Even the 2027 AFCON will not be like before again and there will be many references from the 2025 AFCON. In most cases the referees are the cases of those problems. And from what happened recently, the CAF president, country National Teams and officiating officers have learn a lot. Everyone will be maintaining their ground. Morocco would have been punished for many charges but CAF is only interested in the Senegal victory.
Since CAF do always favour any country that host the African cup of nations, and they made the last one so obvious, then people won’t really take the competition serious anymore, people will already assume CAF will want the country that host the competition to win it, so why even waste time watching it. I feel CAF will just have to change, they have to be neutral, they should allow us enjoy the competition, and any country that performs better should win the trophy, trying to favour any country will make them lose value.
I have finally lost interest in AFCON after what played out in this last one that was hosted in Senegal. Just because we don't have much countries that shows interest on hosting AFCON doesn't mean that the few who've volunteered to host it should be highly favored in order for them to win the competition.

I believe that's the same thing that will repeat itself again in the upcoming one because CAF hasn't changed.
Change to what? Is it to be less corrupt or remain corrupt? For CAF to push for Senegal to return the AFCON trophy, declaring Morocco the winner of the AFCON tournament, so many things have played out between CAF and Morocco. I like how Senegal refuses to release the AFCON trophy, taking CAF to the world court to defend themselves on how Morocco team should be the winner of AFCON after many months of declaring them that.
Well I think that the main decision look like political issues i think this is what it does seems likes…well to me I felt when the CAF overturned a result it was more influence not following of the rules of the game…it was more over familiarity that was the big issue there..
Am giving it a through that if the CAF keeps operating the way it did here, the corruption is to obvious l label sticks. If they actually enforce rules the same way for Morocco, Senegal, Nigeria, that’s the change people want….

Good news for the Senegalese Fans that were detained in Morocco as a result of CAF final fallout which ended up in a clash between the fans of the two countries, which led to the fans been detained. Well CAF has confirmed their release and praised the Moroccan king for the pardon he gave the Senegalese Fans. But this is not a very good thing because if Moroccan authorities could hold fans for up to six months before releasing them simply because they lost and things didn't go their way. Any other nation too will do this if they host and result did go their way. The question I want to ask is how many of the Moroccan fans that were seen on camera dragging goal keeper towels and were intimidating opposition teams and their Fans were determined this is really shameful.

Even if CAF likes favouring the host of the Afcon tournament, the host of the Afcon tournament do not always win the Afcon tournament, so i believe that alone will not make people not to take the Afcon tournament serious, what i believe will make people not to take the Afcon tournament serious is the act of CAF trying to strip Senegal the Afcon trophy and hand it over to Morocco. This current CAF executives are evil and they will never change, and as far as they are in charge of making decisions concerning African football they will keep favoring the country they want to favour in Afcon tournament.

I also don't think that CAF is bent on favoring host nations in AFCON competitions because it is not in every tournament that host nations wins the AFCON trophy. What is happening here is that CAF leadership intentionally favored a team and country that pleased them not minding the bad reputation it will give them as AFCON organizers, everybody that watched that finals will agree that it wasn't only senegals that were unruly so why bring down the hammer on them while leaving Morocco, out. The truth is that after this CAF verdict by stripping Senegal of winning this AFCON they have also stripped CAF reputation which is a minus for African football.

Their judgement in that final destroyed the remaining reputation of CAF, they just wanted Morocco to win the tournament and they tried by always officiating against any team playing with Morocco, they did it with Nigeria and they did it with Senegal in the final which was very disappointing and because that didn’t work they decided to take a trophy that was already lifted by Senegal to another country what a shameful act done by CAF.
I always ask why have CAF refused to look into the officiating of that match to see if the officiating was against Senegal so they can sanction the referee that officiated in that match of cause they will not do that because they have a similar goal which is to hand over the trophy to Morocco.

As far as am concern, caf as a governing body is corrupt, so what else do you expect from a footballing body that their corrupt has gone globally like caf?
At first I was really angry at caf for destroying African football with corruption, but as it stands now, I am just fed up because for them to go to the extent of demanding that Senegal returns back the trophy shows how shameless or low they can go. I just hope that the final judgement at the court of arbitration for sport favours Senegal and put caf and the Moroccans fa to shame for try to buy their way to the trophy.

