Turkish Super League 2026/27 Season

With so many stars and well-known players coming to Turkey, it’s only natural that some of them will shine and contribute to their teams over the course of several seasons. But at the same time, I think some of the players we have high hopes for will end up being sidelined after a while.

How could he possibly surpass Alex and Hagi in just three seasons? I mean, Alex is one thing, but no foreign player in Turkey has yet matched Hagi's achievements.
The level of performance Hagi delivered in the UEFA Cup and the Super Cup speaks for itself—and that’s not even counting the Turkish league.
I know how good Salah is, but he needs at least two or three more quality players alongside him. Fabinho has arrived, but even that isn't enough; a quality striker is essential.

The chances of Trabzon winning a trophy in any European competition are extremely slim. We see this even in the Europa League playoffs. They’ve only just started to make a name for themselves in the Super League in recent seasons, and they aren’t strong enough to compete on both fronts at the same time. In fact, we can say that no team in the Super League can pull this off.

Beşiktaş could have turned things around if that red card was rightfully given to their opponent. But the referee said no even after review. What a waste of time this league is really...

I'm not even a Beşiktaş fan but it could happen and actually has happened so many times to my team as well. It's frustrating.

I know this kind of things can happen even in the Premier League but this doesn't correct these mistakes. 

These mistakes are unforgivable; in my opinion, these refereeing errors are the biggest factor lowering the quality of the league. They can't even be called mistakes; in many matches, referees deliberately make wrong decisions against Beşiktaş and some other teams. It's perfectly normal for Beşiktaş fans to protest; every year, these absurd decisions cause the team to fall behind and prevent them from rejoining the title race. It's terrible that we're already discussing refereeing decisions in the first few weeks; I hope this doesn't worsen in the coming weeks

There is an interesting thing I have come across lately. Beşiktaş are more favoured than Trabzonspor for the title by bookies in Turkey. However it's the other way around abroad.  

I think Beşiktaş will finish the season ahead of them this time. I know Trabzonspor has also made good transfers including Salah. But I just can't overlook Vincenzo Italiano's work at Beşiktaş so far.

In such a short time he has changed things quite positively as you can see from general results too.

It is only the third week, and the referees are already the talk of the town again. Whatever happened to the plan to use chipped balls in our matches? What was the logic behind spending two minutes reviewing the first goal Salah scored yesterday? VAR spent two minutes reviewing that match, but I don't know if there was even a review during the Alanya-Beşiktaş game! Had there been a review, Aliti would have received a red card.

It was thought that with the help of the VAR there would be no more refereeing errors, but unfortunately they happen a lot.

They should help more to avoid making mistakes, i don't know what happens in the VAR room if it's a technical problem or something else; i hope they will try not to make any more mistakes and improve the VAR or whoever is behind the VAR.

Using VAR does not mean that the referee will not make mistakes at all. Still, the referee's decision is declared as the final decision on the field of play. The job of VAR is to present the information obtained from various footage in a simple and nice way to the referee, so that a referee can easily make the right decision. But if there is an error, the ultimate decision is still made by humans. But if VAR keeps making the same mistake over and over again, then it should be understood that it is due to VAR or training errors. So I would say that one should not rely completely on technology. Again, if in doubt, it is necessary to check whether the VAR and the referee's decision are correct.

This is the natural play for Salah actually. It is who he is normally. I'm just wondering how often we will see that from him during the season. Because his last season at Liverpool wasn't that impressive.

Maybe that was because he wasn't able to keep up with the Premier League football anymore. In the Turkish league he can show good performances easier. There are decent players like Muçi at Trabzonspor who can feed him too.

It can happen that you don't have a good season, but Salah cannot be discussed, he has always given everything for his team. Always keeping up with the Premier League is not easy. In the Turkish championship he can give more and put in excellent performances if he is always fit. He will play great games and help the team win.

and in terms of career achievements, Salah simply ranks above Anelka, Osimhen or Hagi.

But absolutely, Momo Salah easily has what it takes to become a living legend in Türkiye. Already with the purchase and with his and his family's choice to move to Trabzonspor he wrote the history of the club. Now, together with the club, he could write team history. We will only see over time how Trabzonspor will approach this championship.

If it were merely a matter of career achievements, consider Carlos: he had a far more impressive career than Salah and won many more trophies, yet his time in Türkiye did not have the same impact.

