I would like to ask a personal question about when an entrepreneur should look for employees. What is the right way to retain them and keep them interested in your company? I appreciate creative and abstract ideas.
First of all one of the major reasons people are interested in a company is because of the pay and other reasons like the vision of the company and policies. So as an entrepreneur if your pay isn't quite as catchy as what people would consider fair especially in the competitive market then you have to leverage on the vision of your company, how you interact with your employees, the policy of the company as regards employees. Another things is being smart, one of the reasons people wouldn't want to leave you as a person or your company is how smart, creative and ambitious you are towards the vision of your company. You have to believe in yourself first before anyone will.

Hey! I think a business owner should start looking for employees when the workload grows and they can’t handle everything on their own anymore. You can keep employees by offering a good salary—better than competitors—or by making the job enjoyable so people actually want to come to work every morning.
A friendly, positive team atmosphere also helps a lot and can make people stay longer in the company. It might also be a good idea to organize some sports activities on weekends so employees can get to know each other better.
A lot depends on what exactly the company does—then the answer could be more detailed with specific ideas. Since you didn’t mention your field, my answer is short, just like your question.

In the company where I worked for the last time many years ago, the management thought it was a good idea to survey the employees about their satisfaction with the company. They conducted a pseudo-anonymous survey, asking the employees if they were satisfied with their salaries, their supervisors, their meals, and their work schedules. However, everyone was afraid to answer the questions honestly because the management knew each employee's IP address. There was no anonymity. So as an entrepreneur if your pay isn't quite as catchy as what people would consider fair especially in the competitive market then you have to leverage on the vision of your company, how you interact with your employees, the policy of the company as regards employees. Another things is being smart, one of the reasons people wouldn't want to leave you as a person or your company is how smart, creative and ambitious you are towards the vision of your company. You have to believe in yourself first before anyone will. Salary and creating a comfortable work environment are the main foundations for employee retention. There are other factors that contribute to employee retention, such as open communication, recognition for their achievements and as you mentioned above a company vision and fairness for all employees. But fundamentally, employees will leave if they feel underpaid. So add benefits like health insurance, transportation/meal allowances, performance bonuses and in my country THR (holiday allowance) is also a good idea. In today's world additional benefits are crucial especially in an economy like the current one which is constantly being hit by inflation. Furthermore, work impacts employees' daily lives, so creating a positive and comfortable work environment is essential. You must build support within your company, fostering mutual respect, a non-authoritarian approach and most importantly treating all employees like family so they feel comfortable and can work as a team.

A conducive system will encourage employees to stay longer in your firm and at the same time help your firm to remain strong even when they might decide to exit the company. There are several cases where you give an employee all that's due to them, train them really good only to end up being betrayed by them when they feel they don't need you any longer. In times like that, having a strong system is what will bail you out. On the otter extreme is when an employee is poorly treated. Once that happens, ty direct implication will be that while they are working for you, there mind have left the job and the only thing that's keeping them Thier will be just the pay. And with that sort of mindset, you're already sure you don't have an employee to even start with...

If your company truly want to conduct anonymous survey, they should use offline method, such as paper form collected through a sealed suggestion box. Using an online form for anonymous feedback is just a trick, and luckily people have already realized that. Nice one @Minor Miner but what if his boss can easily identify the handwriting of some of his/her workers unless if the survey is just a yes/no reply or one where you only tick your reply. However, I believe that even if a company has good policies and treat its employees well. They will also never be satisfied, alway complaining and wanting more. Because human nature is inherently greedy, and that greed has no bottom. The boss alway want and finds way to make employees work more. Meanwhile, employees will alway demand higher salaries, bigger bonuses, and more benefits. It will never be enough for them.
Employees and employers demand from each other are always different. Where employees will always wish his money should be increased even without looking at the effect on the company while employers will want more from employees work even without considering his/her strength or health. A balance between the two have to be put in place so both employees and employers can enjoy their working together in such organization.

