I have been thinking lately about how investing in bitcoin is actually a great idea but also it can be really hard to make profit off bitcoin if you're a small Investor
Imagine this:
If bitcoin is at $64k and me as a small investor bought with $1k, for me to make 100% profit bitcoin will have to hit $128k, that is still feasible
But if I'm hoping to make a 200% profit on my investment bitcoin price will have to get to $256k, how achievable is that ? And if it's achievable how long is it going to take

Which brings me back to my question
Can small investors actually make good profit with bitcoin?

Or are there other ways to make money with bitcoin as a small investor rather than just buy and hold?

This is one of the reasons why you are always advised and told that bitcoin is not a short time investement, for a person who know his target just like you do, you must be patience and hodl till it reaches your target.

For your question, Yes beginner can make profit from bitcoin investement but they are have to he knowledgeable so they won't regret or sell their investement on their way to success, because it's not actually easy we are saying it but when you have knowledge and believe in what you are trying to build for your self you will definitely leave the money their.

Bitcoin’s growth isn’t as significant as it used to be especially in the years immediately following its creation, so in the current climate, it’s actually quite difficult to achieve a 100% return on your initial investment, and it will certainly take a long time. On the other hand, I believe investing isn’t the place to seek quick profits, especially with a small amount of capital.
If, for example, you want to make a quick profit, you’ll have to put your money into high-risk assets quick and substantial returns will always be directly proportional to the level of risk involved. Wink

The early bitcoin returns were pretty much absurd NGL:
In 2011: ~+1,390%
In 2013: it was over +5,300%
In 2017: over +1,200%

These kind of moves that start from near zero prices don’t exist no more and it’s obvious that as the market got bigger, the same capital inflows began to produce smaller percentage gains.

The recent cycles have been able to deliver strong numbers even though the multipliers have clearly compressed:
In 2020: ~+300%
In 2023: ~+155%
In 2024: ~+120%

As it is right now, BTC is sitting around $77–81k after experiencing an ATH near $126k as at last year October. Although i won’t proclaim that a clean 100% from here isn’t possible , but it’s no longer the near default outcome that it used to feel like in the early years, and now it usually requires holding through a full cycle rather than a few months like it was back then.

I agree with your observation that it is unlikely that Bitcoin will see the same kind of huge percentage returns in the future as it did in its early years. However I think it is not right to evaluate Bitcoin investments solely by comparing them to past cycles. For a long term investor the key issue should not be how quickly he can get a 100% return rather how he can build his Bitcoin holdings over the long term. Because it is not possible to say with certainty how much the value of Bitcoin will increase in the future or how long it will take. Past performance is no guarantee of future profits.

Bitcoin investment is always the same from the early days till date even though, the volatility is reducing. You have to buy and hodli for long because of the volatile nature from the early days in order for you to see a good profit in your bitcoin investment or did you think that the advise of buying and hodli for long just started in last circle nah. It's because of past experiences on the market movement that have allowed old time investors to understand that long term holding reduces the risk in the volatile nature of bitcoin.

Stop making it look as if it's easy to make profit in bitcoin if you buy and hodli for few months because that's a trader mindset and those that bought in the early days that sold early are regretting it till date that they didn't know that bitcoin price will pump to this current price. The best way to go about your bitcoin investment is long-term because it gives you room to buy and grow your bitcoin stash to a significant size for your future.

It's people like you that will say those early investors are lucky to still hold their bitcoin till date when they passed through tempting periods of new ATHs but didn't sell because they know that bitcoin price can still pump above the price it was then. If you find value in something, you wouldn't let go of it but make it part of you which was what those OGs did.

It’s either you lack comprehension or you’re probably just retarded cos WTF!!

I was talking about market maturation and diminishing percentage returns of bitcoin in the recent years but somehow the only thing that you were able to pick out was that i was somehow attacking the concept of HODLing which i was not and then you now decided to turn it into some kind of HODL sermon and proclaim yourself as some wannabe HODL guardian Grin…..oh please !

Just to be clear, i wasn’t telling anybody to sell after a few months, i simply made an observation that the Bitcoin of 2011 and 2013 operated on a completely different market environment than recent times, maybe you didn’t read to understand that part well before quoting my post.
Not every discussion about Bitcoin’s historical performance needs to become a lecture about patience, discipline and HODLing, Sometimes a market observation is just a market observation smart ass 😂.

P.S: you’ve successfully given me reason to put you on my ignore list, i hate it when people don’t read my posts to understand before quoting me and then end up embarrassing themselves.

Honestly, I think it is better to save Bitcoin for a long time according to your ability than to make a profit from Bitcoin. If those who are new to Bitcoin always look at making a profit from Bitcoin, they may not be able to save Bitcoin for a long time. Because whenever they see that the price of Bitcoin has increased, they will want to sell it. And if the price decreases, they may sell it out of fear.
The most important aspect is where the money that I am saving in Bitcoin is coming from. Everyone can buy Bitcoin, but its real importance is who can save it for a long time without selling it. Continue saving in Bitcoin from the discretionary income that remains after meeting all the necessary expenses, such as daily expenses, family responsibilities, and without using money for emergencies.

People who do this are basically traders and should not be regarded as investors because they don't believe in bitcoin which is why they don't plan to hold. These are the same people that will complain that bitcoin is risky meanwhile they failed to invest right way but chose an approach they will never do in other investments like real estate, stocks and others where they are willing to give the investment enough time to grow before expecting profits.

Bitcoin has a way of punishing such people by not allowing them preduct each and every move it will make. We should never adopt this method, the gain in bitcoin is in investing and holding.

There is nothing wrong with being a trader, but now the problem is that a lot of people don't even know what they want. They talk about investing, but with the way they are going about things, it seems as if it is trading.

It is good, whatever people have in mind to go after; at least they should understand it. If it is to invest in Bitcoin, then one should be looking to invest in Bitcoin long-term, and if it is to make a profit in a short time, then one should be looking at trading and doing it well. If you are not equipped to trade, then it is better to accumulate Bitcoin and hold; this is more profitable than looking to make a profit from Bitcoin in a short time.

I did not say there is something wrong with being a trader but discussing trading in a thread dedicated for investment is very wrong. Not obly will it derail the discussion, it will also put some newbies into confusion of thinking that trading is the best way to go and that investing is like a waste of time.  You know what such mindset will do to them, I don't need to explain much. So we should focus on investing and how to achieve our long-term objectives rather than chasing short-term profits.

I agree that eveyone have the right to chose what to do with their money but in a discussion like this, we should pass the right information so that they can make informed decision. If we continue to dable into trading and short-term investment, a lot of people will copy that as the way to go.

We all know how risky trading is. So it would be best not to put anyone in the middle of the risk by asking them to trade. If a person trades, he can be financially damaged, especially since the possibility of losing money during trading is much higher. So instead of asking someone to trade, ask that person to invest for the long term and tell that person about the risks of trading so that that person is willing to change his trading strategy and invest.

The possibility of losing money during long-term investment is much less compared to trading. The demand for Bitcoin can increase a lot in the future and the possibility of increasing is much higher, so buy consistently and hold it for the long term, this is the best decision and a less risky decision.
