Not always, I think there are other things that make them willing to stay working in a company even though salary is indeed the most important thing, but it does not automatically become a benchmark because work comfort is not just a matter of money. So we must admit that retaining employees is not an easy thing, therefore we must first be able to make clear rules and implement them very well without anything that burdens the employees in them.
This may have been the case in the past, but currently, employees are wary of other things: their positions could be replaced by machines, making their energy and mental resources unnecessary for the company. However, for employees who are truly worthy of being retained, their comfort and salary levels must be clearer, and there should be no changes that could make it difficult for them to remain. Most employees who leave do so because the environment is no longer comfortable and the salary is no longer commensurate with current conditions.

Salary is one thing that can also keep employee when the salary is no longer attractive the employee may just decide to leave to seek for another job opportunities, also the relationship between the boss and the employee is also what that can keep your employees because so many boss has loss there good employee due to how they treat and speak employee and also the salary which they take home every months.

Pleasing your workers by providing decent amount in terms of salaries and have a haelthy environment will surely gives the owner a benefits, especially if the employees are all thankful, they will keep their job to superb performances and at the end of the day both sides will be productive it's important to understand well how to treat your employee, though there's limitation but by showing them that you are making them as your family then they will treasure that treatment and become loyal, but only applicable to those who knows how to pay respect but to those who are not then it will be a different perspectives and opinions.
I still believe that even employees are compensated well, there will be the times that they think it won't be enough.

As for them, lifestyle inflation will hit them and that will make them feel that the salary is no longer enough.

And when that time comes, some good offers they think will be there for them and when that comes. It will be the time for themselves to convince to leave and take the better offer.

Inflationary pressures are only a minor reason why employees will never feel satisfied, even with high salaries. Greed and constant comparison with others are the bigger reason

Humans are inherently greedy and alway looking up, rarely looking down and being content with what they have. That is why employees will continue to complain and demand more even when the company has already met their previous request. And for that reason, many companies are no longer trying too hard to satisfy every employee. Instead, they are choosing to look for more suitable replacement.

Agree to that, even how hard the owner or employer do try to meet whatever the demands of their employee there are still people who will look for a different path, instead of being happy and content they will try to find other options, I also see your point that employer will soon realize that they can't do anything and they just need to let go and move forward, as long as they'll able to find someone who can fill the missing position then business should go on and continue.

I have enough examples when employees left for a less paid job because of bosses horrible attitude and amount of duties and tasks they where to do. It is sometimes better earn less but work in piece than get shouted at because you did all wrong, work slow, havent done something in time, even though it was all impossible to do. I would quit if the boss has such attitude as "I pay you, I have rights to behave like I want to". Shutting up employees with high payment this is not work, that is patience because of money.
It is a crazy thought in my opinion if there is a boss with a vision like what you said, because even though they pay us does not mean they can be arbitrary in everything because basically we work by having to carry out tasks according to the job. Sometimes I also enter a job where the boss can be as arbitrary as possible even outside the concept of work even though in the impression I am just helping but over time this becomes a habit that is outside of work and it doesn't make sense unless maybe it becomes an additional job that can generate additional payment as well.

IMHO, that's not greediness.

Because it is a subjective matter if it's about the compensation and being paid well. There can be an ambition for those employees who have future plans.

And that's why forcing them to stay through decent compensation won't even enough. They might even take a job that's got a lower salary if it's the dream job that they want to work.

But I think most of those who goes to another better job with higher salary is just all about surviving and we all have been in that situation.

Not all bosses behave the same, some may be exceptional, but if a boss behaves badly with an employee, it will be difficult for many to work at that place. There are some who cannot tolerate that behavior, but they try to do the job even if it is difficult, and there are some who ready to leave their jobs immediately. Although no one thinks of leaving a high-paying job to work for a lower pay, but if the situation is very bad, then they are forced to leave. I try my best to fulfill my duties so that my boss does not get worried with me, but sometimes even when I work with responsibility, I have to suffer a lot for any small mistake. All bosses should behave well with their employees, so that they will be motivated to work more, which is a positive aspect for that company or the organization.

As I said, human nature is inherently greedy and very few people will be content with what they have.

Employers alway want employees to dedicate themselves fully and work tirelessly, while employees alway want higher pay and often feel they are being treated unfairly. Nobody is truly satisfied with what they have or considerate to think about others

However, there is one thing we need to remember. Employers alway have the upper hand in this relationship. They are the ones investing capital, taking risk, and creating jobs. Therefore, as employees, we should understand our position and avoid making excessive demand. Because if the relationship breaks down, employees will usually suffer more in the end.

Very true. If an employee doesn't see himself as a part of a company the only thing that keeps him interested in your company is how much you're paying him and the value he's gaining by being a part of your company.

