As an investor it's advisable to keep emergency funds to ensure that your Bitcoin asset management is done to the utmost, however there could be circumstances that emergency funds won't or might not be enough to handle the matter at hand whether a mistake or totally unforseen and uncontrollable happening. A very debilitating situation that the thinking of selling Bitcoin holding is already part of the options.

Under such conditions what will you do between selling your Bitcoin, borrowing money and selling other belongings etc.

In the case of Bitcoin investment, every person should keep an emergency fund so that they can buy at that opportunity during market volatility. But there are times when the market situation becomes very bad and there is no emergency fund and there is no situation to buy at that time. In that case, when the emergency fund runs out, many will take loans as an alternative, and many will think of selling some household items and buying Bitcoin with them. However, I think that when you invest, the emergency fund will run out later, then there is no need to buy anymore. Rather, the amount that has been purchased should be held for the future and I think that if you invest later by borrowing, it is more risky. So in the case of investment, when the emergency funds run out, you should patiently hold the amount that has been invested without taking any further steps.
What you pointed is what some investors actually use to do but the emergency funds is not to be used to buy Bitcoin and this thread is actually talking about situations or challenges outside buying Bitcoin that's trying to settle a problem that is being faced of which the emergency funds kept is not enough to settle it and definitely under such conditions you can not be thinking of buying Bitcoin but will even be tempted to sell your Bitcoin, sell other properties or borrowing money to settle out that challenge or situation. So under such conditions what will you do among the three probable options (selling of your Bitcoin asset or selling your properties or borrowing money).

We should always pray against what ever situation that will eat up all our money emergency funds and problems comes in different level but when an emergency comes that our emergency funds can't be able to handle it then the next option is to borrow it. Emergency funds is great tools in our lives, emergencies comes expected thats why need to be saving up for an emergency funds and since it's an emergency the available immediate option will be going for a loan that's if you have a collateral that is worth the money you want to borrow.

I don't think it's unusual to face such a situation, even many such investors have been accumulating Bitcoin regularly for many years but have not faced any emergency situation yet. I think if I reach such an emergency situation in the future and cannot be backed up with emergency funds, I will sell part of my Bitcoin holdings instead of taking out a loan to deal with the situation.

I will give more priority to solving real-life problems because I will be able to recoup the losses when such problems do not arise in the future. It would be fair for any investor to sell Bitcoins while giving more importance to solving the current problem.

Not all investors have the same financial capacity. Some may have excess funds available and they can solve the problem without withdrawing their Bitcoin holdings if they wish. But I personally think it is fair for some poor investors to withdraw part of their holdings, but I do not support going into debt for it.
Selling is not weakness. Selling is but recognition. That what you have been saving up, you are believing, which you believe is capital was also capital. It was also always real, as well.

A debt in a crisis is no simple matter of money. You are tackling a second problem on top of the problem you had. People seriously underestimate the effect all that has on the brain in the coming months. Just like it makes all other decisions seem less important.

What @Obulis talking is something about identity. For Bitcoin investors, particularly those with long-term holdings, the psychological connection to the Bitcoin stack is indescribable. To sell, even for a good reason, even a real reason, is like something. More like grief.

The one who sells on purpose, the one who understands the reasons and tells himself, then he grows again quicker. They were not running from the decision.

Before investing, every investor should double check whether he has an emergency fund. One should keep more than the amount of emergency fund required so that he never faces any problem. One of the things that keeps the investment motivated is to manage a sufficient amount of emergency fund. Otherwise, even if the emergency is in the form of a loss, the investment has to be abandoned and then a negative thought is created about the investment that one cannot make a profit by investing in Bitcoin but has to make a loss.

True what you say with this emergency fund is not recommended to be used to buy bitcoin and with the discussion of emergency funds diluara bitcoin investment as you say is an attempt to solve problems faced in the real world where emergency funds saved are not enough to solve them, the step that is likely to be done is to borrow either to the bank or to relatives, friends or anyone in the environment around.

