I am tired 😩, more African countries are losing in the round of 32. Will it be only Morocco that will qualify for the round of 16? Switzerland scored 2 goals when played with Algeria, the two goals were scored during first half. Algeria has been knocked out of the world cup, it is highly disappointing.

This is really not what we expected after seeing 9 teams from the African sides qualifying for the knockout stage of the game, I thought we be able to make it further than where most of this teams are getting eliminated in. Egypt, Cape Verde and Ghana are the only teams left to know how many African teams will make it to the round of 16 together with Morocco. Morocco strength is one of a kind and I know that even in the next round, they have an upper chance of making it to the next round of the competition. Egypt have scored an early goal in their game but they’ve conceded a goal, an own goal to push the match to the extra time. Waiting to see if their faith will be decided there or they’ll make it further to the round of 16.

This is the game of football and anything can happen, our expectations are not that cut short because we are not the only continent that came for this competition, if you want to look at it critical, a lot of Asian countries have left even before this round of 32, but still we still still have African countries that have progressed to the round of 16, Egypt just delivered their pulling unit this night, Morocco have done theirs previously, so let's wait and see what's Cape Verde and Ghana will pan out to be. There's no doubt that it is good for us to self reflect on some of the games the African teams have played, for some we did not do bad as we played our best and even had some domination especially in this round of 32 but unfortunately there are some things that I have noticed, some teams cannot maintain a certain momentum from the beginning to the end and that is one thing the African teams needs to fix.

That will be a difficult match for Ghana but is football anything can be possible in the match but everyone don’t get the believe that Ghana can get the opportunity to eliminate Colombia in the World Cup this summer. I can even says this will be the last game of Ghana in the competition because the way Colombia are performing in the competition I don’t really sure that Ghana can do better then them in the competition. Let see who can get the opportunity in the match or Ghana can perform much better and surprise the fans in there last games, because all there matches they win is all about luck and playing a defensive game.

I really got surprised at the rate at which African nations dropped out of the round of 32. I think they need to learn a thing or two about game management. It's not always about power and strength. Sometimes it's about stamina, endurance and positive mentality. You can't start the game so well for the first 70-80 minutes and then lose everything with just 10 minutes to the end of the game.

Cape Verde is facing Argentina in the next few minutes, and not many give it a chance. I hope they pull off some surprising display.

Egypt did very well against Australia. Bookies were favouring them and they didn't fail. Morocco already booked their ticket the same way.
Right now, Cape Verde is annoying Argentina so much. The legal time finished previously 1 - 1. Both teams had to play extra time. The first half of the extra time was quite surprising with Argentina scoring then Cape Verde getting the draw. Much respect to this team and it will be a shock if they can kick Argentina. Until now I can say they did their best in the World Cup.

This world cup tournament has been fun all through with several surprises, cape Verde almost gave football a new story to tell. What I didn't like was deciding the game through an own goal on the 111th minute. This is a team that was written off from the beginning of the tournament but they managed to secure draws in all their group games and went as far as holding Argentina to draw after 90 minutes and almost lingered to penalty shootout. This is very impressive, their keeper has been so brave and carrying the team all through. I guess they will be going home gladly with their heads high.

Egypt succeeded in beating Australia by penalty shootout after taking the lead until the Hany's own goal. Egypt kept a good play and thanks goodness they we're able to qualify, because even though the own goal was almost unavoidable due to the pressure from the Australian side, the team later had something to go with and Africa has the second team going into the next round.

This world cup tournament has been fun all through with several surprises, cape Verde almost gave football a new story to tell. What I didn't like was deciding the game through an own goal on the 111th minute.

You really have a point, the deflection by the Cape Verde player was through the hand after Cristian Romero nodded the ball, it was the hand of the Cape Verde player that scored the goal. It was not deliberate and did not lead to a penalty.

Wow! your prediction was spot on, nice. Egypt and Morocco have indeed reached the round of 16 after which they'll be heading to the quarter finals; I wonder if they can really pull it of to the quarter finals as you initially predicted, I hope they do. So far so good, Morocco has been really impressive, same with Egypt.

