No.
You can totally expect profit from gambling. Nobody's stopping you . Isn't that exactly why we gamble in the first place? lol

Expectations, odds or outcome aren't what separates the two, either. People can get lucky and make money gambling, just as other lose money investing. That's not what defines the difference, though.

What separates them is what your money actually goes into. Investing means putting a resource that has real value to use. Gambling is to risk an event or game, and hoping it will turn out the way you expect.

Winning bet does not turn gambling into investing, just as losing money doesn't turn a investment into gambling.
I agree your explanation to some extent, but I think there is another direction that also need to be considered. The difference between gambling and investing is not just about where the money goes, but also the  value, risk and how the returns are generated, for example investing, you are putting money into an asset or business that can generate value over time, whether through profits, or any other means while gambling, on the other hand, generally depends on predicting what you are not sure of and dont know how the end will be it’s just like a guessing think based of past performance, and where the money won by one person will have to come from another person loss, minus those controlling the platform tho am not saying every all investment is automatically productive or successful or different from gambling, some of this online investment platform are almost similar to gambling, most especially when you enter positions without understanding the asset.
So the main thing is not whether someone makes or loses money but it is of the  capital is can be traced to an asset with a good value and a reasonable platform.

Um, no.  If somebody is saying this, either they are trying to get you to gamble or they are trying to justify their gambling.  Oh, and buying meme coins/tokens aren't an investment either but is rather gambling as they have no utility.  However, one has been used to buy access to a president, IYKYK.
Exactly, it think gambling should be more related to trading and not investing. When you invest it like you planting something for the future, but gambling is more of a thing that happens in a short period of time, just like trading.

When you invest, you should invest in things that have a good history or a clear roadmap to where they will be in the coming future. Invest in stocks, buy shares from good companies and even invest in bitcoin. When you invest In things like this, you have a good tendency of having a good return in the future.

Gambling is not to be compared to investing. It not just the same thing.

Is he right from what you think?

Either he is new to gambling or he does not understand gambling and is addicted to gambling, moreover, an experienced gambler cannot present such a thing. Gambling and investment are never the same thing, you can understand this yourself because investment is keeping your wealth with you or buying bitcoins and if you keep it with you for a long time, it will give you benefits. Once you lose, you will not get the second chance to get your money back.
There is no possibility of getting your money back, how can the meaning of investment and MA gambling be the same, if you gamble to earn money, then you will definitely lose money and that person will lose all his wealth at the last moment.

No matter how people are trying to package it gambling and investments are never and can never be the same, like you have said you are to buy Bitcoin, or stock, even gold, even if the price just drop a little bit you are still in control of your assets, if possible you could even wait till 10 years from now till then and it can recover and you your benefits, and that what we call a second chance….

While as for gambling once you lose the sake it gone, it s just simple and easy way to lose money, you lose and there is no asset remaining, the money turns zero and you never get a second chance, which the only to recover if you are lucky it to start all over again and it a strategy to lose wealth…

Like the best way to Investment risk is managed with time and knowledge, and as for gambling risk is designed so house always wins over time and there is nothing that can be managed about it..

In other hands, investment is different from gambling, let say if uses specific amount to buy Bitcoin worth of 100$ and if market drops the investment decreases by dollar equivalent but the fractions of my Bitcoin remains the same till the market took back its place or even move above expected price and I could likely sell to have my profit whereas, I can also hold for longer time as I wishes.
Yes, when a person can think in this way, he will feel that investment and gambling are not the same thing. When you invest in a bad coin in the market, you will still have hope for years that the value of that coin may increase at some point and you can profit from it at some point, but in the case of gambling, this is not the case. In gambling, there are two conditions: either the money will go to you completely, or the money will return with some profit along with your capital. That is, you have no opportunity to think long-term about gambling.

But on the contrary, if you uses same amount to gamble when you lose it there is no way to get it back and there is no possibility of winning, in fact the chances are 50/50 base.

Is he right from what you think?
I am saying from my experience in gambling that the probability of winning or losing is not 50-50 in gambling.
For example, if you bet on a match, you expect that you will win more, but a momentum in the match can change everything. So I personally think that in gambling, the percentage of the possibility of losing money is higher than the return.

Why would someone be buying memecoin and think that is an investment even after knowing how manipulative altcoin could be, it is important to buy Bitcoin or a more trusted coin in the market. Coin like ethereum, BNB or any other top 10-20 altcoin in the market, at least holding that coin would reduce volatility a bit.

They buy memecoins and hold for some period of time hoping to see their holdings turn into profits so basically they see that as an investment and not knowing they are trading because they are not holding for too long for it to be considered as an investment rather it trading.
However memecoins are not suitable for holding for a long term holding instead bitcoin and other most popular and reliable coins are the ones suitable for a long term holding because they generate positive results for us than all this shitcoins and memecoins. Some people use to think memecoins are like what they normally use to be back in the days not knowing things have shifted.

The person is wrong for thinking that, especially on the aspect of seeing gambling as a place to multiply your money. We take risks to invest money in something, but the risk is not the same as gambling. Gambling has more risk. Taking some points from the example you gave, if you invest in something, even if its value drops, there is more chance of it increasing over time than the chance you have to recover lost money in gambling, looking at gambling as an investment is a wrong way to view it.

Gambling is not even seen as an investment, because the rude in gambling is not comparable to the one when you are investing, not even crypto buy any othet investment out there.i don't actually know why sone people take gambling as something they will to multiply their money, it's wrong and its hardly work out. I have not seen anyone successfully in usibg gambling ad a way to multiply their money in any way.

Gambling that a small lose, all your hard earned money has gone, while investment even if the value drop it's still your own, you just have be patience till it bounce back.