This is one of the reasons why African football hasn't had any significant progress. That final was a disaster, it clearly shows that Caf was supporting Morocco to win the trophy. The partiality has been happening since they qualified to the round of 16. It's been a long time since they last won the Afcon, so they want every possible means to win it. They got an underserving penalty at the end of the game but lost it. Maybe the universe was against them winning it. CAF won't even bother to look at the officiating mistakes against Senegal especially that Goal that was cancelled,  Senegal winning the trophy is not of their interest. This is why African countries doesn't do well in the FIFA world cup.

But to be sincere, the AFCON tournament usually favours the host nations because of the familiar environment, crowd support and even some controversial decisions but when we look at history we will realise that not all nations that host this tournament in the past have actually won the AFCON title except for recent times when almost all the past 3-4 AFCON it was the host countries that won it but most  it's always about the teams performance on the pitch that guarantees the win. But I still know that many of us still believes that CAF are not been fair and transparent in their decision, we all expected football decisions to be made without favouritism or political influence  and if fans continue to believe that certain decisions are made to favour a particular country of interest then trust in the whole competition can be damaged. I still want to believe that the accusations of stripping a country of the title or handling success to another country remain only rumours except they are officially proven. The AFCON is still one of the biggest football tournaments in the world just that CAF needs to be transparent and fair in their decision making so that every fan can trust them.

Yea they are corrupt of course you're right and no one will dispute that fact, this incident that happened has exposed a lot about CAF and it  very bad of them, the CAF president is supposed to have resigned with shame by now, all eyes on African, what a shame.
Who knows how much they were paid to do this, something that would've been done in the pitch if there was need for that, they gave Senegal the trophy and later did their shit then started asking they should handle the trophy to another national team, I'm beginning to think that Morroco thinks that because they are the host country, for that they are in position to be the champions, this is the first time I'm getting to about this in Africa and also this current CAF president happens to be the worst making the news for wrong reasons.

While other countries are preparing for the World Cup, Our super eagles will be playing in a friendly game against Zimbabwe.

It will not be the normal starting xi for Chelle the Nigerian coach, A. Adeoye. F. Azeez, K. Igboke, T. Moffi, T. Nnadi, C. Nwaiwu, I. Ogbu, A. Okonkwo, C. Oputa, P. Otele, T. Oyedokun, M. Atata, A. Ayobami, O. Elias, O. Oseni, S. Tijani, and F. Uzoho are among some of the players in the lineup. The positive thing about this lineup is that new players will be explored.
Do you see Nigeria winning this friendlies with that team, or should the focus not be on winning?

Seeing this discussion pop up annoys me more. Let's try to forget about this issue and try to focus on other important football matters, since this case has remained unturned at this particular time, and I doubt if it will again no matter how much cry that we cry here. It's obvious to the majority of football enthusiasts that CAF is a total failure and a corrupt African governing football body that needs to be abolished because of this very act, or it will get sanctioned, or the FIFA body should sanction or call them into order and further investigate this judgment.

No any big name in the squad list as expected because the match is not that important as the opponents are not serious opposition that will need adequate preparation. The manager Eric Chelle is doing a great job for given the home base players chance to prove their worth, I am sure he will try to get some players to strengthen the Super Eagles squad ahead any serious competition that will come up or ahead of AFCON qualifiers.

All the senior players are still in their respective clubs, some are there and might go straight to watch the World Cup, but I am sure they will be ready to be called up again in case of any serious match because their absence in the World Cup is really painful because Nigerian are not happy, but that’s football, we have to take it.

It would be recorded that the Super Eagles once won Zimbabwe even though it doesn't count cause it's a friendlies but Chelle would have an opportunity to know the strength of some players outside the first team and how well they can perform if given an opportunity to be selected for important matches.

If I'm to watch that match I won't bother whether Nigeria wins or not but would be looking out for the quality of those players you listed cause some of them are new names I've not heard before, I'll love to see new faces that can compete with the guys at the international level for a spot in the first team.
