comfort of their homes to come show support for their brothers and fellow team mates, I don't see anything special in that because anyone can watch African Cup of Nations matches. I am not blaming them for not playing for their African countries because even if I were in their shoes, I would follow the same footsteps.

Populuv, it has being long the super Eagles have played like this,I have waited for so long to witness the super Eagles in this Form.I remember the days of Jay Jay okocha,the super Eagles were in top form, that you have 100% confident in them that they will win every matches they play. This is exactly the same top form as in the days of okocha and I'm confident in the super eagles that they would beat every other team in this tournament. I don't care how trained other national teams are, the Super eagles are well trained for this tournament ,they came prepared and they wouldn't disappoint us.
