Morocco started very well, scoring a goal after just 2 minutes, and it's great to start the game with an advantage. They need to defend well and score more goals so that their opponent can't recover and win the game. A victory for Morocco today could give them a great chance of qualifying, since they will then play against a weaker opponent than today's. That's why Morocco needs to win today; a draw or defeat wouldn't be good, because you never know if Scotland might also beat Brazil. So Morocco needs to win today.

Morocco could have won by a wide margin if they had  utilise their chances well. Honestly, Morocco had many goals chances against Scotland in that match but what they lack is finishing. They don't have a strong finisher who will be scoring their goals. I saw many scoring opportunities that Morocco missed, I mean if they had converted those opportunities into goals if not they  would have won by a wide margin. Morocco next game is against Haiti so they better utilise their goals chances very well. Haiti doesn't look like a strong team to me but morocco shouldn't underate them because in football anything can happen. If Morocco doesn't perform well against Haiti,they might not qualify to the next phase of the world cup. Morocco only chances is for them to beat Haiti no matter what it takes.

Morocco gets their 3 points by a narrow margin in their matchday 2 of WC26. In the first half Saibari scored an early goal Morocco dominated with 62% possession ,0.69 xG , 3 big chances created and total of 5 shots . In the second half Morocco gets 56% of the ball, 0.31xG and total of 7 shots. On the other hand Scotland gets 41% of the ball ,0.51xG 1 big chance created and total of 6 shots.Ismael Saibari was named as player of the match. Now Morocco is 2nd in group with 4 points and Scotland on 3rd place with 3 points over Haiti which are in danger zone.

Germany 1 - 1 Ivory Coast with less than few minutes left before the end of the game. Ivory Coast players should hold their positions and pick a point.
Although the relatively big level Germany has, Ivory Coast didn't receive many goals for the moment. At the opposite, Sweden, the team which knocked Tunisia by 5 goals, was also knocked by 5 goals. I wonder how many goals Tunisia will receive from Japan and especially from Netherlands. It will be a party there!

The FIFA world cup tournament has proved just once again that football is unpredictable, just as we thought Brazil and some other countries will keep shining more than other countries in this world cup tournament but it has not been like that,

Honestly the World Cup is just so interesting, and it’s just kind of difficult to predict right now. Some top countries which we think they going to be finding their matches easy, and now struggling to win matches, most gamblers are now so careful, they not always so confident whenever they are placing bet now because anything can just happen. Seriously the World Cup is interesting, and i cant even wait to see the clubs which we will be qualifying for the next round.

All of a sudden I have even asked my self why had this world become so confused and completely different this season because from what it was the last time it was not this bad…it care is not even taken seriously people might began to loss interest in it… And just as you have made mention back then in the time 2022 it was not like this…now they are even trying to beat each other like it now becoming a sweet and not so interesting game to watch, well the only gam which caught my attention was the USA game the last time… well just so unbelievable that Africa team are not doing well self.

They had more speed, more good opportunities to score many goals, but they wasted them as if they had victory guaranteed, while the Germans couldn't even create good chances. With this defeat, Ivory Coast now has to rely on luck to advance to the next phase. Of course, the first matches wasn't impressive especially, the performance of some big teams but we can see that they have started winning their second match to prove that they're not happy with the outcome of their first match.

With what you said, people who aren't following this Word Cup will think that Morocco chances of remaining in the World Cup after the group stage matches are over is through playoffs without them knowing that Morocco has a very high chance to remain in the World Cup. The moment Morocco won Scotland their one leg already was in the round of 32 because their last group stage match is against Haiti, and there's no way Haiti will beat Morocco, so without the playoffs Morocco will still remain in the World Cup after the group stage matches are over.

It was a sad ending for the Ivory Coast and Africa at large. When I thought an African team had qualified for the next round, the brace by  Deniz Undav broke our hearts. I was pleased with them as they showed that they can match any big team in the competition.

Coach Emerse Faé was able to maximize the talent at his disposal. I liked how he used the 19-year-old Yan Diomand and introduced Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo. Diomand's speed and dribbling skills outsmarted Joshua Kimmich, but his passes were not always accurate. The Elephant still has the chance to make it to the next round if they can get a good result against Curaçao.

The first leg of the world cup was somewhat like a friendly game's as most of the match in the first leg became almost draw or some winning with low goals scores, this situation made the initial teams to seat up and better understand themselves.


From the Moroccan team performance in their second leg of the world cup alot is changing and we can clearly see the difference in this morocco game this weekend.

All African countries should be supporting Morocco because they’re the only hope that we have in this World Cup, they’re a very strong team, the game against Brazil shows how strong and motivated that they’re, they have a very good squad, the game against Scotland looked more like a different game entirely, it wasn’t like the Brazil game, I feel they’re going to be a strong contender to win the World Cup, I can’t put my hopes on Senegal or Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, to lead African in the World Cup, instead I’m more interested in what Morocco are going to do in this World Cup, last World Cup they were able to get to the Semi-Finals this time I believe they can get to the Finals because they’ve a proper and serious team.

As far as I know Morocco is the frontrunner as an African country in the 2026 FIFA World Cup because this team stopped a team like Brazil in their opening match of this World Cup and they later won against Scotland. Morocco is gradually getting stronger because we saw that they were the first African country to reach the semi-finals in the previous World Cup and finished fourth, so we can easily assume that they are a strong contender in this World Cup. We can already see that Morocco and Brazil have equal points and Morocco's next match is against Haiti,If the African team wins against this team, they might easily get a chance to play in the knockout round of this World Cup.

