I think the Ivorian coach made a poor coaching decision to keep Amad on the bench because he had a great influence on the game and would have done more for the Ivory Coast team if he had started in the game. A player like Amad, who plays in the Premier League and is exposed to playing with European players, should be a top player in any team playing in the first eleven if he is fit for a game. That was a poor coaching decision that the coach will regret because if he had started early in the game, it is very possible that they would have put up a better fight and maybe won the game.

I suppose he was expecting the same magic he got off him against Ecuador. He forgot, this was Norway and not Ecuador. Amad did manage to get him a goal though, running into the box, setting his ball with just two touches and finding the net but, that wasn’t enough as Haaland was able to come up with one of the easiest goal of the tournament, just a touch in and that was enough to see them through.
Amad nearly got a second goal from the free kick but, the goalkeeper’s hands was quick to the save. Ivory Coast is out.

Dr Congo will face England,

The best approach I feel for DR Congo is for them to be very defensive in their approach because that is the strength they have as a team. Their best chance is to frustrate the English team to the extent that they are able to get an opportunity for them to score a goal because if they come out to play attacking football against the English side, they are not as good as England, and they would leave a lot of spaces behind that England can explore with their very fast and intelligent attacking players. I expect a very defensive game from the DR Congo to stress the English side probably into extra time.

Senegal has also not been very impressive in this World Cup, I don't want them out yet.

Of the many teams, the teams from European countries have improved over time, this is a very good improvement but if you expect to win, of course, it is something that is difficult to see, however, Europe is still very dominant with its talent even though many of the European countries have decreased but there are still many who continue to produce good players.
 
If we talk about the next world cup and Africa focuses on soccer by building a lot of special education that is more serious, it will definitely bring soccer in Africa, even players in big European clubs will definitely take it from there if they can do it.

Not nightmare but night dream bro, and I agree, nothing is impossible to happen but i don't think it's currently possible for any African country to win the world Cup, maybe among the african countries playing in the world Cup currently, morocco has the best chance and quality to win the Cup, but the question is..

Can Morocco defeat France if both play in the finals? Realistically, I believe you know the answer, and it's a "No'.
Can Morocco defeat Argentina if both teams meet in the finals? Again the answer is "No", so as long as both France and Argentina are still in the world Cup, it's very hard for any African country to win the Cup.
This is my honest take, I am not being pessimistic or negative about African countries, I am just being realistic and reason why we should put in more effort in catching and training our players from really young age.

You have just posted what is on my mind. Can Morocco even win Portugal or Argentina? The answer is no. There are many countries in that qualified for the round of 32 in the world cup that are better than Morocco.

South Africa is out, Ivory Coast is out. Let us see what will happen today in England versus Democratic Republic of Congo.

Is it a coincidence? I mean I just saw this thread now Is European soccer on decline? Many big names facing elimination in early rounds and here is you talking almost the same thing. I think it's high time African countries prove themselves that we can not continue to be dominated by the European teams in the global tournament. The major problem we have is mindset when playing with European countries. Africa countries always have that mentality that they can not win against European countries and when they do, they see it as a great achievement.

DR Congo is making the continent proud again like joke. What a goal, Cipenga got the target and put the ball behind the net in the 7th minute. England is beginning to mount pressure but Aaron Wanbisaka and Tuanzebe is the rock behind. If Congo goes past England, it will be a huge history after being absent from world cup for over 50 years, their qualification process and dramatic displacement of the super eagles to find their place to the world cup after beating Jamaica.

The team has done enough work that I wish they could hold the pace. Wissa missed the chance to put them two goals ahead and I think it's going to be a very tough second half. England has 3 shots on target already against 1 of 1 of DR Congo. This is world cup and it's right to say that no team is small. Morocco is waiting as the only African team to have qualified for the next round, I hope Congo joins them tonight. Let's see the next half.

This is exactly what the DR Congo team has been doing, they've been very tactical in defending the goal they've scored, their goal keeper has been impressive with he's saves, because if not for him, this first half result wouldn't be 1-0. We don't know what the second half will hold but if it continues like this, there is a likelihood that DR Congo would like win this game but let's just keep our fingers crossed because we don't know what the rest of the game would look like.

DR Congo has unsurprisingly left the tournament, conceding two goals from Kane to overturn their lead. I am not very happy with this result because they really put up a good fight but I feel that the failure of Wissa to put them 2 goals ahead became their biggest weakness. DR Congo played a good football but I must say that England came with an extreme pressure and dissolved the defence. Kane is back to the score sheet with a brace and DR Congo is off the tournament.