To keep employees happy at work, you need to create a comfortable, positive, and supportive work environment with open communication, appreciation for their performance, their well-being, and involve them in clear programs so they feel valued and have a clear future in the company. When employees are motivated, they will not only work according to targets, but their loyalty and activity will also increase, they will also always show real work enthusiasm and try to contribute more to the company. Don't let them lose trust in management, because it will be very detrimental to you, they are not only working for their own interests, but also for your interests as the company owner. Always pay their salaries on time, occasionally do something that can increase their enthusiasm such as treating them to meals and giving them bonuses if your business experiences an increase in revenue. The most important thing is making sure the salary is decent. If someone is working for less than their monthly expenses, that’s obviously a problem. People are motivated when they earn more it naturally boosts their drive and willingness to work.I think most people would choose a higher monthly salary over a nicer work environment or things like team lunches. At the moment, and maybe it has always been the case, but it appears that employers have a glut of applicants and have an advantage when it comes to hiring. Even with unemployment being at record lows, there are big firing waves occurring in sectors like IT and happening at lots of big business, as they think that AI can do the job of some people. This is suppressing wages in many cases and meaning they can get away with paying less or giving less perks, because people have no choice to accept. Besides that though, every company should foster an atmosphere where people are not afraid to speak up or be disruptive if it means beneficial outcomes for the business - rather than just demanding unquestioning behavior all the time.

This is neither new nor surprising, it happen in almost every company. The work environment is inherently harsh, alway filled with fierce competition and injustice, whether you work in an office or a factory. You need to know that, in today's job market, competence is not the only determining factor. To survive, sometimes you need relationship, know how to behave, stay patient, and only say what need to be said at the right time. Sometimes, speaking the truth and living authentically can actually be a disadvantage for you. Instead of discussing what companies should do to retain employees, we should discuss how employees can survive in the workplace. Because of the current labor market situation, workers are in a more passive position. Companies do not lack replacement, while the labor market is experiencing a severe surplus of manpower due to the development of AI and technology.

I am from a developing country and I have seen a lot in the hands of people running companies and businesses, I have joined alot of side hustles in the past and they all have one thing in common, power drunk and injustice.
Don't expect to be treated right, people are looking for jobs so if you leave because of how you are treated some people are waiting for that opportunity and they won't care how they are been treated.
If you want to retain employees, be a different master, don't be too harsh and always pay right on time, people are going through alot and debt even from their work places are very common.

You can't say there is no freedom when working in a company maybe there are company that doesn't give there workers freedom but i haven't seen, the company around us most expecially the oil companies always have weeks of rest for their workers you can say that they can't visit home when they are at duty but most of the companies here work on two weeks on two weeks off when are they are off duty they can go to places they wanted to, visit relations too and do others things they couldn't do when they were on duty.

When working under a company, there is no freedom. Although it is different in developed countries. But in most cases, no one gets the freedom to express their opinion properly. I would say that the reason for this is the lack of adequate job opportunities. Because when unemployment increases, companies are not obliged to give their employees rights. And a job means voluntarily selling your personal freedom and time to someone in exchange for money. Here, the management uses the employees as they wishes. There are few companies that genuinely try to keep their employees happy.
You can't say there is no freedom when working in a company maybe there are company that doesn't give there workers freedom but i haven't seen, the company around us most expecially the oil companies always have weeks of rest for their workers you can say that they can't visit home when they are at duty but most of the companies here work on two weeks on two weeks off when are they are off duty they can go to places they wanted to, visit relations too and do others things they couldn't do when they were on duty. @Rabata is wrong in giving only the developed countries the preference of being the only countries to have company who gives freedom to all the people that works for them because a company policy remain the same even if they are operating in a non developed countries they will still give everybody the same opportunity to work and take leave, so actually all this freedom depends on the company and not the country because even on the developed countries you could still see company who will never allow there employees to rest a week or two in a month and there are also a lot of companies who does that in non developed countries but however you are right @Zackz5000 because a lot of company in my country believes that all employees should have time for resting and medical treatment for at least once in a month, so actually there is nobody that would be giving this chance and they said there is no freedom in the company.

These days it is. That's because many of the employees are looking for better salaries. Loyalty is no longer a thing for them, what they need to fulfill are their important bills that they need to pay. We treat them with respect, that's not enough although some employees prefer that. Still if they don't have enough salary, they'll still find another one that can sustain their bills. So even with utmost care and respect to the employees, if they are not receiving enough or even if they do but as long as there's another better offer to them, they'll grab it without having any second thought.
That applies to the company as well, not just the employees. If the company can find better and more productive employees. They will also not hesitate to fire loyal and enthusiastic employees who have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to the company. Therefore, do not demand absolute loyalty from employees when, in essence, they are all the same. Essentially, the relationship between employees and the company is also based on mutual benefit. Therefore, when the benefit gained by both parties are no longer balanced, a breakup is not surprising.

