Employees will prefer to stay if the work environment is not toxic and the owner is someone who cares about their welfare, not just profits. Sometimes, some employees choose to stay even though their boss never provides benefits, citing the difficulty of finding work. In today's economy, people choose to stay for two reasons: not seeing other opportunities or having a boss who doesn't see employees as mere money-making machines. To retain employees, I agree that an owner must have the attitude of a leader rather than a dictator. But on the other hand, you also need to be firm and disciplined. Being too friendly with employees can make them see you as a peer and lose respect, especially when you're still building your business. I believe the balance between being a good boss and being a firm and disciplined boss is key to maintaining employee loyalty while still maintaining their respect.

Give them some performance related pay that is linked to the growth of the firm.  If its a fast startup they should not want to leave while believing in the product.
   Ideally employees are motivated to do far more then just carry out a task but want to see any losses avoided as its their pay going down the drain if that continues.
A performance related pay includes promptness in payment and also paying according to how much work they put in instead of underpaying your staffs because this is one of the things that brings down lots of firms over a long period of time. Like you said, most people would want to work as twice as hard to avoid anything that would make them short paid, it is important to recognise such workers that are putting in a lot of work, giving them a bonus would also be encouraging. These are things that makes a company or firm grow.

Well,paying them might not be the only way to retain good employees, there is also manner of approach as well, if you are a rude boss  it does not matter if you pay well and promptly those that work for for you genuinely would stop working for you. it's not all about the money, if you don't showcase a good character towards your employees they will definitely go to where they are valued, what I'm saying is out of experience. people always go to where they are valued and respected, the money is important but that's not everything


You're right. The pay alone does not guarantee the retention of good and valuable employees. Some people work for the love of the job and not necessarily for the monetary aspect of it. There are some high school teachers that can be much more if they wanted to but are content and happy with grooming young minds despite not being paid that much.
You've got to respect your employees as they're humans too and are literally the ones growing your business for you. Making the working environment very conducive for everyone is a plus. Treat your employees very well, make them love the job and watch them fight and beat the odds to grow your business for you.

Things that are actually basic and should be easy to do. They work because they need money to make ends meet, so the right thing to do is to pay them on time, I agree with you.

Even though we are company or business owners, it doesn't mean we can treat them as we please. In other words, we should provide for their welfare according to what we can afford. We also have to be professional, for example when we have problems outside of work, don't make employees the target to vent our problems. Also, we must differentiate between working hours and when we are outside working hours.

I pretty much agree with that. You can be cruel and rude if you live in a dictatorship and you are the dictator, but otherwise it doesn't work, especially in the democratic societies. So, again, treat your employees with respect and pay them well, and maybe make Friday a short day, something like that.

In a good working environment you just need to maintain a good relationship between you and your workers, reward a good worker and encourage them to put in effort to ensure they promote the company to ensure they do not break down when they are working for the company. Paying your workers well will put them in a position where you wik nut need to force them to work well for the company, you don't need to be around to monitor them just do your good work and they will not put the company on shortage.

If asked when an entrepreneur should hire, the answer is how much they need workers to support the business and perhaps this can be answered based on need. A good entrepreneur will treat their employees as human beings so that employees feel valued and provide them with a decent salary as a token of appreciation for their work. Each employee typically has different qualifications regarding the salary they receive. When employees feel comfortable working, the results can be much better because they are also a crucial factor in the success of our business. Without good care for them, the business may stagnate because employees don't serve customers well and they will move on to other businesses.

I agree with you. To ensure employee retention in your company or business don't make a high salary the primary factor. While a high salary is certainly influential it shouldn't be the primary factor. The key to maintaining employee retention is a combination of a sense of appreciation, opportunities for growth within the business, a positive work environment and a work life balance.

Furthermore, providing appreciation and recognition from you as the boss is also crucial. You must acknowledge the contributions your employees have made to your business. Positive appreciation can be expressed in person through chat, or during meetings, as this will make your employees feel valued for their work. Appreciation doesn't have to be elaborate simple words like thank you or you're doing a great job can have a significant impact on employee enthusiasm.

Yeah. I agree, but I think in practice its a lot more complicated than it looks on paper.  We all like to say that "people are the most important thing", but honestly, how many times have you worked in a company where those phrases about respect and environment were actually implemented?

My experience is that it doesnt matter if you are making the most money, as soon as your boss doesnt treat you like a human being (and better yet if you are in a toxic environment), all of that "commitment" to that organization will go out the window.  On the other hand, I have also worked for companies that paid an average salary but had a camaraderie within the entire team that allowed us to accomplish more than many large corporations.  So there really are not any rules it all depends on each situation and on each person

Yes you are right also but I believe providing other benefits and compensations for employees apart from monthly salary, goes a long way. With my understanding, I know there are some organizations that make their employees work overtime and even extra days and they are not being compensated for it, which is bad. So I believe this other benefit and compensations boost employees to be more productive, willing to work, remain focused and dedicated.
Those kind of companies and businesses needed to be reported so that they know the labor laws of their countries.

But I think in the part of agreement by employee-employer, it has to be talked. If both agreed that they'll get on a duty during some extra days because of how many customers are there.

It can be agreed upon. Although not being compensated is a violation not only to the law but also to the employee.
You know most companies include it in their employment letters, so employees will be aware that they will get extra payments or benefits when they work overtime and extra days but some companies don’t include that in their employment letter because they feel it part of the employees job to work extra without any compensation.

That is absolutely true. We know as employees if we're being valued and we're giving the company a favor. And we know how to take care of the job that's entrusted to us why we are hired. But, if we're no longer aligned with the values first by the company, next by the bosses and lastly by the coworkers. We're the ones to voluntarily resign and as well as if we're not being valued well. Majority of the companies mistake is they're only giving a raise when an employee is about to leave them and they didn't evaluated their performance.

I would like to ask a personal question about when an entrepreneur should look for employees. What is the right way to retain them and keep them interested in your company? I appreciate creative and abstract ideas.
First and foremost you need to treat them nicely, pay them on time , most employers alway delay payment, such conduct may not be conducive for most employees and to retained them may be difficult,appreciate their works , if they add value to the company make sure you let them know and appreciate them , make the working environment peaceful for them with such , it will  be easy to retain them ,your workers are also human , respect them too , some employers are too rude , whereby they neglect their worker even  when they have a lot to offer to the company, lower your eagle , creat a calm and peaceful atmosphere for your worker , this things also contribute to what can interest them to still stay and work with the company .
