If this person's health condition is very critical, the first thing that he will think about isn't money or gambling wins, he will even forget that he owns a smartphone somewhere, trust me, I know how it feels because I was once on a sick bed in the past, and this is how I felt at the time.

His condition is not critical at all, I am guessing that this is a normal sickness treatment, like malaria or fever where he decides or the doctor decides to flush out his system, but yet again, I don't like that he is doing this, even if his condition isn't critical it makes no sense to be glued to your smartphone while on a hospital bed, I suspect that this is a sign of too much desire for gambling, which later in life can turn into an addiction.

If they are going to still gamble then they are putting a lot of thing as risk. Still it is their choice to gamble or not and hence the money being theirs they are free to do what they want with it.

First of all, the workers at the hospital are to be blamed for this because they know someone on life support needs a lot of rest but they still allowed him to hold his mobile phone which was supposed to be taken and kept safely for his own good. Well, anything that keeps him happy. some critical conditions requires a little bit of fun and relaxation to ease the condition.

O don't think at this point this thing he is doing is gonna be relieving for a man who is on life support to still be gambling with his phone is not a good thing to do at that moment at all, he should probably be resting and not sitting up to be gambling with his phone. I agree with you on the part where you said the nurses on duty are to blame because for a patient in that kind of condition he should not be allowed to distract himself with gambling he should rather focus on recovering. Maybe this is the height of addiction and he should work on himself and focus on stopping his gambling addiction because this is clearly an addiction.

Like I said in my earlier comment on this topic, the picture isn't clear enough and it's impossible to tell for sure if that person is even in the hospital for real, it's important to also tell for sure if what he is doing on that phone he's holding us gambling, and it's also very impossible to tell if he is receiving oxygen indeed..

Come to even think of it, why will a hospital fix an oxygen on someone who is breathing well and even conscious enough to be sitting up and pressing phone? To the best of my knowledge, oxygen are only administered to patients who have difficulty maintaining breathing and are also possibly unconscious, I think the ops claim is hoax, as a matter of fact, that picture can be Ai generated too.

That is exactly what the peak of gambling addiction looks like. That person in the photo should be thinking much more for his health condition as that shows a heavy clinical condition for as long as the guy is being fed oxygen. The person could have been fighting Covid and needed oxygen in order to get better and if this was the case meaning he was fighting for his life and still gambling this as I said is the peak of gambling addiction. Now we can only assume based on this picture but I would go and say that most probably the stress from gambling addiction brought this person in the very picture here and he still does not care. This maybe what we call a desperate case that has no remedy.

There are many fun ways for people who are sick in the hospital to relieve themselves of the sufferings that they are going through, they can play games on their phones, watch TV or just have people around them to cheer them up. If you have the time for distractions when you're in the hospital it means that your case is not critical so by all means try to amuse yourself but not with gambling, gambling can raise your blood pressure which can worsen your situation, when sick people shouldn't engage in things that can give them bad moods like gambling loses. Hospital staff are also supposed to be monitoring their patients so that they won't engage in harmful practices.

It’s normal for some people to think negatively about gambling. I’ve realized that there are people or societies who naturally have this disgust about gambling and all who indulge in gambling, so even if a gambler is actually doing it responsibly, they are still very much disturbed by it and view such a person as irresponsible and may even go further to pain a wrong picture about the person to others. It is still speculation, although from the picture I saw it was quite alarming when someone who was sick forced himself to continue to engage in gambling but from another point of view it could be that the reason was because of boredom, I'm sure you must also feel how boring it is when we are in the hospital for a long time and it could be that the man also felt that he filled the boring time by gambling.

I really can't tell from the picture if the man is really on life support. If the man is really gambling while he is sick then it is not right at all because gambling while he is sick can make him mentally and physically ill and he cannot handle the stress of losing. Gambling in a healthy and normal state is good because it helps to control one's mentality, and gambling is very effective in maintaining self-control over oneself. Gambling is mainly for entertainment, if the man is gambling to enjoy his free time for entertainment purposes then it is good, but if the man is gambling out of addiction then it is very risky and dangerous.

A healthy person can travel, have sex, dance, play sports, and so on. A healthy person can set and achieve ambitious goals. A sick person doesn't have the opportunity to engage in all these activities. Their future is uncertain, and their physical and mental strength is depleted. The information is from a particular bloger in my country so I think the image must have gone viral before they could post it so I believe the person in the image is in the hospital but if he's in an oxygen I can't tell. It is not also very clear to see the betting platform he's using to get but you just have to believe that he's gambling for the image to have gone viral from his hospital bed this things happen a lot when people are addicted.

But it's pretty horrible for an addiction because honestly I would totally agree when saying that this is the peak of addiction as the OP said in the title.

This gambler no longer recognizes time well enough to gamble and does it anywhere. Although this concept is in accordance with what gambling sites want to aim for because they can play anywhere and anytime but for the conditions that occur as in the picture it is clearly too much for a gambler lol.

I know every gambler who already has a problem of addiction will be very difficult to stop his gambling activities because there will always be an urge for it but this seems to be on a level that is even crazier than I imagined. The original video was posted on February 2024, you can check it here. It's quite hard to believe anything we see on the internet these days. It's not even clear if he's actually gambling or just using his phone normally, since the video quality is low. There's also the possibility that it's just a skit for social media, but assuming that it's true, we still can't really say for sure if he's addicted or not. His condition doesn't seem to be too bad, maybe he's just bored at the hospital and gambling makes him a little bit more at ease.

That's gambling addiction, but I don't want to say that he's at it's peak though because... I'm not the right person to say it, but one thing's for sure, he's addicted to gambling.

On the flip side, maybe that's his way of making himself happy after what happened to him. The context isn't enough, and we are only looking at the one side of the coin, but he's still addicted to gambling. I mean who in the hell will still gamble despite having an oxygen on you? Instead of just recovering, he opened his phone and gambled. Anyway, there's also a chance that he might not be gambling at all. We don't see what he's doing on his phone based on just a single picture alone. I might've said that he's addicted, but only if he really is gambling during that time.

Whatever the case is, I just hope that he's okay right now since based on some posts here, it was posted around 2024, and if he gambles then I hope that he stopped gambling as well.

Interestingly, when you are sick and in trouble that is when gambling becomes easier. There are two main reasons, and it would "make sense" when you hear about it, obviously it is still very wrong but I am just sharing why addiction is easier when you are sick (specially in hospital).

One is finance, when you are sick, it costs a lot to be sick, even if you are not paying for any medical in some counties, you are still not working and making money, so financially it's difficult to be sick and people want to somehow make some money.

Secondly boredom, because if you are sick and tied to oxygen tank then it means you are not really doing much, sure reading a book or watching tiktok etc would be harmless, but some just prefer gambling for first reason and fix their boredom together.
