In the 3rd game of today, Celtic wasted their 3-0 advantage. Actually, they scored the first goal, so were 4-0 up on the aggregate, but allowed LASK to equalise and now we're going through extra time. LASK surely have a mental boost from coming back from being 4 goals down. LASK scored another one and we're just waiting for the 2nd half of the extra time, but things are looking really bad for Celtic.

By the way, LASK missed a penalty in the second extra time making the situation even worse for Celtic. From 4 goals advantage on aggregate to taking 5 goals without even going through penalties. Sometimes I wonder if Celtic did that intentionally to pass to Europa League and advance more there, potentially..

LASK made an incredible comeback. After losing the first leg 0-3 and conceding a goal in the second leg, they scored four goals to take the match into extra time and then scored a fifth. LASK could have scored even more, but Celtic's goalkeeper saved a penalty. I was incredibly surprised when I watched the highlights of this match. And I don't think Celtic deliberately lost the game in order to qualify for the Europa League. If they had done it intentionally, why would they have scored the first goal? The reaction of the Celtic players when they conceded also clearly showed their confusion and frustration.

Today, four final second-leg matches of the Champions League qualifying play-off round are scheduled:

Celje (Slovenia) — Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia)
Viking (Norway) — Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia)
AEK (Greece) — Levski (Bulgaria)
Lyon (France) — Fenerbahce (Turkey)

The results of these matches will determine the final teams to qualify for the league phase. All four ties are in an interesting and very rare situation: every first leg ended in a draw. So now, the teams need a win to qualify for the Champions League league phase.

I expect the home teams to advance and qualify for the league. A common feature of these four matches is that the first legs ended in draws.
The team that wins today will qualify for the Champions League.

The match I will be following closely is the Lyon vs. Fenerbahçe game. Lyon heavily rotated their squad in last week's match against Toulouse. Asensio's absence is a major loss for Fenerbahçe.
I hope luck is on Fenerbahçe's side and that we are the ones to advance.

Another team I will be following is Viking. If Viking advances, it will be a great achievement for Norwegian football.

today we have fenerbahçe’s away game against lyon. in my opinion, this was the most intriguing matchup of the playoffs. i also think this is the most-watched game worldwide, but yesterday’s games ended with such surprising results that attention suddenly shifted to those matches.

lyon is the favorite in today’s match because they managed to draw on the road and hold the advantage in the champions league race, but fenerbahçe shouldn’t be underestimated. they’re just one win away from qualifying for the champions league, which they haven’t been able to do for years. i think it’s going to be a great match.
Of course, this will be a do or die match for both teams if they want to make it to the UCL group stage this season. So it’s certain that this will be a tough match for both teams, and surely neither team wants to miss the chance in this game, especially since making it to the UCL group stage automatically also boosts the club’s revenue from UEFA.

Lyon definitely has an advantage in this match because in the first leg they managed to hold Fenerbahce to a draw away. On top of that, playing at home will surely boost their morale and Lyon also has good European experience. But Fenerbahce still can't be underestimated because their chances are also high since, in terms of squad depth, Fenerbahce is actually better than Lyon. Fenerbahce has strength in squad depth, with players like Kante, Ake, Greenwood, and Lukaku. So with such experienced players, they can always spring surprises on any opponent in important matches. So I predict the Lyon vs Fenerbahce match will be tight and it's not impossible that it could end in a penalty shootout if the score remains tied.

Of all today's matches, AEK are the only clear favorites, and they will most likely advance. In the other matches, the teams are more or less evenly matched, which makes them very difficult to predict. I think Lyon and Celje have an advantage because they are playing at home, and I expect both teams to win. Dinamo Zagreb are playing away against Viking, but I would still favor the Croatian club because they have a lot of experience in European competitions.

