I am not sure why i assumed that of course he would be showing me what the bet was before i would respond. As i would have rejected the offer no matter what. This attitude by neighbors and friends is very common in this part of the world, and I have also had my own fair share of the experience in the past, where a neighbor three compounds away from mine walked up to me with and told me to play a game and I asked him if he did play the game he said no and I asked him why, his response was that he had no money and I asked him why did he not borrow since he was sure of the game and he kept mute and walked away. The view of being independent in analysing any situation gives us a natural protection against the trap of people who are great at persuasion but not taking risks. It is essential to understand that it is extremely challenging to all of us to execute a change done in an environment that still tends to support old ways of doing things. We have to review our group of friends in such a way that we do not drain all our energies in combating negative external pulls on a daily basis. Before I went to this thread, there's a topic about winning in the start of year 2026 and I said that a good start doesn't mean a good ending in gambling.

So I really get your point here, why do people keep sticking to their old poor habits if they can't even stand the addiction or impulsiveness. People are easily baited to this kind of mindset, trying to prove something that it's working. If you already knew about the outcome, why would a person still commit? Yes, and its like excercise if you start to use those muscles in self control they grow strong too! Eventually you get to a point that you start to look back on your past self and realize how silly it all is. You suddenly can't beleive the hole that you dug yourself in or can't believe that you used to conduct yourself in a certain way and then it becomes one of those things that makes you want to get better in every other way.

If your neighbor is truly profitable, why wouldn’t he keep the winnings for himself instead of inviting others to join? That suggests an ulterior motive, and fortunately you didn’t fall for it. Personally, when someone approaches me with such an idea, I see it as a clear red flag and dismiss it immediately.

A lot of people are like that they will come and give you game  to Play telling you that is a sure game, such game I do play it with small money but there was a game they gave to me one certain time I underrate the person that gave me the game by playing with small amount of money and the game play a person who saw me when I was playing the game use a big money to play thesame game and the person win big,so not all the time you will reject a game from people instead of you rejecting a game use a small money to play it, because if you reject a game and later no that the game play you will regret too much.

How come playing a game is a "sure banger"? No game is guaranteed for you to win, unless the game is rigged in your favor.
When someone puts "investing" and "game" in one sentence, this is definitely a scam. I would never ever talk again to a neighbor, who offers me such "investment opportunity". I never understood why some people are so arrogant, stupid and delusional. Maybe their gambling addiction is twisting their minds or maybe they are sociopaths, who think that they are good at manipulating people. Nobody in my social circle has ever asked me to invest money in shady projects and nobody has ever asked me to "invest" in gambling. My social circle is pretty anti-gambling and "anti-risk" minded.

It's not wise to use gambling in such a situation when you know that it's all about luck and you can possibly lose whatever you have instead of getting more from it. Some people often make this mistake, even if they only have a small amount and have nothing else apart from that, instead of using that for something useful, they think of gambling with it with the hope that they might win something with it, but they don't think about the negative consequences of doing that, which is that they could possibly lose what they currently have.

There is also another very big mistake that some people make, and I thought you were going to talk about that as I started reading your post because you mentioned about a friend asking for money and this we are in the gambling board I thought you caught them gambling with your money, but anyway, some people borrow money from others and then use that money to gamble hoping that they will make more money with it and then repay what they had borrowed.
