Losing isn't fun, so anyone telling you they just gamble for fun either wins or expects to win. No one enjoys losing all the time. Boxers love to box not because they like getting brain trauma, broken noses, and bloody mouths, but because they want to punch and cause that in the other guy.

If there was an exciting game that was considered the most entertaining one in the world, but you would 100% lose your stake betting on it, very few to no people would play it. The thrill is in seeking and expecting the win.

How come gambling for fun is a crazy reason to gamble? Gambling is dedicated for entertainment purposes which means having fun is the ultimate why someone should gamble.

Other reason is also personal depending on each gambler but as long as they are enjoying and gambling responsibly then I don’t think that’s crazy.

Gambling is not always losses, there’s a high chance that you will lose over your winning rate but you can actually win and that’s the fun on gambling coming from.

I am not sure if I am the only one who don't want to trust that people gambling just for fun. Because if you are gambling with money, then it should be a serious move; you may lose your money there. If it's for fun and time pass, then there are a lot of sites for free games you can enjoy and play for fun. You won't lose or win something there; even if you are addicted, you aren't going to lose.

It’s just like trading on a demo account with some fake money in it. I don’t know about others but it’s not fun at all, because there's definitely no risk involved. Same goes for gambling, there’s no fun in playing some demo games, I think the real fun is actually taking those little risks and knowing your risks actually paid off too. Yes you lose money but even when you do, it’s just a very small amount, so it’s not really a big deal. Doing it for the sake of getting to know more of the game and to make some profit out of it. Yeah it's fun but only if you make something out of it, either for learning or for the profit. No, I'm not clearly hiding as I know my intentions on doin this especially in sports betting considering it really has something to offer if you know the game. I know many will not agree but if you can get something piece of the pie, that would be valuable.

If we’re talking about “fun” in and of itself, I think it’s self-deception because most of the time you’re going to lose, and in the long run, you’re bound to lose—and there’s nothing funny about that. If, instead of “fun,” we talk about entertainment, then the concept fits better within responsible gambling and being aware of what casino games are: there will be days when you come out a winner, but many others when you don’t. Nobody wants to waste money on an activity unless they have motives for that. Gambling might be entertaining, but it wouldn't be fun if you always lose. Well, I doubt if any gambler engages in gambling for fun. I gamble, and I gamble both online and in the shop too. I have also interacted with friends and other gamblers, and honestly is obvious that majority of the gamblers are at loss. When you gamble for fun, you don't complain even when you loose money, and if there is any gambler who gamble for fun, I have not equally seen any gambler who looses his money to gambling and he is very happy.
As for me, I have not gambled for fun. I have always gambled to make money from gambling and each time I loose money feel very unlucky and upset too. If you can accept that gambling is either a zero sum game (at best) and a negative drain on your finances (at usual) then you will realize there is no point in chasing invisible riches that may or may never come. Best throw away a few cents but get the dopamine rush and adrenalin thrill of winning/losing. The games are designed to keep you entertained and playing. So why waste larger amounts of money for the same entertainment?

The thing is is not everyone that is gambling that sees it as a game of fun. Most of the people that claim that they gamble for fun are just trying to give them self a false hope or they trying not to look bad in the eyes of people. In reality, the main reason why people gamble is to make some cash and I don't see anything wrong with it expect when it is being approached in a wrong way.

All of the above options are suitable for everyone, and everyone has the same goal. In my case, it's about passing the time if possible. I also love watching football, and when I bet on a match, it becomes more interesting. It's important to understand that I don't bet every time a match is on I can just watch it, and football is just an additional feature and nothing more.I live a peaceful life, and without gambling, I can go months without betting on anything because I have no desire or mood.

Somehow its not bad to say that they are here to have fun, since that word is somehow helpful to some people so they can set on their mind that gambling is dangerous and they don't want to exceed beyond on what they expect about it.

Maybe there are people don't actually mean that word, but at least they are aware that gambling is supposed to be for fun, its just people slips and became greedy especially when they try their luck to possible hit some big profit to take home big rewards, but sometimes those exceeding actions will result to something bad that's why we see people regret on bad decisions they made.

Playing for fun is a common desire for any gambler, and it is quite common and familiar to everyone. I have a friend who had never played gambling at all before coming to my house, because he was never interested in it. But when we gathered at my place, we played slots online, and he laughed at my reactions after each spin of the slots, and then tried it himself. I have to be honest with you.. out of 89% of people who are gambling today are doing that for the sake of quick gain but they don't seems to understand how the gambling works that is why you see much desperacy on people who are gambling for the sake of profits. Gambling is just a game that you would be playing to ease time or whine away your time while gambling, but some doesn't see it that way they always believe that gambling can give them what they want while involving themselves into gambling but it doesn't end as they did planned.