I really wanted Ivory Coast to get at least a draw out of that match because they did really well to outplay the German side but they are unlucky to have conceded a late minute goal to lose the entire three points to Germany.

Despite Germany grabbing that three points, I don't actually rate their team that high because their performance didn't impress me that much and I don't also think this type of game they played against Ivory Coast will lead them to win the World Cup because their are teams that have more qualitative players and more goal scorers than the German side.

Now the African countries that still have hope of escaping the group stage includes; Morocco, Columbia, Ghana, and Ivory Coast. We can't say for the likes of Senegal and DR Congo, while South Africa, Algeria, and the rest should start preparing tom come home because I don't they have any chance of surviving in their respective groups.

I watched this game yesterday as Ivory Coast played one of the best performances do far in this competition so far, and they truly deserved to take all three points against Germany. Ivory Coast was too wasteful if you ask me, this was a game that Ivory Coast should have ended by scoring up to three goals especially in the second half. But ivory cost did not make any diducious use of their opportunities. German was more clinical in front of goal and we saw how they did with the few chances that they had.


Germany did not deserve the three points if you ask me but this is football, sometimes it's not about playing well but taking your chance and that is what played out yesterday. Am very sure that the team will be disappointed, I will blame the coach because he brought in Pepe too late it was obvious that the player that Pepe changed was already tired and couldn't run again he kept wasting too many chances that he should have converted before he was changed.

Football fans expected Brazil to win Morocco but since Brazil couldn't live up to expectations and win Morocco, I also don't feel Morocco's result against Brazil is anything near disappointment, Morocco performed really well against Brazil and they deserved the 1-1 draw they got.  Morocco just need one point to qualify for the round of 32, and since their next match is against Haiti that can't hurt a fly, it's certain Morocco is going to qualify for the next round.

Germany snatched the point from Ivory Coast in the last minute.  In the first half Ivory Coast scored first in the 30th minute scored by kessie. 61% possession kept by Germany but they didn't get any goal in the first half,  2 big chances created,  0.62xG by Germany but first half ended on 1-0 to ivory Coast.  In the second half Ivory fought back and try to keep the ball and they managed to get 42% of the  ball , 0.47xG and 5 shots.  On the other hand Germany with 58% possession created 3 big chances,  1.27xG and total of 8 shots.  Undav scored an equalizar in the 68th minute and second one in the dying minute of the second half when everyone thinking that match will end on a draw but then Undav scored 2nd in the 90+4 th minute and Germany won it by 2-1 in the last seconds. And he was named as player of the match.

Morocco have bigger chance qualify for the round of 32 after victory last match from Scotland and holding draw Brazil at the first match, getting 4 points of 2 matches make Morocco pressure Brazil at 1st place have difference goals but last match Morocco face easy team Haiti have been eliminated from World Cup after two losses in a row.

So far only Tunisia as African team have been eliminated from World Cup after two loss in a row and probably will finish at bottom standings Group F, until right now still not any African team qualified to round of 32 and last match Ivory Coast have loss from Germany needed next match to secure round of 32 ticket if get victory from Curacao.

Here is my opinion until now:
Group A: South Africa vs South Korea game result will be a goodbye for SA
Group C: Morocco to proceed
Group E: Ivory Coast to advance too
Group F: Tunisia..to be crowned for their exceptional performance here.
Group G: Egypt. They still have a chance.
Group H: Cape Verde? A random qualification is weak but possible
Group I: Senegal..weak but possible
Grouo J: Algeria, still possible
Group K: DR Congo, still possible
Group L: Ghana.. Weak possibility.

Cape Verde scored in the 21st minute and it seemed they could at least win the first half or, in the worst-case scenario, draw. But to my shock, Cape Verde conceded an equalizer in the 44th minute and a few minutes later conceded a second goal, ending the first half in defeat. It was truly shocking. I don't know what to expect from them in the second half; it seems they could concede even more goals, and the defeat could be humiliating. If they lose this game, I highly doubt they'll advance to the next phase.

They were surely proud and if for any reason Moroccan players felt they were supposed to go better, then it means they not telling themselves the truth. Brazil are one of the favourite teams to win the year's FIFA World Cup but against Morocco, they couldn't control the game. Morocco were obviously the better team in that game and I think they'll go far in the tournament. They reached semi final in the last World Cup,  I think they have all it takes to match that record again.

Why should we do that? I don’t understand this idea that African countries have to support each other in the World Cup. This doesn’t happen anywhere in the world, I don’t see the European or Asian teams supporting each other.  If Spain wins the World Cup, they won it for themselves not the continent. The same with Morocco, if they win the World Cup, the record will show that Morocco not Africa won the World Cup.

This doesn’t happen anywhere in the world, I don’t see the European or Asian teams supporting each other.  If Spain wins the World Cup, they won it for themselves not the continent. I disagree with this, I think there are situations where continental nations unite to actually support probably the only side left in the tournament to win it, yes it doesn’t happen most often with the Europeans or the South Americans because they have won the World Cup multiple times so there is no excitement for the first. But should that particular history be something yet to be achieved by that continent they usually rally their support behind one nation to actually break the curse.

A clear example was when the German national team won the FIFA World Cup in 2014, they were supported by the European nations too while their opponents Argentina were supported by the South Americans and this was because no European nation had won the competition at a south American soil before and since the Host Brazil were South American it was great to see the curse finally broken by the Europeans while South Americans do not want that.

This is the thing with Africans supporting a nation from their continent at the World Cup finals because they want to see the curse finally broken and they don’t care who would break it
