Bitcoin, is the future of money, and we are enjoying it in our time at cheaper rate. The next generation might not have the fund to buy 1 bitcoin, except you are very rich. But now we still have the chance to buy, so lets take advantage of it. and forget about the future, live a life of today and never worry about the generation to come.

keep buying bitcoin and hold for your children, so they will have bitcoin in their generation, do eat everything today. Holding bitcoin is the only investment one are truly sure of, that in the next  5 years you are sure of your profit times 10x, Just count bitcoin after 10years from it inception in 2009. you will not joke with your bitcoin investment.

Bitcoin was not here with us couple of years back but Bitcoin is here so can it survive decades like normal money?

Not sure though, but I want to believe that so many people must have asked a similar question in 2010 counting upward, and from my calculations, Bitcoin is around 16-17 years, which is less than 5 years from reaching 2 decades, so I believe the question has been answered already. Just so you know, Bitcoin is the present and the future. If it wasn't a key thing, it wouldn't have attracted big companies and investors across the world. And you and I know that the government are always the last to get involved in something that they feel doesn't meet their standards, but guess what, they were left with no choice than to accept Bitcoin, and they are currently holding some for themselves even though some do it through confiscation.

If Bitcoin wasn't a long term thing, I can bet that you wouldn't have seen these massive adoption from institutes and government. I won't be surprised if I come across a similar question in the next few years, but I guess I might still say something similar to say.

Of course it will become more popular in the future and the next generation of young people will be most interested in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency that is currently the most popular digital currency in the world. Before Bitcoin was not there but now it is and will be in the future, Bitcoin is the king of crypto currencies, it will definitely survive. You may understand from such comments that you do not have much faith in Bitcoin, if you are confident in Bitcoin then you will definitely understand that it is going to be a more popular currency for the next generation.
Because the demand for Bitcoin is increasing day by day and its price is changing, the main focus of investors in every country is on Bitcoin. You notice that various big companies are currently investing in Bitcoin to build their reserves, so we understand that Bitcoin will definitely be an expensive currency in the future and it is an asset for the next generation.
It’s true that Bitcoin is very popular right now and has shown great growth but we also have to accept that there is no complete assurance about what the future will bring the market is always changing and new technologies or regulations can shift things in unexpected ways. The demand today may be high but the same can’t be promised forever we’ve seen many assets rise and fall in history and while Bitcoin is strong now there’s always a possibility that something else could take its place or that governments and financial systems may intervene in ways that affect its value. That doesn’t mean Bitcoin will fail but it does mean we should be careful with saying it will definitely survive or always be the king of cryptocurrencies the future is uncertain and it’s better to stay realistic by acknowledging both the opportunities and the risks that come with it. Another thing to think about is how fast the financial world is evolving today people are already experimenting with central bank digital currencies and even private companies are trying to build systems that could rival or even replace Bitcoin in certain use cases if adoption shifts in those directions Bitcoin may not hold the same dominance it does right now.So while the potential is big and it has already proven its strength nothing is guaranteed markets don’t move in a straight line and even the strongest asset can face challenges along the way which is why patience balance and awareness are always important when looking at the long term future of Bitcoin.

Can we know what will happen tomorrow or in a year? Asking about a time period of 15 or 25 years, according to the generational theory of William Strauss and Neil Howe, then the predisposition to survival is great. Why do you, OP, doubt it? But talking about two years of Bitcoin's existence clearly shows that you should study the history of Bitcoin more deeply, and then you will not have such questions.

I do think that most of such questions can be answered with better analysis and digging deep enough.

Sure, people on the Forum and other places may help to find refined answers themselves, but - the best teacher is to do it yourself, especially in a topic like that.. It will help in the future too.

This means Bitcoin is still very young. As you can see, Bitcoin has grown rapidly in recent years and has become a popular asset among both retail and institutional investors. While no one can guarantee that Bitcoin will survive for decades like fiat money, considering institutional adoption, infrastructure developments such as the launch of spot Bitcoin ETF, and increasing adoption as a hedge against economic and geopolitical uncertainty, I believe Bitcoin's future is very bright and will likely continue to thrive due to its increasing level of development.