In terms of Senegal and their performance so far, sincerely they've not been impressive with their outing, they are the African champion so lot of us where hoping that regardless of anything, they would have been winning their games with ease, but you see them struggling to even qualify to the next round, they qualified being among the best losers teams, this is not what we are expecting, but then football being what it is, it could be that hence the competition is advancing they can also improve and show their true quality.

The only complete team you can bank on in Africa is Morocco, they're the only team that can face any giant in this world cup with the hope of making a difference. I think we may end up loosing all the remaining teams in this round. But I am looking forward to seeing Egypt beat Australia and progress. Senegal is not organised at this moment and I don't see them withstanding the likes of Lukaku and Debryune tonight. With 9 teams out of the group stages, at least 3 is supposed to proceed to the round of 16 but who would play the game. Cape Verde will be extremely defensive against Argentina, but even a 5.4.1 may not save them from Messi.

This world cup is a perfect example of how the whole of football have transformed so much for the African continent, I mean they have all been on their performance and am sure maybe two more might qualify with morroco to the next round and if that happens it will definitely be something because no one actually gave the chance to be performing this good. One team am rooting for them qualify is the finalists of the afcon last time which is Senegal, they have the zeal and the spirit to knock out Belgium because Belgium themselves having been so good in this competition.

Africa lost another country in the World Cup today. DR Congo was one country I predicted would get to the quarterfinals because they have a good team. They defeated Nigeria convincingly in the playoff and were impressive in the Group stage. But they lost to England today, and it was a painful one. They scored first and held that goal for over seventy minutes. The pressure on the defense got too much that they conceded two goals and lost the match. 

I celebrate the Leopards of DRC because they left the competition as brave fighters who gave one of the best teams a big fight.

Sincerely am impressed with African teams, most of them came out with their A game and proved that it’s not going to be business as usual, see how big teams like Netherland, Germany etc are eliminated from the World Cup yet some African teams are still pulling strong. African players has gotten the opportunity of playing in big leagues round the world and it has really boosted their energy and have improve their confidence and game play, with the way this World Cup is going even if an African team doesn’t win they will definitely get to at least probably semifinals before being eliminated, am really enjoying this World Cup because it’s really competitive, no one knows what to expect.

That early minutes goal was a big threat to England because it came in surprisingly that Dr Congo getting a goal ahead of the three Lions of England that are with a much decorated squad that's twice better in quality than the Congos.

Despite England come around to win with a two goals from Harry kane I still give some bit of respect to the African side, they didn't just go into the game with a bowhead but they had it all high and played England like they should but it's unfortunate they don't have such good goal machine as Kane.  The Dr Congo coach also helped in killing the game for his team by not starting Ahmad Dialo, that player was a breathtaker in that game.

In these qualifiers, I only saw the Congo game where they were leading, then tied, and then lost. In the Ivory Coast vs. Norway game, they were losing but managed to tie. When I thought Ivory Coast would at least take the game to penalties, that's when I saw they conceded a second goal. In the case of Congo, it was truly a great disappointment.

they were playing well, scored first, but conceded two goals and lost. England didn't play well and still won because they have very skillful attacking players like Kane; he definitely makes a big difference on the field. If Congo had a guy like Kane, they could have won. Unfortunately, my African continent can't seem to win the World Cup, and it seems that this edition will be the same.

DR Congo actually justified their qualification to the World Cup, they proves to the world that they deserve to be in the World Cup because their performance throughout the tournament was impressive and today’s performance is the best for me. They were completely underrated on paper, no one thought they will have at least a single goal against England, but they made England struggled till the end of the game because they are unlucky because even that second goal wasn’t what everyone expected, but Kane did well to score the winning goal.

Despite their elimination today, I am really proud of them, they made us proud even though they couldn’t make it to the round of 16, but not being eliminated in the groups stage is a good achievement for them.

Exactly, their inability to withstand pressure for long is the main reason most of them got eliminated, but let’s hope and support the rest because I am very sure like two or three will make it to the round of 16.

The World Cup this year is different from the previous years which we have been experiencing, African countries are performing better in this World Cup, they are giving European countries difficult time in matches. Some African countries have been eliminated already in the round of 32 but those matches were not just easy for their opponents. Mostly we do see African countries being eliminated in the group stage, but this year 9 African countries qualified for the round of 32 which is a sign of improvement.

I do not like the way African teams are being knocked out of the world cup in the round of 32, it could send a wrong message that African teams were lucky to get to this stage because 9 out of 10 African teams that qualified to the round of 32, 3 teams has been knocked out while one team managed to reach the next stage of the world cup, which is Morocco. Senegal gave us hope they would win Belgium and join Morocco in the next stage but they ruined the hope in allowing Belgium get back on the game. If Belgium should win them in additional time or on penalties i will not be sad because they gave room for that to happen.