I have experienced it, with me having an emergency fund that is intended to overcome urgent circumstances but it is not enough as a result I borrow to people around but on the other hand I have a steady income that can indeed pay the loan but for people who are in the same situation but do not have a steady income may be a different story.

but we can't know exactly how much money will be needed for the emergency. we cannot predict when an emergency will happen, how long it will last, or how much it will cost.
in addition, an emergency fund is very important, but it is only one part of a financial plan, not the entire plan. therefore, keeping an excessively large amount of money in an emergency fund is not always reasonable

that is why, according to common recommendations, emergency fund should only be enough to cover necessary expenses for a certain period of time, such as 3-6 month. holding too much money in an emergency fund means your capital may not be used effectively.

A loan can be paid, Bitcoin holding can be replaced, selling of valuables can be replaced later but life can never be replaced so I'll suggest thst investor help themselves with anyone of those in live challenging situations that their emergency fund is not enough to solve. I don't mean that one can sell all their holdings, no. Some portions can be borrowed to add up an settle the emergency situations, then replaced later, after where there's life there would be a way and if someone is dead the person can't invest again.

Anytime you don’t have emergency funds is always difficult for you to solve your problems, when you have source of income anytime you get money the first thing you can do is to remove emergency funds so that anytime you get problems you can easily used your emergency funds to solve the issue you’re facing. Is not only the investors should be having emergency funds even business people. So anything we’re doing we should think wisely and safe our self form big problems. In my opinion I think you’re right by using bitcoin as and option too for emergency funds when you have invested in bitcoin and you have achieved some profit in your bitcoin investment.

Emergency fund is very important in every investment, every investment require consistency and once it is interrupted with any issue, it is always affected. In this case you have to rear adjust so that your investment should not pause, when it comes to bitcoin investment the best thing we should always know is that we should make sure that the money we are using is from our discretionary income, is from this funds that you are going to make your investment, your emergency funds and also your discretionary consumption. From all these that we mentioned each of them have the percentage that you are allocated for each, the only thing here is to make an adjustment so that the emergency fund will be enough.

I've never felt anything like this until now because from the beginning I always put emergency funds and reserve funds for at least a few months of life so that when there are unexpected situations Im ready for it.

I distinguish an emergency fund and a reserve fund usually some will probably make this one but I differentiate this because for me those reserve funds can be like savings etc and an emergency fund is a fund that is functioned for unforeseen circumstances.

With these few steps, when there are things that are not expected we are actually ready without having to sell bitcoin or other valuables and even debt because we can use our reserve funds and emergency funds to cover it.
I would rather spend my spare and emergency funds than sell in bitcoin as long as I can afford it and until now my way is still worth it.

The most effective practice of dividing emergency money with reserve money is a tested mode of ensuring individual financial security without necessarily losing your valuable Bitcoin in case of the unexpected crisis. The most effective way to save your family out of the terrible pit of debt is to save cash a regular amount of money in advance of storm.

Well first and foremost emergency fund is kept for crucial situations but if somehow there is a situation that the existing emergency fund can't handle and selling Bitcoin happened to be the only option then it will be sold to help settle the situation. But before that we should be able to try in one way or the other to get fund from one person or the other, but if we are unable to find solution to it, then we have mo option than to sell some portion to solve the emergency. But when that is done and the money is somehow recovered, we should replace them immediately.

Holding Bitcoin is easy because you have money, you have bought Bitcoin and deposited it, but whenever you hold Bitcoin as a long-term investment, you must follow some strategies. Strategies that will help you get through the future include building an emergency fund. You can add one to two percent of your income to the emergency fund after building your scientific investment. This will help you maintain your Bitcoin billion for a long time and protect you from minor dangers.

If your Bitcoin investment is no longer able to sustain itself, then you must increase your source of income and give it more importance. You must give up bad habits on unique expenses other than the basic expenses that you have.
You can use the amount of money that comes from here to invest in Bitcoin or use this money to protect your Bitcoin holding. In this way, if you follow the strategy, the possibility of your danger in the future will be very low.