Hagi did not arrive at Galatasaray with massive fame, but over time, he added immense value to the club, and he grew in stature alongside it.

A player like Salah, who managed to do what he did with Liverpool, imagine what he can do in a team like Trabzonspor, a team where he is clearly of superior quality, with much lower pressure than the pressure he received in the Premier League.


A player with so much quality and with little pressure on him can achieve incredible results.

Although the start is good for Galatasaray, I am thinking about the whole season. The teams have been performing as expected since the second week. Although there are a total of 18 teams in the Turkish league, there will be only three teams fighting for the title and people will be watching these three teams. Galatasaray is a very strong team, Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor have also increased their strength by signing two star players this season. Mohamed Salah has already started to prove himself, his consistent performance will help Trabzonspor to get a good position. Lukaku has not seen any goals yet for Fenerbahçe. Maybe we will see goals from him very soon.

I believe that Lukaku will play in a team in a league with less following than the others, based on how he has behaved with the various teams he has been in lately. Galatasaray has a very strong team, even if the club didn't participate much during the summer transfer window, while Fenerbahce has strengthened a lot and will have to give their fans a chance to see this change.

I believe that in general referees are having a negative impact on both clubs and football itself, because they are given power that they shouldn't have. Referees should take courses on VAR consultation and on how to handle certain situations that can overturn matches and ruin them, as has happened in some cases.

Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah is an incredible player for a team like Trabzonspor in the Turkish league, as we saw in yesterday's match as he scored a brace in their second match against Istanbul Basaksehir. However I was surprised that Mohamed Salah's team Trabzonspor lost to Ferencvarosi in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-offs.

The UEFA Europa League play-offs were probably more important for this team than the Turkish Super League, but this one of the most reliable players in Egypt could not shine there. Since he has already scored two goals, so it seems that he is behind Victor Osimhen in terms of goals as the Nigerian player has managed to score four goals. As you say, Victor Osimhen will play better at Arsenal or Barcelona, but this rumor may not be true because the Turkish league club Galatasaray may be able to keep their best player for the upcoming season.

What did the referee, who failed to show a red card to an Alanyaspor player at the start of the match, discuss with the VAR room for whole 3 minutes? The footage isn't being released because VAR didn't call him over to review it on screen. This is utter nonsense.

It's clear they're following orders again. It's simply incomprehensible that the referee didn't issue a single card in a match with so many fouls. Apparently, this referee's average number of cards per match is 4.5. All of this defies the normal course of events. All the referees and those who assigned them to this match need to be investigated. There could be match-fixing involved. These aren't normal occurrences.

Just look at the issues we're discussing in only the second week of the league. Unfortunately nothing has changed in this country.

ye this year too we will talk about the same things, the VAR started badly there are too many errors, i don't understand why this happens. There were many fouls and some players could have been booked, talking about match-fixing seems a bit much to me, i don't know and i hope that's not the case. We'll see in the next games how they behave.

Salah has had a good start to the season and seems to have adapted to the team quickly. The Turkish Super League isn't a tough league; he'll easily adapt and could become the league's top scorer. If the other players at Trabzonspor also perform well, I'm sure Salah will finish the season with over 20 goals.

I was particularly curious on how this game would turn out, given how eventually matched both teams were and the fact that, they played a 1:1 draw in their first leg at Fenerbahce, to expect that Fenerbahce would come to the lique 1 and win was doubtful but, that’s precisely what they did. Scoring way early in the first half, taking the lead twice and though they conceded a goal later on into the second half, they were able to hold on to their edge in the game.

Lyon was unlucky with those offside calls but, I feel the VAR were particularly right on those calls.

Yes, i absolutely agree because VAR should be the tool to correctly regulate the most difficult actions to follow and not to give a totally personal judgment which gives much more power to the referee to be able to direct a match to his attraction, similar episodes are seen more and more often.

VAR is used clumsily. Sometimes it really seems like there are conspiracies behind making a match go a certain way. Because there are many inexplicable situations where in some matches a certain foul is called, while in other matches the exact same foul is not punished or sanctioned.

I believe that the two teams are more or less on the same level, because Besiktas, together with Vincenzo Italiano, have found a coach who knows how to create a game and who knows how to bring home good results. On the other side there is a Trabzonspor that with the purchase of Salah has changed the entire atmosphere of the team, in a positive way. We'll have to wait for them to face each other.