As an employee, he already knows he can be layed off anyday so he continues staying because he's getting more value or that he's getting payed in a good way.

It's undeniable that salary is crucial for retaining skilled employees. If the salary is too low and doesn't match the job, they will leave or look for other jobs.

While salary is important in the long term the primary factor that keeps employees employed is a work environment that makes them feel comfortable and appreciated. Employees today are working toward purpose, growth and belonging not just money. Therefore, when they perceive a poor work environment it can lead to resignation, even if the salary is high. Conversely if you create a positive and positive environment you will automatically encourage employees to stay even if higher salaries are offered elsewhere.

Let's look at this situation pragmatically. 🙋

The average employee won't change jobs unless they have the opportunity to find a more promising, higher-paying, and comfortable position.

As for very young people, experience is the most important thing. They're at the very beginning of their careers. Therefore, they're more likely to choose a job where they can gain new and interesting experience. I did the same when I was young.

For more experienced employees, in my opinion, factors such as salary and comfortable working conditions are more important.

Therefore, if an employer doesn't yell at their employees, humiliate them, or put out cigarettes on their bodies, then, in my opinion, they're already doing a lot to retain valuable employees...

However, in my opinion, the most important thing is still salary. We all exchange our time for money in one way or another. Not everyone has passive income (unfortunately). Therefore, all other things being equal, a person will always choose a job with a higher salary.

The most important thing, in my opinion, is to avoid instilling in employees the idea that they and their employer are one big family. I consider this a very vulgar statement. Family is usually waiting for a person at home when they return from work. At work, people earn money (earn income) and realize their potential (that is, engage in interesting, creative work). At the same time, I often became friends with my immediate supervisors. And these were sincere relationships based on shared interests.

Why do you need creative and abstract ideas?  Why not simple?  Pay them well and dont be a nightmare to work for.  People work for a paycheck, not your "vision."  If you want them to care about your company as much as you do, give them something in return.
Paying staff well is not enough despite it is a necessity to keep them in the job. Making them have an understanding of the organisation vision and making the vision to match up with those of their personal dreams, it will make achieving great height for the organisation much simpler and exciting for the workers.

Many of the times workers find it difficult to work and find fulfilment within an organisation dew to how the organisation goals do not work in a direction that it as well fulfils theirs as workers, and this is not rooted deeply in salary scale but some feeling deeper than a big salary payment.

Every employer must have to fine-tune ways to put all of this in place in his organisation to excel.
This is still simply saying, most employees don’t like to stay in an environment or organization where they can’t grow. Most employees despite the salary, when they notice that they can’t grow in that particular organization or the organization’s goal doesn’t align with their career goals, makes it easier for them to leave to avoid been stocked where they are not supposed to be, because they see being in that organization as been backward or if they continue to be there, they can’t achieve their dreams.

Employers should create a conducive work environment for growth, as this will help encourage workers and serve as a motivation to workers to keep working to be able to achieve a certain height.

I would like to ask a personal question about when an entrepreneur should look for employees. What is the right way to retain them and keep them interested in your company? I appreciate creative and abstract ideas.
The best way to retain your staff and make them to do your job very well is to treat them right, and also pay very well, though some might still leave for a better opportunity, since loyalty are rare this days, but if you have a reputation of treating your workers the right way, and they are paid well, you wouldn't be short of skilled workers.
Their are some people that will still leave the job even if you pay the best in the country because to such people, it's not just about money, they want to be free from being boss around, so don't blame yourself when such people leaves your company because such person is leaving to chase his dreams, not from the place of poor salary or being treated wrong.

Indeed employees do work for the paycheck but, people are more comfortable working were they are valued, working conditions are fair and in a friendly atmosphere.

You have to treat these employees as though you are preparing them towards owning and running a business of their own someday. That way, they understand that, there purpose out there isn’t just about working for you while, you leave them with crumbs but, you are preparing them for a future they yet don’t know.

Don’t be the kind of CEO or Boss that everyone would need to adjust or comport themselves when you’re around, you should be able to command respect in a mutual way and not instill fear.
That way, you would have staff that would be open to discussing whatever and even provide suggestions that would add the smooth running of business.

Basically you should treat your workers with respect and pay them well according to the capacity of your company, some people will be loyal and work for you not because you are paying more than your competitors but because of your high regards for them. I've come to find out that people value respect from their employees, if you accord them their full respect they will want to reciprocate it by giving their best in working for you.

Try not to take it personal if you respect your employees and pays them very well accordingly and some of them wants to leave, you should have it at the back of your mind that employees will come and go no matter how nice you are to them. If you're treating an employee well and they wants to live you just have to wish them well and look for their replacement, you might be lucky to get somebody better than them. It is said that soldiers come and soldiers go but the barrack remains so your company is the barrack and the employees are the soldiers who will come and go.
