I slept off, so I didn't watch the match, but with the look of things, I think the match was quite tough for them. For Morocco to hold France to a first half draw shows that the match wasn't what people were expecting. It was around the 60th minute before France scored their first goal, which I wasn't expecting at all, because with the way France players normally apply pressure in competitions, I thought they were going to distroy Morocco in the first half. Anyway, congratulations to France players, they are actually making a lot of effort in this World Cup tournament.

But in the second half, I didn't know what happened to him that made it possible for Mbappe and Dembele to score from the positions they weren't supposed to score from considering the saves he made in the first half, that's how France scored their two goals and won Morocco.

And that is it the African champions have been eliminated by the French side and that is that for Africans in this World Cup, means we won’t have our first African nation to win the World Cup in this edition. Another African team eliminated. I remember when many African teams advanced from the group stage, some people said Europe was weak, and I laughed a lot at that. But as we can see, those people were wrong. Currently, we have 6 European teams, 1 American team, and zero African teams in the World Cup. So which continent ultimately proved to be stronger? It was the European continent. We Africans need to change; we need to start investing seriously in football. We need strong, high-quality leagues. We can't just be content playing in Europe and thinking that this way we will surpass the Europeans.

Morocco really tried, they did the same thing in the last World Cup by advancing to the semi finals if I am not mistaken, and they were able to reach the quarterfinals this time, they are indeed the best team in Africa right now because they are proving themselves even in the AFCON.

However, some African fans are not sad as they were eliminated because the Morocco team are not proud to be Africans, they don’t seek any support from Africans that’s why some of us supported France yesterday. But all in all, France were the better team in the game, they played well more than Morocco and they win.

With the level of success that African teams are recording in the World Cup and how they are progressing each year, players will be interested in playing for countries where they're originally from and not seeking to play for European teams because they have the better opportunity to win the World Cup. It is very clear and evident that in a couple of years Africa as a continent will have a team that wins the World Cup; it may be the Super Eagles if we are able to stay progressive.

Have you all seen the news that Algeria is interested in signing Eric Chelle from the Super Eagles? Do you think there is a chance he will dump the project he has with the Super Eagles for the Algerian team?

I don’t think Africans teams have a chance to win the World Cup, considering how the best players from Africa are choosing to play for European countries, most especially France are taking all the best players from Africa which means that Africa doesn’t have a chance to win the World Cup, Morocco are playing better because there’re players that have been rejected by the French National Team and they’re a good players who chooses to play for Morocco because there is no chance for them in the French National Team, when you think about Africa winning the World Cup is something that I don’t understand where you’re getting your facts and information from that makes you think that Africa is going to win the World Cup.

I am happy as the last African team that was remaining in the world cup has been eliminated by France yesterday, because Morocco sports minister, Mohammed Saad, said that Morocco does not need Africans support in the world cup, now that Morocco has been knocked out, they will return back to Morocco today and there is nothing Morocco sports minister and Moroccans will be bragging about again. France showed Morocco they are not their mate, they did not even give Morocco breathing space in the football pitch; Morocco was finding it difficult to reach France half and they managed to get one shot on goal.

I saw this image on someone's status now but I doubt if any official government representatives would utter such statement. I searched through for the source but I discovered the Morocco has officially debunked that misleading statement attributed to one of its ministers. Yesterday the entire African continent was behind the Atlas Lion. But sadly they lost out to a stroger side. Most African countries did well and we are hoping that we would do better in the next World Cup.

Agreed Morocco were one of the best teams in the World Cup but I didn’t imagine they would win the World Cup. Reaching the quarter finals in itself is a huge achievement imo.

The performance of the goalkeeper in the first half was really amazing. The Moroccan goalkeeper made some great saves from the start, so the first half ended goalless. The goalkeeper saved about eight goals in the entire match. Your question is why the goalkeeper couldn't make the saves in the second half. I would say that the goalkeeper gave his best performance in the entire match. Mbappe and Dembele were able to score goals by hiding themselves in front of the defense. The shots that were scored were not clearly detected by the goalkeeper at the beginning, so the goals were scored by a very small margin. If you look closely, you will see that Dembele's goal was scored by the goalkeeper's hand. It was really unfortunate for them. The goalkeeper made the most saves compared to the entire defense line. The match was great, but if Morocco had attacked more, the match would have been more exciting.

Why do you not have string conviction on your continent    It's really possible though but it would have been with other teams. Like assuming France is match with another team, they may help them win but definitely they can't stand those teams directly same from other side but they can win the league if possible. If not for the fact that they didn't stay and control their game in the second half, hey have a very fair chance of winning that match.

