This days many folks has joined the gambling system without looking back, the rate of gamblers are increasing on a daily basis and the most craziest part is that not everyone of them has a genuine intentions, some are just doing it for the fun, some came in quest for quick success, some do it for short term profit, many people with many options.

However, seeing all these latest happenings have made me thought of bringing this topic for the members of this house to look into it. Nobody will aggry to the fact that they gamble for any of those crazy reasons stated above, they we all say they do it for the fun, so what's your purpose of gambling? are you really doing it for the fun or you are just among those that are doing something else and hiding under the umbrella of doing it for the fun. Well, in all honesty, not everyone is really gambling just for fun!! I mean not everyone can afford to lose money all in the name of having fun. a lot of people say it is for fun, but deep down, many are hoping to make money or recover losses. The fun part is sometimes just a way to justify it. For sure, some people truly play for entertainment, but for many others, there is always that expectation of winning something. That’s why it can easily become more serious than they planned in the early stages.

This question is really complicated to me because, what every gambler will be saying when asked about gambling is that he or she may be doing it for fun. But the fact is that most of the people gambling is not gambling for the purpose of fun but, is after making quick cash. You are wrong; not everyone is bold enough to say why they are actually gambling. Some make it open that their main purpose is profit. Even when it's not possible, they still do not deny the fact.

As for me, if gambling were never a place with a possible chance to increase our money, I would never be doing it in the first place. The profit is the convenience element, while having in mind that winning is not guaranteed, fun is used to compensate for the time and money spent.

Everybody is gambling for the money, and  that's why they keep risking huge amount of money and losing. If they are not gambling and risking for the Money, why didn't some people quit after several attempt of no success? They should have stopped but they didn't because they have strong mindset and believe that they will win big someday, and this keep them grinding and hoping, even though they are not sure if such thing will happen. From my observation almost everyone is looking for the money because the rate at which people lose on daily basis can not be overemphasized. With the amount people spend each day, shows that they are truly gambling for the Money.

Personally, I am not that kind of hardcore Gambler and  most of the time I do  gambling on occasionally and as well also when I saw in match and have strong confidence on the prediction. On that time I usually do the sports betting.
I don't know what you will say about me, but I always try to balance this issue by not gambling beyond my ability to lose. Because I at least accept one thing that the number of winners in gambling is always small and the number of losers is always large. And in this, I basically try to find joy. And here I will show this much logic that if I considered gambling not as entertainment but as an investment or money generating source, then of course I would try to stake large amounts in gambling.

Personally, i gamble to make money from gambling, even my friends who also gamble with me, never said one day that they gamble for fun. Since I started gambling, I have not met any one who says he gamble for fun, and anything fun does not bring sadness. Those who say they gamble for fun, watch the way they react each time they loose their bet, if really they are happy or not, and then you will know who is gambling for fun.
Majority of the gamblers I know are not always happy when they loose bet , and some gamble throughout a whole season without even winning a bet instead they keep loosing the money they have to the betting company, and honestly I don't consider gambling as a fun because is not an easy way of making money.

Since gambling is a game of choice with individuals interest which some finds potential profitability and entertaining which can also be a hubby should be unarguable whenever any gambler tells you about the reason why they chooses to gamble.
You either don't have to think gambling for money is habitual acts of irresponsibility of the  individual.

Of course I can decide to play for fun today and the next day chasing the profits.

I have no doubt why I enjoy gambling. I have no problem stopping when I feel it's necessary. I have no problems with my budget; in fact, I've even reduced how much I spend on gambling. Gambling to win, and gambling to make money, there is the difference. Gambler motivated by ego tend to find it very difficult to quit the habit since they are so dedicated to frequent gambling to make the regular wins. You do have a point mate, some gamblers are just into the gambling activities only for fun and  entertainment and no other purpose of making money from gambling. But so many gamblers are just into the gambling activities only for making profit and doubling their funds and nothing more, some don’t even have the love for sports but they gamble so much just to make money.
 Many of this gamblers do not really have high interest into sports but gambling boost up their love for sports with the help of doubling their funds and making money.

If you are really not chasing losses and can keep your bankroll normal, then yeah you are telling the truth. The "fun" part matters when you are careful, if you really are after only getting some fun, then you are going to end up with being careful with what you deposit, if you limit what you deposit and only lose what you are comfortable with losing then you can have fun. But if you lose and then deposit more and more until you get it back and then you lose it all, then that's not fun and that's addiction and stupid.

When gambling was created for entertainment, trying it for money making not at all making any sense. We are being misguided by wrong examples of some people's rare winning. Entertainment is a guaranteed out of come of gambling but people look for rare out come and then always chasing that.

I have seen threads that question the purpose of gambling and the answers are varied, and the rebuttal with the word fun is a form of those who hide themselves is the thing they hate that is losing, when in essence it is looking for profit with multiples that can be maximized in betting, someone hopes to get unexpected money by spinning slot machines, throwing dice, or betting on sports, thinking that maybe it can get lucky and the money that is bet can get a lot of money.
I don't need to deny that I also have the goal of getting lucky and multiplying my money.