50:50 to measure the strength of Lyon and Fenerbahce. Because Lyon played in front of the public themselves against Fenerbahce in leg 2, from 50:50 it changed to 60:40 or only up 5 (55:45). Why this number, because in my opinion Lyon's chances of winning are not big considering Fenerbahce's target which requires them to draw in Turkiye in the first leg is a strong reason even though Lyon this time has the x factor in France.
Another match that played leg 2 at the same time as Lyon-Fenerbahce was not as interesting as the match between Dinamo Zagreb and 3 others even though they both achieved a draw in leg 1.

the first half is over, and fenerbahçe leads lyon 2-0. to be honest, i didn’t expect lyon to be this weak. it wasn’t until after they conceded two goals that they started to gain possession. judging by the current score and the flow of the game, fenerbahçe should easily advance to the next round, but we’ve learned from recent match results that we shouldn’t be too confident too early.

if this score remains unchanged, fenerbahçe will qualify for the champions league for the first time in nearly 20 years.

It seems this Champions League season will be one of "firsts." Turkey will compete with two teams in the league phase for the first time. With Viking also qualifying, Norway will be represented by two teams in the Champions League, alongside Bodø/Glimt. Meanwhile, LASK Linz will also make its debut in the competition.

Following a superstition, I deliberately chose not to watch the first half of the match. During the time I wasn't watching, Fenerbahçe finished the first half with a 2–0 lead.
This situation is of great importance for my country in terms of accumulating national ranking points (coefficient points). If we can gather points with two teams in the Champions League—while Beşiktaş competes in the UEFA Europa League and Trabzonspor earns significant points, at least in the Conference League—we might see two of our teams qualify directly for the Champions League in future years.
Now, it is the turn of my own team, Beşiktaş, to take the field tomorrow.

I just watched the highlights of yesterday's LASK Vs Celtic. It seems like something snapped in the Scottish team after they scored the opener. Perhaps they mentally relaxed and assumed a 4-goal advantage means they are already there and there's no point in staying focused. They got incredibly sloppy and essentially gave away 2 goals by clumsy, careless passing near theirown penalty area.
To be fair, it could've been worse. The game could have ended 6-1 if LASK didn't miss the penalty in extra time.

Fenerbahçe has qualified for the Champions League after an 18-year hiatus. The key factors behind this success were proper squad building and the appointment of the right manager.
Fenerbahçe put in a magnificent performance today.
Beating Lyon here was no easy task; however, thanks to two quick, consecutive goals, we finished the first half with a 2-0 lead.

We will enter the league phase from Pot 3.

There is currently talk of a potential Rashford transfer; our participation in the Champions League will make it easier to secure new signings.

We will be represented by two teams in the league.

When the score was 1-2, a second goal scored by Lyon was disallowed following a VAR review.
I saw Fenerbahçe fans experiencing happiness again after all this time.

A huge success for Fenerbahce. They eliminated Olympique Lyon despite playing away. The first game ended  with a 1-1 draw, but the rematch belong to the Turkish club. They stunned OL with two goals within the first half an hour, something OL were not able to recover from.

In other games of today:
AEK defeated Levski Sofia 4-0 on aggregate
Viking proved to be better than Dinamo Zgreb (5-3 aggregate)
And we have extra time going on in Celje Vs Slovan Bratislava. Slovan is up by one goal and have one man advantage due to a red card to Celje.

I congratulate Fenerbahçe. After 18 years, they have qualified for the Champions League and made us proud.

For the first time, two Turkish teams will be competing in the Champions League.

Fenerbahçe played very well tonight and deserved the victory. They came away from their away match against Lyon with a win.

The Celtic fans would be very furious and disappointed at their club players laxity after successfully leading with 4 goal with few minutes to finish the game. Football is a game that rewards the better team, and as soon as Celtic became confident and comfortable that it was an already sealed win for them to relax, that when LASK took advantage of their comfort to drag the game to a 4:4 draw where they won it by 5 : 4 in the extra time. It's another day to remind us that until a game has being ended by the referee the game isn't over.

