Anybody seen that clip of one particular Tunisian international bombarding and lashing out on their federation for the failures?!

He has said what others couldn't amd I fear he will most likely be dropped for criticising their federation publicly. This is exactly ehat happens to anyone who brings the truth to light. The same happen with Nigerian captain Trust Ekong for coming out to defend the squad in public about their unpaid funds.

The Tunisian has said the federation only appointed a manager four to five months in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Competition which wasn't suppose to be so. He also expressed how the Japanese national team have been preparing for this for the past ten years and the only visible change was a player or two. This should be the way, and if not, they will never win the African cup of Nations this way.

Cape Verde scored in the 21st minute and it seemed they could at least win the first half or, in the worst-case scenario, draw. But to my shock, Cape Verde conceded an equalizer in the 44th minute and a few minutes later conceded a second goal, ending the first half in defeat. It was truly shocking. I don't know what to expect from them in the second half; it seems they could concede even more goals, and the defeat could be humiliating. If they lose this game, I highly doubt they'll advance to the next phase.

I was also expecting Cape Verde Town to win Uruguay in the first half after they took the lead in the first 21 minutes of the match, but I was surprised how Cape Verde Town allowed Uruguay to score two goals under seven minutes to win the first half 2-1. I lost hope that Cape Verde Town would bring the match to level terms in the second half, because I thought Uruguay would score more goals in the second half, however, Cape Verde Town didn't relent they put up a good fight against Uruguay and got an equalizer in the 61st minute, they would have won the match if the referee had blown one out of the two penalties they got in the dying minutes of the match.

Why should we do that? I don’t understand this idea that African countries have to support each other in the World Cup. This doesn’t happen anywhere in the world, I don’t see the European or Asian teams supporting each other.  If Spain wins the World Cup, they won it for themselves not the continent. The same with Morocco, if they win the World Cup, the record will show that Morocco not Africa won the World Cup.

Well, I believe that this mindset comes from a place of feeling less of themselves. Africans realise that European countries have better potentials to win the World Cup individually because they receive the best support from their countries and the best players from all parts of the World.

So it is more like a win for all when an African team wins the World Cup, that shows a certain degree of unity and love within the African nation. Morocco, Ivory Coast and Senegal are the most likely to compete in this World Cup and it would be lovely to see that they support each other.

I was completely ashamed of ivory coast watching how they threw out a clear opportunity to win Germany even when they were playing really well throughout their first and second half. forget about the eventual outcome of the game, ivory coast played very well and deserved the win but i cant tell if it is just an issue of bad mentality or that they don't know what winning that game would have done for them. unfortunately, they threw away a clear chance of making a statement in the world cup and have handed an automatic qualification to Germany. at least from what they played we are sure they are in for a good game in their coming fixture but that will be if they will not throw out their chance

Europeans use to support themselves and even if they're not from the same country but there name as the continent that win the cup will still be mentioned so actually it mustn't be our country with the trophy before we can truly be happy about it but however another country from your continent is also part of you. I understand your point but what you should understand is that no African nation has ever won the World Cup and when they talk about continents that has won the World Cup Africa won’t be mentioned, supporting an Africa country to lift the World Cup is a good one, European countries may not support themselves because many countries in Europe has won the World Cup before so it is not something new to them. The World Cup in Europe is something different countries have been lifting, but to us Africans if any nation from Africa should lift the World Cup it will open doors for more African countries to do it, players will say if this African country can do it they can also do it so I don’t see anything wrong in Africa countries supporting the other African country.
Do you know that Morocco reaching the semifinals in 2022 world cup remains Africa’s best-ever performance at the tournament.

I understand the aspects two of you are coming from, but when we look at the last comment made here, you will discover that this is not about those that were qualified or those that will eventually win, but taking Nigeria as an example, since the super eagle couldn't qualify for the world cup, at least we still have some average Nigerians that are supporting other countries, we can see it in place of Mexico, just to mention a single particular one that is more obvious, but I wouldn't support if the intention is to only support African countries when we know that we can as well support any well performing nation in the world cup until they get to the final.