Their encounter with France was poor execution, the attacking style is very bad, like very worse than when they played round of 32 and 16. The enegry they used to win those two matches to the point they reach the quarter final if they do the same here, it would have made them win the match too without over spending too much energy, even their defense was very weak.

This is not just all about African players choosing to play for France or any other country. I think the problem with the Africa teams is the organizational structure of their team and players management. Africa has very talented players who can win the World Cup, but they lack the structures to win it and it all boils down to management. The level of Corruption among African countries football federation won’t allow them win the World Cup, and even if Mbappe decides to represent Cameroon or Senegal today, he won’t still win the World Cup. the moment the management do what is right, you’ll see African teams competing for the World Cup trophy, people are now seeing Morroco competing at the highest stage of football with other European countries and thought they started now, they didn’t just wake up one morning and become a good team, it’s all about the management and structure. They started by investing heavily in their football, they built modern Stadium with modern facilities, hosting numerous African football competitions at all level. Now they are reaping the rewards of having a good structure. Once African teams start getting a good structure and management, providing the players with the necessary and adequate training facilities then they can compete with their counterparts abroad because you can’t compare the quality of facilities the France national team have with any African team.

Couldn't feel more or less sad for Morocco and that is because of the statement made by their prime minister earlier today.

It was quiet unfortunate that after his word which wasn't necessary they got knocked out from the world cup. He let the whole thing get into his head. Africa is one, we support all our brothers, but coming out to say that Morocco is not playing for Africa but for Morocco was to me wrong.

I don't know what to believe again because right now you either get to see fake news spreading more or you hear that an account of a prominent person was hacked after it was used to post an offensive post so many wrong information lately in the media space. I don't want to disagree with the information you provided because it is all over the media but the point is that before now we all know that Morocco has never agreed that they are Africans let's forget the fact that they have been part of the cup of nations but if you have observed the way they do things you will also know that the statement may bot be coming down them directly but the person who posted it knows them very well and what they believe.

This 2026 world has really proven that African football team are really doing great in terms of football. The team that suprise me the most is the Cape Verde, I never imagined that they will qualify the rounds of 32  and also Morocco. This African football team did there best and I believe by next world cup, there maybe more outstanding performance from this Africans team.
As for Morocco winning the world cup , I was never expecting that especially when they were to face France in the quarter finals.

It's simple to know why. The reason is because, they're used to playing together all the time in their clubs and those players have a tight bond with their team in the club level. Also, they understand themselves better in the club than in the national team that they don't play together often.

It's only some few national team that their squad is up to a good club standard. Teams like France, England, Spain and Argentina has all the squad that is even better than most club teams. Only Morroco do play better as a team.

With this statement of yours, you actually nailed it because that's what it is. Nigeria and Ghana have more talented players than Morocco and cape Verde, but due to how poor sport development is in the country, we are still backward, and our inability to qualify for the world cup, even when given a lifeline at the playoff against Dr congo speaks volumes of how backwards we are in that regards, so I totally agree with your sentiment about this.

In my opinion, this is not a problem of the individual quality of the players, but rather a result of the fundamental differences between club football and international football. In addition, due to tactical differences, the quality and role of teammates are different, and due to the lack of time to practice together for a long time, even world-class players often do not achieve the expected results.

I understand what you mean, you will see a top scoring footballer in the club level in Europe but when it comes to the world cup the same player will be having it difficult to perform at the same level. I agree that the reason is that they are used to playing together in their respective clubs while call up for national teams is only when it's necessary and they will come together with their country men to play and go back to their clubs. As far as playing football is concerned their clubs are their homes while their national teams are temporary homes so you cannot expect the same level of understanding their team mates in national teams to understanding their teammates in their clubs.

It looks like you took the Moroccan sport minister irresponsible state to heart, but I don't think you have to do that, because I believe that with such pride coming from the Moroccan camp, down fall will be very close by waiting to happen, so am absolutely not surprised by their elimination from the world cup.

As for the game yesterday, their performance was even more worse than I thought because I initially thought that they were going to compete against this French team, but I was wrong because it was a total dominance from the French national team, and the 2-0 winning doesn't really reflect on how the final result would have been if the French team were more clinical in front of goal.

Yes i took the statement of the Morocco sport minister to heart because it is too much for them, they are acting like Africa cannot do without them, if we do not match Morocco's energy and show them that no-one care about them in Africa, they will not stop thinking they are doing Africa a favour in being African and becoming the only African team to reach the quarter finals in this world cup. I was not surprised with the performance of Morocco against France because i have always known they cannot handle France's pressure, people like you were just carried away with the performance of Morocco and it made you people believe they could wrestle with France and win.