Bitcoin has been through challenges after challenges, proving its quality as the most sought after asset by investors. If we look at Bitcoin ownership by several large countries and companies such as MicroStrategy and several other large companies until 2025, of course you can draw conclusions about where Bitcoin will go in the future.

I would rather ask for how long BTC would not be as accepted as fiat in terms of being used for all kinds of stuff, because, clearly: BTC is the one thing that is going to push through anything, because its values are set in stone and demand for it only grows with time.

It has been around a lot more than a "couple" of years.  And fiat money continually implodes over time, so one would say that "normal" money doesn't survive decades.  For example the dollar (and most fiat does worse) has lost half its purchasing power aka value in 30 years.  Same with the Euro.  And around ~98-99% since the Fed was created.  Many fiat currencies have done much worse and blown up by 100s or 1000s or much more percentages of inflation over time.  Look at Germany multiple times between 90-120 years ago, the USSR, China Argentina, Zimbabwe, Venezuela etc.   Anywhere you have a fiat based monetary system the temptation is to impose a non-free economic system - socialism, communism etc - which inevitably leads to economic destruction and the loss of economic and other freedoms.  A non-fiat based system provides some protection against it.

Now if you mean "normal money" like gold or silver that lasted thousands of years without the need to have someone pretend to "guarantee" the value, that is a different question.

Depends on regulation set by government.

Since if it happens that more country will impose banning the usage and trading of Bitcoin maybe this coin will collapsed.

But if the situation gain good traction and we saw lots of adoption came also more Bitcoin strategic reserve creation will happen to a lot more institution and nation then provably that with this situation we can expect that Bitcoin can survive in next generation.

Although everything is no guarantee but current happening will play huge role about what possibly going to happen in future.

The lesson is that any government that attempts to ban bitcoin wants to impose some form of totalitarianism on their populace.  Just as any country that ends any type of hard money wants something similar and to be able to steal value from everyone and siphon it into their pockets via inflation.  Look at the loss of liberty in the world since the world moved from a gold or silver based system to fiat.  Bitcoin is another form of very hard money and it interferes with the statist's plans of world domination.  Bitcoin is the new canary in the coal mine for those who don't value freedom.

I want to say that I am still surprised that Bitcoin is alive and developing and its price is rising, because when this cryptocurrency first appeared, I was sure that the state would recognize it as an absolute threat to the economic balance and would try to destroy it as quickly as possible.
But the whole absurdity of the situation is that the state was so frivolous about Bitcoin, thinking that it was just another freakish hobby of IT specialists, that in the end it completely missed the initial stage of Bitcoin’s development.

I  think that most politicians did not deliberately try to sink bitcoin, but rather used it in their corruption schemes so that illegally obtained money could be hidden in a way that no one could find. And it is quite possible that it was actually them who supported development of bitcoin in order to increase their wealth.

While technology and the internet are still running normally and are used by all humans, I think Bitcoin is still there and continues to be used by the community, even though you are no longer in this world.

Bitcoin is not like a car that has to use a driver to drive, bitcoin like a fire in an electric cable, the current will continue to flow until there is no end and without limits Time, so you don't need to fret and be anxious for Bitcoin, you have to pray for yourself long life so you can see Bitcoin's journey until the last point, who knows when.

Bitcoin was not here with us couple of years back but Bitcoin is here so can it survive decades like normal money?
Looking at Bitcoin's year-over-year growth, it's certain that it will remain viable for decades to come. Even considering the halving that occurs every four years, Bitcoin will run out of mines by 2140. We know that with each halving, Bitcoin continues to rise, even becoming a scarce asset. So, in terms of the future, Bitcoin is the answer to a long-term asset because it has long-term fundamentals.