Germany is not an easy-go team, they started on a good note by winning their last match, and they played very well, showing their skills and enthusiasm for the World Cup. The African teams are really doing much better than their first leg, as their first leg can not really be compared to the second leg they have played so far. Maybe we could say it could be a result of the fatigue and the stress they went through while entering the US. But some of the African teams perform better than most of the white teams, as is evident in their performances.

If we are to take that out,  generally,  Germany is a team that most African countries does find challenging and this is not even the first time, the kind of players they possess and their way of playing is one that most African team find difficult to cope with. They are fast with precision and most African teams do not have goo tackling abilities enough to face teams like Germany.

The time Germany wasn't an easy team or country to handle has passed, now they are trying to get back to the Germany we used to know, and I believe a lot of countries can beat Germany right now. As for the Germany vs Ivory Coast match, I blame Ivory coast for their loss against Germany because they had a lot of clear opportunities they would have used to increase their lead to 3-0 but they weren't clinical and Ivory Coast leaving their defense porous in the second half made it easy for Germany to come from behind and win the match 2-1.

I didn't see the video, but being African and knowing how African football, fragile democracy, and freedom of expression work, I'm sure that if this player criticized the Tunisian football federation, he will receive severe punishment. I highly doubt that the Argentinian football federation will let this case of public complaint go unpunished and that they would apologize and correct the errors he pointed out.

Instead, they will ban him from the national team forever and also sabotage his career in other teams. In short, the Tunisian football federation will destroy his professional career. Here in my country, all the football and basketball players who complained about the federations were professionally destroyed. It's a shame how we Africans don't like criticism.

You are right. That's why Morocco lost their trust from the rest of African countries. What even made them feel that they will become better if they join Europe. Another one was in 2022 world when they got to the semi final where one the Morocco player said this progress to the semi final is for the Arab. So him not mentioning Africa shows that they don't need our support. I rather support Ghana (my jollof rival) than to support Morocco.

African teams have quite been impressive in the ongoing FIFA World Cup and I think it's time we do a little evaluation of their performances and predict what will be their possible positions after the final group games. Morocco, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Egypt has all been able to get a win so far while Cape Verde hasn't lost a game. These 5 out of the 10 teams representing Africa all stand a very good chance of reaching the next stage of the tournament.

You really think American fans will be supporting Mexico to win the World Cup just because they are in the same continent?? I have seen English pundits say they are rooting for Argentina to win the World Cup, this is why I don’t agree to your theory that fans mostly support nations from their continent when their home team is out of the tournament.

I didn't see any of that or come across it online but I'm sure it's a way of saying thank you for supporting us and we acknowledge your efforts. There's this feeling when someone feels accepted in an environment that's not his own, when this issue of South Africa, chasing and killing their fellow black it was something that worried all of us in the continent, I mean we the black skinned people and in solidarity we decided to support any team that's playing against South Africa, not that we hate them but because of the pain they are causing us fellow blacks from the same continent.

It will be really disappointing for Ivory coast to lose that game after the efforts and positive qualities they shown in that game. They prove that they can challenge a country like Germany but football is not only about playing well but managing important moments and also finishing the job. A match against Germany is an opportunity for Ivory coast to make a big statement which I believe they tried doing but small mistakes and the inability to convert chances created can completely change the outcome of a game. But this might serve as a boost to Ivory coast confidence moving forward because it shows they can compete in the highest level but they need to also learn from this experience and make the necessary changes but success in a tournament like this is about the mentality and ability to take advantage of opportunities when they arrive.

Germany is in very strong form in this World Cup, but we noticed that they did not get past the group stage in the previous two World Cups. However you are right that Germany has won the World Cup four times before and they have already won two back-to-back matches in this World Cup, so it's true that it will be much more difficult for any African team to win against Germany, as proof of that, we noticed that Germany faced off against the African team Ivory Coast and they showed their dominance against this African team, winning the match 2-1. At the moment, it is true that the form of each player in the German team makes us all believe that they are worthy contenders to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.