Fenerbahçe played good football and qualified for the Champions League after a long hiatus. Today, after making the score 0-2, the team put up a strong collective fight.
Had Oğuz Aydın scored in the one-on-one situation during the second half, the match could have been put to bed much earlier.
Fofana was one of the most effective players on the pitch. He scored Lyon's goal. He will likely transfer to Roma starting tomorrow.
I know that Roma wants to sign Fofana.
I think Lyon would be open to this transfer, given their financial difficulties.
Lyon will be competing in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Congratulations Fenerbahçe, you're back in the Champions League after so many years, It was a historic victory. The final minutes were terrifying, but thankfully, the match ended 2-1 without any major setbacks. Oğuz's attempts on the left wing paid off, and he delivered a fantastic cross to Vedat, who scored on both occasions. This season, Fenerbahçe is truly a different team. Fenerbahçe also had a penalty denied. Ederson couldn't do anything about Fofana's goal he sent it into the far corner at the most unexpected moment.

After so many years and so many seasons they have finally been able to break this bad luck and go into the champions league. I think they werent in the champions league for almost 18 years or so if im not mistaken and today they beaten Lyon in an away game and finally joined the champions league. This is huge for their club and i think they can do a lot in this group phase with the team that they have.

Fenerbahce truly played very well against Lyon as they had managed to score 2 goals at the stadium of Parc Olympique Lyonnais in order to stop Lyon from qualifying for the Uefa Champions League. Lyon are an extremely tough team to beat whenever they are playing at their home stadium but this time Lyon had 2 of their goals disallowed by the referee due to VAR and I think the referee ruling out Lyon 2nd goal scored for offside was indeed brutal as it had denied Lyon a chance to bring the game into extra time.

Fenerbahce deserves to celebrate tonight because they had an impressive performance against Lyon away from home, they wanted this qualification so badly and they went all out for the game, pressured their opponent so hard until they got the break through and took advantage of it to score, they increased the goal to 2 and managed to hold it until the final whistle. They have broken that bandage of nkt being in the champions League and they will be so happy same thing with their fans who had missed their performance in the big stage now they wil have to go and prepare more for the task ahead which is to come out of the group stages.

Fenerbahçe's victory came as a surprise to me, but I love pleasant surprises like this.
I was happy to see a team from my country qualify for the Champions League. I hope we can also rack up good points with both teams during the league phase.
Fenerbahçe started the match well, but in my opinion, it is goalkeeper Ederson who has had a strong start to the season. Ederson played a major role in yesterday's match, enabling Fenerbahçe to qualify for the Champions League today.
At the end of last season, many fans wanted him gone, but after becoming president, Aziz Yıldırım announced that Ederson would stay with the team.
Fenerbahçe, which last competed in the Champions League in 2008 under the presidency of Aziz Yıldırım, will once again participate in the tournament with him at the helm.
The draw takes place today at 19:00 Turkish time; I hope our teams get a lucky draw.

Ederson's standout contribution during the match was his excellent use of the ball—specifically when he received passes like a defender while the team was circulating possession—and his ability to set up players like Vedat, Lukaku, and Talisca with long balls.
While the saves he made were mostly against shots directed straight at him, his proficiency with the ball at his feet proved highly beneficial for Fenerbahçe yesterday.

The draw takes place today.
There is an interesting quirk regarding the draw: Inter and Arsenal cannot face each other in Milan, as they have played each other there for two consecutive years. Similarly, Real Madrid and Manchester City cannot meet in Madrid, given that both teams have played in Madrid in each of the last two years.
If they were to be drawn against one another, the Arsenal-Inter match would have to be played in London, and the Real Madrid-City match in Manchester.
That is the interesting situation at hand.

Fenerbahçe played well against Lyon and won. As for the match itself, Fenerbahçe had an easy first half thanks to the difference in experience between its veteran and rookie players. In the second half, however, between the 60th and 70th minutes, the game could have suddenly swung in Lyon’s favor. The momentum had completely shifted to Lyon, but thanks to two disallowed goals and a VAR review, Lyon’s pressure subsided.

In my opinion, İsmail Kartal isn’t a head coach for this level of competition. He’s a good person, but he doesn’t belong at this level. It was a mistake to give momentum to a team like Lyon. Fenerbahçe has a deep roster and a strong midfield, but their fullbacks are sluggish. Even the center backs are slow. As for the forwards, they’re sluggish too. By far the most important player for Fenerbahçe Asensio hasn’t returned yet, but right now Greenwood is the best. The team needs a few key reinforcements.
