Does anyone else feel unlucky every time they lose?

I don’t know if I’m overthinking, but every time I place a bet, say 5 games, and 2 lose, my first thought is always: “I’m just unlucky.”

I catch myself thinking, if I hadn’t played those games, it would’ve gone the other way.

Yeah, I do have this feeling most times especially when I play multiple games and it turns out that the last game spoil the whole games, at that point I will start thinking that maybe the casino reach agreement with the team asking them to loss so that people will fail and then they will get their money especially when they discovered that majority of the gamblers include the game on their betslip because they knew that once the team loss to their opponent that majority of the gamblers would loss as well and they make thier profit, I don't know if there's any one else who is sharing the same feeling with me.

This just reminds me of the gist my friend gave me yesterday. He said he has been playing games for a while now with big money but has always lost it, to him, it feels like he's now unlucky, but he kept trying because he has always been lucky, but just things changed. So last night he played with 83 naira and won about 14,000 naira he was so happy and wished he used better money. It's a normal feeling, when you lose, you feel unlucky, especially when it's becoming frequent, and when you win small, you wish you had used a better amount. But regardless, we are just human, and it's okay to feel that way, but always remember a lucky day will come for you. Don't expect too much so you don't get hurt when it's not yet here.

I agree with your sentiment, it's normal to feel that way when you are not getting the supposed outcome that you are aiming, though there's no assurance as gambling is a risky place where there's no accurate patterns that you can follow, it's more  on how luck will guide and lead you, and since that a human nature to feel dissapointment, it's needs to be handle by accepting the outcome and not  to dwell to anything better to use an amount that you are capable to letgo.

IMHO, that's not a weird mindset but it's sort of odd to think that you've got a good ratio and percentage accuracy of your winning rate and yet, you're thinking that you're unlucky.

We probably think that we're so lucky at all times but that can't be done whenever we think of it.

What matters is on how we'll be winning with the moments that when we bet with bigger amounts or when we're in so much losses and yet, we're about to win those bets.

It's okay to feel not okay with your results but sometimes, we also need to look at the brighter side that if we have won, we have to acknowledge that.

Everyone feels this way, especially if they are on a losing streak.

However, it doesnt change the fact that as a gambler you wont stop gambling, because you will surely reach those days where you get lucky to win.

Losing in gambling is not a forever thing. Most times, I bet 4 slips a day; 2 win and 2 lose. On some good days, all 4 games turn out to be wins.

I don't find that mentality strange; many people think that way. When you lose, it's easy to blame everything on bad luck, but in reality, that's part of the ups and downs of betting. Our brain tries to find patterns and even thinks we influenced the result just by betting, but that's just a way of thinking. The problem is that this thinking can lead to forcing more bets to recover, thinking that now the luck will turn.

Seriously of late, I’ve being having this feeling and even today. I make predictions on an accumulation or multi bet and I get the feeling that, I’ve just included that one prediction that is going to mess up all my hard work. Now the real problem always comes in having to sieve it out but, you never know. Today, it was Juventus and of all the predictions I made, I had a sense of certainty about them to score at least one goal but no, they conceded 3 goals and scored none. Another day to be unlucky and endure some losses.

Most of the time persistent gets you in more deep shit. Some times when you figure out you’re losing, the best thing to do is to walk away and maybe come back some other time.

Exactly, Gambling is a source of entertainment which means it’s already not serving its purpose if you are just feeling bad while playing due to the losses you are experiencing.

I do the same of stopping gambling if I feel that I’m not getting anything good on my game rather than more losses. There’s always a time that most of our bets are losing and that’s a signal to stop.

That's normal, bro, because I sometimes think that way too, but it's better because I think that thinking that we're unlucky at that moment should make us stop betting again at that moment. So, in my opinion, having that thought should be a limit for us to stop betting.
And even if we manage to win any amount, just think that we're lucky enough.

I also feel unlucky when I lose. It happens to everyone. Luck matters in gambling. However, in gambling, you have to accept both losing and winning. However, in my case, if I lose 5-7 times in a row, I stop gambling. I take a break for a while, maybe 1 or 2 hours, then start gambling again with a refreshed mind so that the previous consecutive losses do not affect me.

I think gambling is mainly for entertainment, gambling for the purpose of earning money is not a right decision at all. We do not know in advance what the result will be through gambling, we have to depend on luck to win. If luck is good, you can win by gambling and if luck is not good, you cannot win by gambling, There are wins and losses in every game. When we gain the right knowledge about gambling and keep gambling, then we will not feel unlucky no matter what the result of gambling is. And when we gamble without understanding anything and just hope to make money, as a result, if we lose, we cannot control our emotions and greed, we will feel unlucky.

Yea its normal to think that way specifically when betting on slots and games of chance,
games where "luck" is a factor to some extent.

When I lose in sports betting I never factor luck into the thinking, I rather think that I possibly
didnt do enough pre match analysis.

Sometimes I lose all 5. Just as there is no guarantee of winning in gambling, so be mentally prepared that you will lose most of the time. After losing a bet, I have a nagging thought that if I had made a different decision, the outcome might have been in my favour, but this is just to blame my mentality and luck and find peace of mind.

To convince your mind that the decision you made was right but luck was not in your favour. Such a mentality does not affect the outcome of gambling, but it presents yourself to others as a smart gambler.

Frankly speaking, this is not uncharacteristic. Our brain is so designed that whenever we lose, we accuse luck and when we win, we believe that the decision made was very good. However, all too often it is mere chance, we can not be in charge of everything.
Individually, I believe it is more appropriate to have one rule which is to have a limit whether one loses or wins. Then it is not a stressful game. Finally, luck is not more than self-control.

You are right mate, it's absolutely true that we overemphasize on losses while we don't do so when we win, although it also depends on the amount that was won, if I win 3 times in a row too, I feel very lucky but the moment I'm stroke by 1 lose, it's going to turn that happy feeling to unhappy moment. It's repetitive for me when I'm playing dice, after winning 2 rounds, I might think that the next round would also be a win, because of that I will increase the wagering amount but that third round will bust me out.

The psychological disparity in success and failure is a big burden we have to carry whenever it comes to the game. I realise overconfidence motivated me to invest even more funds on the two easy wins after having won two matches in a row. Betting on five games and losing only two is normal I think, and I wouldn’t feel unlucky. It’s a different story if I lose all five games in a row then I’d call myself unlucky and immediately stop playing. Sometimes gambling makes us feel lucky and sometimes it makes us feel unlucky, and that’s normal. You just need to know when to stop and not be too greedy. If losing only two games already makes us feel unlucky, what should we call ourselves when we lose all five?