I would like to ask a personal question about when an entrepreneur should look for employees. What is the right way to retain them and keep them interested in your company? I appreciate creative and abstract ideas.
One of the best ways to treat your employees and get them to give their 100% devotion to your establishment is for you to treat them as you would your customers, if you treat them very well they will reciprocate and treat your customers very well. I've realized that people need respect from their bosses and if superiors treats their subordinates with respect the subordinates will want to show their loyalty by doing their jobs very well to show appreciation to the superior. If you don't treat your workers with the respect that they deserve they will not have the zeal and motivation to put in their very best in the job that you employed them to do, they will feel less concerned in their jobs because you don't appreciate and respect them. It is not as if you cannot caution your staff but you should correct them with respect. Most importantly you should pay your workers well because they need more money and that is why they are working for you so when you pay your workers reasonably well according to their output they will work hard for you to truly earn their incomes. Your payment should be comparable to what others are paying their workers in the same industry or better than others.

In the company where I worked for the last time many years ago, the management thought it was a good idea to survey the employees about their satisfaction with the company. They conducted a pseudo-anonymous survey, asking the employees if they were satisfied with their salaries, their supervisors, their meals, and their work schedules. However, everyone was afraid to answer the questions honestly because the management knew each employee's IP address. There was no anonymity. As a result, everyone was afraid of being fired if they started to write the truth.

If you value your happiness over the paycheck then there is no reason working in a company where you are not happy because it will affect you mentally and other wise, if you are not happy at where you are working you should set a target and once such target is achieve you can look for somewhere else to work that will give you the happiness which you so much desire, one thing I know is that no one can force you in to working for a company where you are not happy with the company overall operations, it is entirely your choice and decisions, it is either you quite or or continue working, you also note that most employees can never be satisfied because of their high expectations.

I am from a developing country and I have seen a lot in the hands of people running companies and businesses, I have joined alot of side hustles in the past and they all have one thing in common, power drunk and injustice.
Don't expect to be treated right, people are looking for jobs so if you leave because of how you are treated some people are waiting for that opportunity and they won't care how they are been treated.
If you want to retain employees, be a different master, don't be too harsh and always pay right on time, people are going through alot and debt even from their work places are very common.
Absolutely the right words about payment, because many managers generally have the opinion that it is possible to motivate employees with something other than money. And it always looks funny. When I was still working at an official job many years ago, I often heard questions from the head of "dear employees, tell me what can motivate you besides money," and immediately everyone hid a smile. And what can motivate you? In words? smiles? Everyone pays their mortgages and debts with money, and expects only money from work.

This is neither new nor surprising, it happen in almost every company. The work environment is inherently harsh, alway filled with fierce competition and injustice, whether you work in an office or a factory.
You need to know that, in today's job market, competence is not the only determining factor. To survive, sometimes you need relationship, know how to behave, stay patient, and only say what need to be said at the right time. Sometimes, speaking the truth and living authentically can actually be a disadvantage for you.
Instead of discussing what companies should do to retain employees, we should discuss how employees can survive in the workplace. Because of the current labor market situation, workers are in a more passive position. Companies do not lack replacement, while the labor market is experiencing a severe surplus of manpower due to the development of AI and technology.
Yes, I understand that the work environment does tend to be harsh, one of them is because there are workers who look for faces to get attention from the boss, one of the people who is like a pest because it is annoying. Even though the company is not short of replacements, but at least they should be able to give the best to their employees because after all, it is not easy to recruit new workers, unless they choose by default.

Employees dont leave company, even if they were offered a better payment, if their employer is good. The answer is simple, be a good boss, and employees will stay. If employer is good with his employees, employees wont even try to find other job. Question is - how to be a good boss. That is complicated, as personal approach needs to be found with any employee boss face and communicate with. Boss need to be on same wave with his employee. He should not be a person who only give tasks and pay.