First of all, there is no way we can know that our emergency funds is enough or sufficient to take care of any emergency that may come our way while we are progressing because like you said, we can not tell or know the gravity of the emergency or challenge we will come across in our days of holding Bitcoin. But if peradventure we come across one that we don't have option than to sell then I will advise you do because after borrowing or selling property you might still end up selling your Bitcoin investment later and then it will be off no use.

For me, if shock or any noise happen we should remember what is our investment purpose, my investment purpose are increase my financial security, achieve life goal and create financial freedom. For healthy mind i will hold bitcoin as long as my financial condition can support it. Thats why before investment i will ensure i will healthy financial structure which create bigger possibility to maintain assets even in the worst economic conditions.

I also add the amount of my emergency saving periodically after got profit from my real business, for me emergency fund saving is a shock absorber, the larger the amount, the less panic we feel when pressure come nad bravely we can say I don't need to sell my asset especially my bitcoin when the price is low. Everyday beside enjoy life with all its challenges, i will update and upgrade my ability to buy asset and stack it.

If really we can be able to know the kind of funds will need as emergency fund, honestly that will be a very good point, but we cannot even identify when those emergency will happen, so having what it will cause will be very difficult. The best is to do is to build it simultaneously with your investment to avoid any challenge ahead, because if we decided to set aside a particular fund for our emergency definitely it will come and affect us at the end, and this will lead us to lose our investment, meaning we will be let with no option rather than to sell part of our bitcoin to solve the problem.

You are right, one can't tell when and how emergencies will occur but it's up to one to decide if they will handle the emergencies properly and protect themselves from debt,  that is to say, that one should ensure they work and save for future use, as it won't cause them more harm than good because debt is the fastest way to bring one down to a point that it can ruin their life. But they can prevent this from happening if they possess a good mindset.

As an investor it's advisable to keep emergency funds to ensure that your Bitcoin asset management is done to the utmost,
Not only investors, but anyone should have some reserves for unforeseen circumstances, as compelling force events can arise that require immediate cash. What should you do in such a case? Wait until payday? What if you get laid off?

It's reported that 40-50% of the population has some money saved for a rainy day. I think this figure is a bit exaggerated, given how carelessly many people manage their finances and are influenced by the consumerist era.

I wonder how many (what percentage) crypto investors have reserve funds? Another reason to create a poll? Smiley

however there could be circumstances that emergency funds won't or might not be enough to handle the matter at hand whether a mistake or totally unforseen and uncontrollable happening.
I believe this may indicate poor strategic planning. What can be done? Try to take into account all potential force majeure circumstances as much as possible and prepare for them.

Increase your reserves. Consider risk diversification: divide the reserves into different parts and store them in different places (cash, highly liquid assets, banking, etc.).

A very debilitating situation that the thinking of selling Bitcoin holding is already part of the options.
In the case of investments, should avoid this as much as possible if it disrupts your investment plan (sale timing).

Under such conditions what will you do between selling your Bitcoin, borrowing money and selling other belongings etc.
I even find it difficult to answer this question, because each answer option doesn't satisfy me to one degree or another.

In certain situations, we sometimes have to sacrifice something we've even carefully prepared for, but who knows, with bad luck, our emergency funds might not be enough to cover it. Selling Bitcoin was my last resort. In other words, as long as we're willing to try and find a way, I think other options will open up. I'll try everything first before I run out of options.

I'm reminded of a distant relative of mine. Fortunately, he has a wife who is adept at managing her finances. She saved from her husband's monthly allowance, so one day, when they needed money, my brother's wife told me she had savings.

My brother was obviously shocked, as he didn't know that his wife had actually set aside the monthly allowance he always gave him for savings.

As a bitcoin investor, bear in mind that good reward does not come so quickly, and therefore it is advisable to diversify your investment, and don't depend on your Bitcoin investment to solve your emergency challenges.
As you invest in Bitcoin which gain value on the long run, you should also endeavour to engage in other business or investment that will be earning you money on daily basis, so that when your emergency fund is not able to solve emergency issues, you can dip hand in your business or if possible you can even borrow from close friends which you can repay later.
When you sell your bitcoin under emergency situation, you will likely sell at loss which may not even be enough to settle your emergency challenges, and is a risk that will deprive you your financial stability in time to come.