Even if the government were to ban it, it wouldn't be able to. Even now, several countries are considering making Bitcoin a national reserve. With such growth, it's very difficult to say that Bitcoin isn't a long-term asset. Considering Bitcoin's characteristics and systems, it's highly likely that it will survive for decades to come. It's better to focus on buying Bitcoin rather than dwelling on such things. Even if you feel like you're late in buying Bitcoin, don't regret it. It's better to be late than never, realizing that Bitcoin will be a scarce asset in the coming decades.

16 years are enough for Bitcoin to be tested, attacked, challenged and it has proven its good technology, decentralization and its strong survivalability over years. Your question is whether Bitcoin will survive in coming years and decades, my answer is "Yes, it will survive and become stronger over time."
I am confident that Bitcoin will survive, but developers must also be more aware of future threats that constantly attack Bitcoin. Although no one has been able to do so yet, intelligence and technology always make the impossible possible. The point is don't get complacent just because it is strong, so that the community and developers continue their innovation. Because this is about the future, the threat that must always be watched out for is quantum computing.

Bitcoin was not here with us couple of years back but Bitcoin is here so can it survive decades like normal money?
I don't consider 16 years as a couple of years back. Bitcoin Genesis Block was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto on 9 January 2009 and it has been nearly 16 years since then, which is a quite long time.

16 years are enough for Bitcoin to be tested, attacked, challenged and it has proven its good technology, decentralization and its strong survivalability over years. Your question is whether Bitcoin will survive in coming years and decades, my answer is "Yes, it will survive and become stronger over time."

Bitcoin pioneered a new industry which has changed the world and its adoption rate beats Internet adoption rate very impressively.

Bitcoin adoption S-curve.

Bitcoin is not some new thing that just popped up a few years ago it is been around 16 years now in that time it is been attacked doubted criticized and tested in every way possible yet it is still here stronger than ever that kind of track record shows it is not going anywhere anytime soon if it is survived this long there is a good chance it all keep surviving and growing for decades to come.

Most of us have been here even before bitcoin became a thing of relevance to the world, from it start to the present, it's safe to say that we are relatively at the early days of bitcoin and can only talk about how far next decade will look like after bitcoin has stayed for a relatively long period of time. Within the next ten years, literally the major part of current bitcoin enthusiast will likely still be in the bitcoin ecosystem and that will continue to give bitcoin it relevance even till then.

Even though those born in the gen Z period and the millennials are the active holders of bitcoin, the current younger generation are even more tech savvy than the older ones which gives them more room to even be a part of bitcoin adoption than others. If it's with the next generation, bitcoin is still in a safe hands.

No doubt the Gen Z and the millennials as you mentioned, have been the most to adopt Bitcoin because they understand recent technology and knows the value of adopting it. So literally the younger ones coming up should do better because they are growing in a world where there is money online. Through content, and buying of digital assets. And yea, nothing feels new or strange to them unlike some Gen Z and millennials who till date will never accept Bitcoin. For the next generation, Bitcoin wont only survive or exist it will be the basis to which financial freedom will be built on.

BTC will adapt to any threat presented to it, imo, because these threats are more like a boogie man tale than actually something that would bring BTC down.

Time will make everything right.

Bitcoin has only been around for a little more than a decade, and during that time it has proven its strength and resilience against many challenges, the question now is if it can continue to survive for decades ahead like normal money, and the simple truth is that everything will depend on demand. If demand for bitcoin continues to grow as people use it for savings, payments, and as a store of value then it will survive and even thrive, just like gold survived for thousands of years because people demanded it as a store of value, bitcoin can also keep its place as long as the demand is there.

If demand falls, then the value and relevance of bitcoin will also fall, because bitcoin does not rely on governments or institutions to give it power, its entire strength comes from people’s belief, usage, and willingness to trade or hold it, this is why adoption, trust, and demand are the key factors for its survival.

It will definitely not end in our lifetime, in my opinion, but we will be there for so many rallies and new branches of adoption / evolution for BTC, that's the best thing about it: to watch it change ever so slightly and how people and the world sees / uses it.