Honestly, this is where the real struggle begins, especially for Egypt. They'll be playing Argentina in the round of 16, and if the successful qualify, they'll be facing either Switzerland or Colombia. As for Morocco, they'll be facing Canada in this upcoming round of 16, and either France or Paraguay in the next.

It will really be a slippery slope for them going forward. Well I wish them all the best.

I know that Argentina would definitely find a way to advance to the next level, and that is exactly what happened. But honestly, Cabo Verde played far beyond my expectations in this match. At first, I wasn't convinced that Cabo Verde were this strong. Even after they drew against Spain, I thought they were just lucky enough to get the draw, believing they could only defend. However, after yesterday's match, I believe they are not only good defensively but are generally a very good team.Cabo Verde scored two goals to draw with Argentina in the 90 minutes of the game. What a great performance from Cabo Verde, Even though they were knocked out, they are still among my favorite teams in this World Cup tournament.Yes, if that match had gone to a penalty shootout, it might have been a different story, because, as we know, Cabo Verde might have had the luck to win on penalties.

Cape Verde ended this World Cup with a record of not losing any game in normal game time because they drew against Spain in normal time, drew against Uruguay in normal time, and drew against Saudi Arabia in normal time. They also drew against Argentina in normal time.

They should really be proud of their performance; nobody expected it from them coming into this World Cup. They have been better representatives of African football than South Africa and Ghana combined. They are a team to watch out for.

I think they are a team that can win the World Cup. Their performance has earned the respect of people all over the world. If the opponent had been any other team instead of Argentina, the result would have been different. Deroy Duarte, Sidny Lopes Cabral and defender Diney Borges played very well. However, Cape Verde did not lack effort in this game. Their performance was high class. There is a factor of luck that was in Argentina's favor. But we are and will be on the side of our brothers in West Africa.

Last night I watched a brilliant match by Cape Verde against Argentina; I think it was the best performance by an African team so far. They showed great football, solidarity and a carefree attitude. They deserved more, but in the end Argentina are the stronger side, although they found themselves in real trouble in terms of their play. At least cape Verde gave in the fight untill the last minute and though they conceded and couldn't keep up the momentum till penalty shootout, they've shown the world that they are a footballing nation regardless of Thier population.

The likes of Egypt that have succeeded and Morocco that have succeeded in qualifying into the round of 16 remains the last hope of Africa to getting to the quarter finals and maybe the semi finals if they are able to put up a really good game against Argentina. From what we've seen so far, Argentina might have the name but Egypt doesn't play like an underdog. We surely will anticipate one of the shockest result in the round of 16.

Cape Verde lost the game but they will and forever have a great place in our hearts. It is beautiful to behold that they could go unbeaten at regular time in this tournament.
The first half was only the part I saw and that beautiful pass from Lisandro Martinez to Lionel Messi was well handled and chipped into goal.
The Cape Verde goalkeeper has also been talked about in this tournament too much. Are we going to see big sides approaching him after that game? We now have just Egypt and Morocco as the only African nation representing the continent.

I love their fighting spirit, they weren't intimidated by Argentina or Messi at all. When Messi scored the first goal, i felt it was over cause he might score again but surprisingly Cape Verde found Argentina's net and stood their ground till the final whistle, the goal they conceded during the extra minutes was an own goal which means that if it weren't for that mistake they would've played penalty shootout with Argentina. Who knows, maybe Argentina would've gone home cause Penalty is more of luck and Cape Verde's keeper is good in a one on one. The only African country i can trust on getting to the Semi finals is Morocco, Egypt tried in reach the round of 16 but might not go further.

Even though they lost this game to Argentina by an own goal in the second half of the extra time, I was very proud of them and their performance, because they gave a very good account of themselves, and if not for luck that shine in favour of the Argentine, it would have gone to penalty shootout which is a game that can go either way, so they deserve my respect.

But as for the Ghanaian national team, they deserve to be knocked out because they were totally dominated in their own game, and I believe that their one nil loss to Colombia didn't reflect on the actual performance of both teams, because it should have been up to four or five goals in favour of the Colombian team that showed more desire and intent than the Ghanaian team, which we can all see in the match statistics.
